  1. Looking forward to this event! I remember going to it when I started out bowhunting ans saw how much I learned from it. Great for new hunters and seasoned hunters alike! Don't be afraid to say hi when you see either me or NFA around.
  2. Maybe both. Poisoning could have lead to odd behavior that caused it to get hit by a car. Or maybe it getting hit by a vehicle made it loopy. Either way i'm extremely interested in finding out what the prognosis is.
  3. Awesome job! Good thing you didn't get hit by those talons. Wonder what happened, but due to you being able to pick it up so easily I think its something to do with lead poisoning.
  4. I have a life time so dmp's were my only option for annual license. Maybe you have to purchase your license first like you said. This was my first time doing it online and it was pretty easy this year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. You have to look in the annual hunting license part. That's how it worked for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I don't really do all day sits but I'm usually out in the woods all day. Take me anywhere from 1:15 min to 2 hours to get the my spots so I will usually sit dark-11/12 and then sit from 1-dark. Sometimes I'll switch spots and sometimes I won't. It really depends on what my cams are saying. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Both me and my father got both dmp's. we're really hoping to fill at least 3 doe tags (2 if I get a buck). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Awesome! Id shoot him anywhere from 10-1 all the way to the last day of deer season.
  9. Wow thats amazing! I think it would make my season to even get 1 deer close to that on my trail cams let along a bachelor group.
  10. I think the problem is its hard to separate some variables. Take for instance one of the wmu's I hunt 3M. Its one of the easiest dmp's to draw, but many parts of the wmu doesn't have a strong doe populations to hunt. There are however a lot of doe in the area's that are close to houses and very difficult to hunt. 3M has a plethora of areas like that. Suffolk county is also another prime example. The population is so high that you can actually shoot unlimited does there. The problem is the state lands are hit hard and really don't have a high deer population which means the deer that are surviving are living near houses and knowing the climate of LI, most of that land is un-huntable.
  11. Hopefully we'll have another mild winter to boost the numbers in your area. The population in one of the area's I hunt has gone way down in the last few years, yet its still very easy to get a dmp. Wish they would make it more restrictive in that area.
  12. From what I know the deer population in the Catskills has dropped a decent amount so it is pretty hard to get a die tag for those units. Timber thinning is badly needed for the Catskills and adirondaks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I don't believe so. I bought it the day before that policy went into effect so it's free for me. I believe it changed oct 1, 2009 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Lifetimes are the way to go guys. At these prices it won't take some of you more than 12 or so years to pay it off. Got mine when I was 13 so it'll be payed off in a few years and I'll have hopefully another 40 years of free hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I got my license in the mail and I'll be applying for my tags when I get home from the gym today. I'm hoping to get at least 3 doe this year. If I get a buck then I'll probably only take 2, but I tend to go a few years between buck kills. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Okay I can respect what your saying. I still would say you can't stop a person from serving in the military if they want due to their gender, but I can't say that my views should out weigh the views of the soldiers that have served and are serving in active combat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. If your questions hasn't already been answered before, in 3S you can shoot 2 bucks at anytime of the season. It's the same as 1C (Suffolk county). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I certainly respect your views and weigh your opinion heavily as someone who has served in active combat, but I do have a question for you. Say a fellow soldier did identify as trans while serving over there and did his job adequately...would you want him to be removed from the frontline? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Interesting you should say that, because I have seen a lot support from current military members. Everyone of my friends in the military have come out in support of their fellow soldiers. Many of these friends are republicans and voted for trump as well. Seems to me the people having an issue with tranny's in the military are people who are not in the military. 20. Eustace always annoyed me, but I really enjoyed watching Preston. From what ive read he was a stand up guy and a highly respected person in the education system. What a shame!
  21. I have a gun rail on all of my tree stands that I keep down so I can lay the bow on that. I actually don't have to hold the bow at all, so I can keep my hands in my pocket to keep them warm. It keeps it fairly steady so I don't really worry about it falling and its right there at my finger tips if i should see something. Thankfully once the temps go that low where I hunt its towards the end of gun season, so I may just stay home at that point.
  22. I also don't like to put my bow on a hook. I feel like I'm a fast situation it would cost me valuable seconds or add unwanted movement. I usually have it resting on the arms of my stand so I can keep my hands warm in my pocket Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I've seen many deer in Yorktown. Especially FDR park. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. That's awesome! Your well on your way to being ready for deer season. Hopefully a monster buck crosses your path this year
  25. Id say go on your trail cam pics. If your getting good bucks early in the season, then take off as early as you can.
