To shoot a bow. She is a ham. Hopefully the video works

Belo - think about how the whole subprime mortgage collapse occurred just a few years ago. Much bigger and farther reaching impacts than a hunter lying about his deer. The motivation for personal and optically corp success by the bankers motivated that debacle. I know everyone is sensitive because we tend to compare success even in our hobby, but in the end, if a cheater is caught, good and good riddens and we move on.

I agree with Belo. I suspect most of these TV hunters started out as avid hunters and found a way to make a profession of it because they loved it in the first place. Not saying they are better hunters than many on this forum, but I doubt they are Elmer Fudd's (no offense to our member Elmer) either. That said, the pressure to put big bucks on the wall to justify their product/show/income pushes some over the ethics edge. Happens in many professions unfortunately. Obviously, most of these individuals are hunting on lands that are superior to the average land we hunt (be it managed or simply optimal location). I would choose superior land too if my living depended on it. I would hope I wouldn't fall prey to the dishonesty in which some have engaged. With that said, anyone have a huge set of sheds that I can use for my mount next season. lol

Honestly Machinist, we just cant find em day or evening. Our property must be covered in turkey repellant. I better stick to the deer. lol

Not sure how much it helps, but with magnum hevi mix, my gun put most pellets in a 6-8" circle at 25yds. I didn't count pellets or pattern at longer distances. It was pretty dense though and I am sure would be fatal, if I ever saw a bird that is. lol

Even though you had it tuned, I would also check vane clearance. Put some lipstick at the end of each vane. If its making contact, you will be able to tell by checking the vanes after the shot. I would also suggest paper tuning, but if you are not familiar with it, it may be more than you want to undertake. Improper nock height will cause arrows to spiral and they still may hit your target, but you will lose speed and energy in the process. It will also cause you to chase your tail when trying to tune with other methods. Is the arrow perfectly level (90 degrees from string) when the rest is up? Even assuming your form is good, there are many reasons why the arrows may spiral. Go back to your tuner if you need help and ask him to address the issue with you. Checking vane clearance and walkback tuning are the easiest to do without much tuning experience.

Do you guys drill before installing screw-ins? I started a new set last year with the intention of screwing them in and hunting immediately after. I was so sweated up by the time I was set up, I probably spooked every deer in the square mile. It was tough getting sufficient leverage to screw them in (really just getting them started) while climbing. Bad enough that I swore I will only use sticks going forward. Sold most of the screw ins and bought two sets of 4 LW sticks. They were supposed to be good screw-ins too.

Good news. Amicus briefs are always helpful. -
Take only the bottom portion of the stand and a leave a note with your number so that they can come and get the bottom after they remove the stand. Forces them to call and you can obtain their info and let them know your have exclusive rights. They will not be happy but you will make your point. I wouldn't hang your stands until you get the trespassers out as your stands may disappear quickly with a bunch of ticked off trespassers. If they return, call police or DEC.

Blasphemy selling the greatest hunting bow ever made. Good thing you have another. -
Most likely forgot to replace the plug before launching. Larry?

We have lots of skunk cabbage in the marsh we hunt. The leaves are thicker and more rounded. I don't think that is skunk cabbage. Good news is that it dies out by deer season for the most part.

lol - pygmy beat me to it. Never could keep up with the small guys.

The seller wants to use the funds to buy a takedown model. He is trying to work a deal on that before selling me the gun. He is slow to move, but I suspect he will sell it to me. Its a good deal. Probably blasphemy to most collectors as I will drag it in the woods, but I don't want to buy it and leave it on the shelf. Wasnt shot much as bore is very nice as are bluing and stock considering its a 60 year old gun. A member here also generously offered to teach me to reload, which pushed me over the cliff on the possibility of purchasing it. And yes, the savage 250 was the first to exceed 3000fps at 87g. I think the win 243 (which was 100fps faster at the time) is what caused the demise of the 250. Very similar.

Definitely will JJB. Thanks

Could I have done something more to bring him in?

I have read that Gobblers may wait for the hen to come to them. If that's the case, no decoy and calling again may work. Or set up where you saw the gobbler next time. -
John We had an imperial when I was growing up. Out of business now, but similar to a bayliner in that its lower end. Served its purpose just fine for 14 years of LO fishing. The floors did need to be replaced by the time we sold it. We now have a sea ray and I must admit, its nicer in every respect. The full fiberglass floors are easy to maintain and should last as long as we want to continue with the boat. I agree with the others. Have a certified boat mechanic check everything over and it will undoubtedly have some unexpected issues arise at some point. The sea ray we bought last year is a 2004 and only had 20hrs on it. No doubt those hours are true if you saw the boat (looked showroom) and it ran flawlessy all last season. Be patient. There are lots of folks that buy boats and never find the time to use them.

That's for sure.
