  1. Yep and out of whack spine might mask it. And as you said, timing could be off. He is definitely shedding energy somehow.
  2. Core something is not right if you aren't getting broadside pass throughs. Any 60lb compound with 400plus grain arrows should be passing through most of the time. Time to get it to a good Archery shop for a tune. Good news is that you tagged 2 already. Congrats.
  3. Not to brag, but I have 2 mugs:
  4. We just had 35mph winds and sideways downpours. I am watching Pittsburgh.
  5. I truly hope either Phade or David get him. He's a great buck and still running so who knows. I had my chance. Would love to see him on one of their walls. Apparently this was not the one intended for me. Boy was he majestic. My daughters comment was "well you did the right thing but we need some bacon burgers (her favorite use of venison)". Haha. Last thing I was thinking about.
  6. Grow my honest opinion is that this warm weather has slowed things down. The does are there. The bucks will be too. Give it a few weeks.
  7. I could be wrong. We have a 10 on cam there but he looked much bigger in person if it's the same buck. Thinking not. Then again haven't thought very clearly all morning.
  8. That's the worst part. I actually had the compound today because I have hit a slump with the recurve. First time I took it out and had a 10yd chip shot with 82lbs. If there is a bow to shoot quartering too, that's it. Uggghhhhh. My wife is trying to convince me its all good. I must have an even bigger buck waiting this season. Lol
  9. Feeling a bit sick to my stomach at the moment. Maybe that is the reward.
  10. Well I certainly didn't wound him. Lol. I should have shot. Bad call on my part. As I think about it now, even if he passed it would be a very hard quartering away. I had him here fully drawn
  11. I just won the STUPID award. Had a solid 140" buck at 10yds quartering to and 3yds dead below me and never released an arrow. I was drawn when he was below me and was very tempted. He took off right after he passed me. In hindsight I probably should have taken the quartering to shot. It was a gift and I knew he was coming. This one will haunt me for a long time I think. I was too cautious on this one for sure. These opportunities don't come along that often. Not sure why I am posting other than to say take your first good shot. Don't wait for the perfect shot.
  12. Should have photo bombed them in full camo!
  13. Was set up between crp field and swamp. First ever sit in this stand. Just had 5 doe pop out of swamp in front of me and begin working towards me feeding. One got to about 35 and spooked. Then they all spook and I could figure it out UNTIL I look across crp field and a couple walked into it to take wedding photos. Literally 100yds from me. About 60yds on other side of deer. The couple must like the old fence. Lol. What can you do but laugh. I just let it go. They are still there. I am heading home. I hope they have a great marriage. Worth a ruined hunt.
  14. Old enough to start convincing myself that age is just a state of mind. 47
  15. I had them make some sausage and summer sausage. Was it good, yes. Was it worth me paying them $8-10/lb for it. No way. That was when I started making my own. TF you clearly have the skills, don't pay that price per lb. imo. Something bothered me about paying that kind of money and providing the main ingredient.
  16. Have them on my property and that's what I thought they were. But I am likely wrong if Pygmy says so! Those look like most berries dropped. Mine are still pretty full or were last sit.
  17. Geeze I am pretty inclusive in my thinking but this may be a bit overboard. Sounds like an idea from ..... left field!
  18. Man that is desperation for a buck. I wonder if he ran into any of the warriors .... wait that was Coney Island. Which gang was from staten island?
