  1. Haha I knew it was too funny to be true.
  2. Looks like I got turned down boys can't blame a guy for try'n. In all seriousness, you cant expect to come to a HUNTING site where 90% of what we talk about is hunting and convince use to stop hunting. Its like going to the mall and asking people to stop buying things that are made in china under dangerous working conditions...just wont happen.
  3. HAHAHAHA on of the best posts i have ever seen on any forum right here. Even though the pic was quite the compelling argument i dont think we will stop hunting...BUT if you would like we can exchange numbers and talk about it some more.
  4. You could start hunting on a budget. All you really need is a gun, some warm clothing(cammo if you can), a licence and a place to hunt. Start reading on general deer movements and scout your area at the same time because different areas tend to behave a little different which is was could be the difference when the time comes down. Its not going to be easy for the first year or two but you might get lucky and get a couple. I would say the hardest part of hunting is the early wake ups that are needed for morning hunts.
  5. I have a truglow red dot on mine but i have never shot anything with it on.
  6. I got a few Stripers in a back bay in Queens. All schoolies up to 28"(lost the 28") but some guy got one over 40 across the bay.
  7. If my son was arrested for a shirt I would be off the wall. I cant stand how kids are getting in trouble for nonsense these days.
  8. I took my last one about 4 years ago since i'm a senior now, but I don't remember it being that many questions.
  9. I think they got the guy as soon as he stepped out. They haven't said anything yet but I wouldn't doubt they at least got him.
  10. I did it when i was in elementary and i didn't think it was so bad. I just thought it was what my education required and it didn't phase ma at all.
  11. I usually can walk in the dead of night and still find my stand because i have been hunting the same place for 4 years in a row. If i had to i would hesitate using a light because no one would see me and it would be a safety aspect. I know its wrong to say that i would do it if no one would see but a lot of people speed when there are no cops in the area.
  12. They make hunters look like slobs with little respect. That one guy that hunted from the peoples porch was very rude and disrespectful to the land owners.
  13. What decoy set up do you guys use through out the season?
  14. It should be fine since we are in spring and the weather should be getting better soon. I usually don't prune unpil early-mid april. I don't like having freezing temps after i prune but some people prune in feb and those trees do just fine.
  15. Thanks for all of the info westernNY! I cant wait to get mine started.
  16. Fig trees love the sun! They usually put out some pretty big leaves which shows that they are healthy and get everything they need. Figs have very superficial roots so be careful with that.
  17. I am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to figs. I come from an area that is very mountainous and the mountains are mainly rock. Fig trees grow over there quite easily even with the hot temps and little rain. They can grow very quickly and produce very quickly over here in America. I have 6 and i had one producing the year I planted it and the latest to produce was 3 years. They don't require much maintenance except for a little pruning in early spring and covering them sometimes in the spring. Figs a very hardy and produce twice a year most of the time but they are very soft wood so you do have to be careful. The only thing I did was cover the figs with insulation and a garbage bag for the first couple winters. I do take very good care of my trees though. I like to take grass clipping and spread it around the trees so they can some extra nutrients. I would also water them every day in the first year to give them a boost for the next year. If you need any more help...just ask.
  18. I have 6 fig tees in my back yard and all are about 15 feet with one about 20 ft after 4 years. They all have multiple stems and make way more figs than my family can eat. A lot of people from the balkans and Italy have figs in their back yards too lol. Its too bad that they dont grow that fast back where in the old country.
  19. Thanks for all the advise guys! I have access to all farm trees except for plum(from Europe in the old country) and the peaches in my back yard. Would you guys say it is better to grow some from seed to make a hardier tree? Most of the apple, pears and peach trees will be the clippings from existing trees.
  20. I am looking to plant somewhere in the area of 20 trees. I am thinking of planting multiple types of apples, plums, pears, peaches, a couple persimmons and maybe chestnuts. Its a lot to plant but im hoping for big returns.
  21. The engraving is up to you, I would suggest your name along with something that means a lot to you.
