should I cut my timber
moog5050 replied to Bigfoot 327's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Is it only vacant land or your home also? I would be hesitant if it was only vacant land, but with a home, I would consult with a local broker. Probably makes sense to consult either way. I suspect you will make more money by selling timber and then property. -

I can send you the calculations for the vhs Moa if you pm me your cell. I think they are sitting on my desk at work. -

My scope is the moa version. I calculated the numbers based on the published subtensions. Not really that difficult to do. I am not sure if Vortex has a calculator. -

I got rid of my FFP scopes because the crosshairs are tiny and thin at low power. Not real practical for low light shots under 100yds. They are nice if you are zooming in for long shots. -

If you plan to reach out there even if only for fun occasionally, the vortex Viper vhs series has a BDC reticle that is very easy to calculate aim points based on subtensiom. In fact, I ran the eld x numbers on it and each point below the crosshairs was just about 100yds farther. Very easy to remember. -

200yd zero will be 8” low at 300yds. Your 223 is flatter at that distance but falls off dramatically after that. Creedmore shines long range due to BC so it holds speed with less drop as you reach out there. Or so I hear. Never mind. I see Goosifer knows already. -

Yep hornady eld x 143g are touted as being very accurate. -
Lol. It’s a quarter. Don’t be hating jerky. I tried both a handwarmer and tin foil. Both are serviceable targets. The foil reflects heat and shows up as cold. And just for you I will explain that the warmer shows hot.

Thermal has range finder. No more guessing. Lol
-
Thermal is sighted in. Last group is the high one. Moved the reticle up 1” afterwards. Should be point and shoot out to 250ish. Surprinsingly easy to sight in.
-
Need has nothing to do with it.
-
More importantly, how did you do?
-
Not as comprehensive on the outdoors stuff. Its decent, but I suspect for hunting and fishing, you will find more at cabelas.

That a lot of squirrel stew Dom
-
Yes sir! Have a great day.
-
Just proves how dangerous it is! And yes, you won the endurance award!
-
I am out then. That’s just plain dangerously smooooothhh.
-
My suspicion is that its a reaction to the squirrel competitions as they tend to bring out the opponents in mass vs. fishing etc.

I read the legislation - I don't understand what the sponsor is trying to accomplish, protecting fish that can be otherwise fished and killed or coyotes that can be otherwise hunted - ie legal conduct made illegal in the context of a competition. Its ridiculous.
-
I dont understand the reasoning/purpose behind this proposed legislation - seriously.
