  1. Thanks for the advice grow.
  2. G-man and Grow - is it worth putting in 3-4 small ones or are they likely to expire before they produce significant mast? I have one crabapple tree that lures lots of deer early season in the swamp in a small tillable plot area. I figured a few of these near the crab apple along with the plot we planted might be a great draw. This tillable ground is only 1/3 acre but is well protected and regularly visited. Also, I read that they need cross pollination to produce from a different type - is that true?
  3. Where did you buy the dunstans? I wanted to plant a few myself. You have a very picturesque property to hunt. Love it.
  4. Thanks DP - there is an LCD screen that attaches to the back to see what you are filming. Must be kind of hit or miss without it if you are targeting a certain spot. I understand most often these are used during an activity where one is not framing the shot so to speak.
  5. There's always next year! lol If I were you, I would have photographed my buck too!
  6. John Did you get the diving case so that it can be used underwater?
  7. Thanks for the advice gents.
  8. I keep trying to relieve you of all that negativity buddy, but it doesn't take. Hang in there. If I miss a buck because of that, it just means you might get a chance. lol Or, I might film you admiring MY buck.
  9. So, I just picked a new one of these up on a trade for a bow. Thought it might be cool to try to film a few hunts this year - plus I know my kids will get a kick out of using it. Anyone use one or something similar? Any tips on how best to film the hunt? Do you mount to the bow, tree or elsewhere? This has the remote, so it should be easy to turn on when needed.
  10. Happy B-Day - have a great one
  11. Thanks all, I was away for the weekend, but it was fun.
  12. I have a couple for the shotgun. Rarely use them, but they do serve the intended purpose.
  13. Just a guess - drilled and shrink wrapped?
  14. Just got a form email from Nojay - the bill passed both houses and is going to the Gov. for signature.
  15. That's Phade's 400 Polaris Sportsman. We bought the groundhog max at the show in PA, but yes its the same as the one sold at Tractor Supply. It worked great, but I would be hesitant to use it if the ground was really hard or rocky. I think its also best suited for plots an acre or less.
  16. That is no ordinary blaze orange however. I could see Ricky Fowler wearing it as the next major if it came in a straight brimmed cap.
  17. That hat is great. I would wear it just for the comments it would certainly demand. Its on my list for a hunt with Machinist.
  18. The tiller threw a lot of dirt, especially with my big butt on it and after numerous passes. Soil was pretty soft too. I did not expect it to work so well. You do have to drive aggressively, which took some practice in tight areas. Both phade and I were two wheeling at times in turns. Now we need some rain.
  19. Good day for a ride on the bike for sure. I kind of figured F&S store would be an expended version of the Dick's lodge.
  20. We sprayed the week before but honestly not very well and the field was still full of green mostly shin high. That little attachment did a great job. Probably helped that the soil was good in that area too and not rocky at all, but I was surprised for sure.
  21. That all depends on where you are hunting and what you are hunting for. Some hunts, the guide can handle everything. Others, its up to you to obtain the tag first. And, you don't need a guide on all out of state hunts. For example, once I have 3 or 4 points for Iowa, we will go without a guide and hunt public most likely.
  22. Right in your area. They look metal though. http://syracuse.craigslist.org/for/4472839872.html
  23. The owner really wanted to sell the entire collection for the very reasons you mentioned Law. I told him my brother and I may be interested. He was going to put together photos and info, but we haven't heard from him since memorial day. Not sure if he changed his mind.
