Lady bugs all over. Does that mean anything? -

Thanks to the Court for apparently having plans today. Short 2pm appearance means in the stand. And the judge gave us what we wanted. So just need a nice buck to top it off! -

Biggest we have caught on lake O was 14lbs. I know there are bigger too but 11 is a great brown. -
Even then its close.

Can’t count that high.

Mine are not that fancy. Rubber boots with a removable liner and the liner is fairly thick.

Not real expensive even without a sale. A bit clunky and heavy but very warm. I only use them when its truly frigid. https://www.amazon.com/Baffin-Mens-Hunter-Waterproof-Boot/dp/B004YGRXXI

I have only used 209, but its pretty easy to use. Yes speedloaders with the measured powder and then another with bullets and primer. Pygmy was able to kill two deer that came in together using it last season.

Knife Sharpening ?
moog5050 replied to UpStateRedNeck's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
My two favorite knife makers are esee and benchmade. The esee are all coated blades because they are softer carbon steel blades subject to rusting. But they are a piece of cake to get real sharp. The benchmade I own are all s30v which is much more tarnish resistant and harder to sharpen, but once sharp they hold an edge longer and are easy to touch up. If I was not proficient at sharpening, I would recommend the softer esee steel - which are a bit more reasonably priced too. -

Cool experience, but I will hunt in whatever I manner I think will put me in the best position to kill what I am hunting. Not ruling out ground hunting, but certainly not limiting myself either. -
It was rejected

If you hunted from a tree, they would never even notice you.
-
LOL - I had to explain this concept to my sister who was giving me a hard time about hunting while eating a burger.
-
Probably not the best time to inquire about recovery rights. I can't imagine dealing with that crap to hunt.
-
You guys are one great team! Well done. Love reading about the recoveries that surely would not have been made if not for you and the dogs!

I used an ozone generator in my hunting room. Definitely kills odor on clothes and leaves a smell like a wet morning outside. But I won’t use it on my expensive gear with elastic. Ruined some stuff in a year (perhaps I over did it). That said, I still believe deer will smell your human odor. You can’t stop that.
-
Are you talking about ozone? It works for scent elimination but also kills elastic quickly.
-
Seeing the bucks you take and have on cam, I would stick with what you have. lol

Was he downwind of you when he came in? I never use scents because it seems like you need the PERFECT cross wind or the buck smells you with the scents. Maybe they just get stupid at some point and ignore the danger smell. -

Only takes one doe to go into estrous early to start a frenzy! -
3-10th are when I always see most rut activity but it’s always the week I take off too. 6-9 are money.
