Someone is finding a finger in their food one day. Its impressive but he is practically butchering the leg meat.

Its like they are leasing the lions! This post was too funny though.

Anyone have a problem with this post.

Haha its comments like this that make me laugh. There are many reasons why someone would shoot with 1 being that they taste damn good! Let me ask you...do you shoot Does? I have talked to quite a few hunters that believe that you should not shoot does at all and you have no skills if you do. I think that if its a legal deer, go for what ever makes you happy. There are actually not many reasons to not shoot a fawn to be honest other then personal feelings. I have shot quite a few fawns and will continue to do so if they are with no other deer. -

Nothing wrong with the picture but the guy making the comment is an idiot. -
Ya im very familiar with tidal swings...especially in the back bays. Man those are a lot of decoys. I don't mind doing all of that work at all since it would be part of the package and experience. When ever I go fishing I only ever see a few ducks and never the amount you put out...why such the large amount of decoys? There seems to be an art to waterfowl hunting but i'm up to that challenge. Thanks again for the detailed post.

Thanks for all of the advise reeltime. I have no problem spending money if i enjoy it. Ill probably have to ask someone that goes duck or goose hunting. I already have things like shells, waders and other stuff so the expenses wont be too bad in the beginning. I really appreciate the time you put in writing your reply. Looks like ill have to get decoys if i want to start water fowling.

You probably can. Just make sure you aren't shooting in the direction of houses or people.

For bow season i used a stand 50 yards from the edge of a 13 acre field and my fav rifle stand is 40 yards to the left but the field isnt very visible from there.

You could look at the teeth when you harvest it. I used to watch a lot of hunting shows so I know up to 3 1/2, 4 1/2 by looking at body. Once you get to 4 1/2 your going to need to send the teeth to a lab to tell the age.

How many of you guys use decoys when waterfowl hunting? I was thinking about getting in to the waterfowl hunting and those decoys can really hurt the wallet.

I would say that i am 3 and 5.

I always see ticks. Usually in the armpits, ears and crawling to hide from me near the neck. Always have permetherin treated clothing when processing and wear gloves.

I should have hunted LI before all of this happened. Maybe the population will still be strong.

Thanks for explaining how to use a brush. I will be using a bolt action rifle btw.

Thanks for all of the advise guys. I actually have brushes and rods but my father wants to use the twine because it is softer. Would one of you guys mind explaining how to use a bronze brush?

How do you guys clean your rifles and shotguns? I am not very good at cleaning my rifle and shotgun so I want to know how you guys do it. As of right now I clean my guns with my dad the old military way. We use some braided twine and put some cotton strips (cut pieces of new underwear) between the braids. We then put some hoppes #9 and make about 5-10 passes up and down the barrel. We then put a new cotton strip and hoppes then repeat the process. Then we put a new piece on and put gun lubricant and do the same number of passes. If you were to look down the barrel you would think its squeaky clean, but I always got a little residue on the cotton strip with the lubricant. Right now i am reading that i should be letting the solvent sit for a little then go back with dry patches until they come out clean. I am shooting 100% copper bullets if that makes a difference. Thanks for the help. PS: My father was not in any US Military but in the military of another country.

My trophy cam wont open up the setup screen. Before it stopped opening the screen, it would change the dates every sequence of pics and it wouldn't let me change any settings or anything but it was still taking pictures. I decided to leave it out another week and here I am with this problem. Have any of you had this problem before...if so is there a way to fix it or is the cam toast? I had this cam since Dec of 2010 but I didn't put it out until October 2011.

I'm just going to sit back and watch this add blow up in their face. I have a feeling that women are going to destroy this add.

The westchester sports man club is a great range. I think that the guys there would teach you how to operate a gun but i don't think they rent guns there. I have been around guns so my whole life so i was tought this stuff from a very young age even though i have always lived in the city.

You could go with outfitters or you could go the DIY route and pick some public land and knock your self out. I would probably go with the DIY my self because i have a funny thing about paying to hunt or fish(besides licencing).

...or is the sound of a guns action being racked one of the best sounds in the world?

There was a deer in 3M on my grandfathers property that was about 180" at least. He eluded everyone that tried to hunt him. I have no clue what happened to him. I probably should have tried to hunt him but i have no doubt that he died of natural causes. I might have to get a trail cam on his place...you never know if his off spring have come to the area.
