  3. trust me i know how it is being italian and being in an italian family lol... i was on the Keto diet and its a great diet if your lifting moderately and perhaps doing mostly cardio but if your lifting pretty good its not as great. The basis of the diet is great, when in a state of ketosis the body produces Ketones and derives energy from fats so to speak its about a 65/35 split with fats as the 65. but with the new training program i started on Monday through bodybuilding.com i just can not train the way the trainer has us going with out the energy source from carbs, its so hard... i am going to start my new diet tomorrow morning, my carb intake will be around the 100 gram mark everyday i i will be spot on with that, protein at around 120 grams and fats im going to try keeping my EFA;s lower then normal prob at around 30 grams (earlier in the day). I will keep my Cal in take at around 1800 then in a month ill slowly back down. im still writing my plan up but thats what i am thinking. As far as healthy eating and my goals are concerned just eating healthy wont cut it. i have to be as close to spot on and as much as i want pastas and breads, it will be VERY limited. my carb source for now will be Quinoa, Sweet Potato, ezekiel bread and that sort of thing. i cant have things with a high (GI) and separation is key when insulin is present. ill keep you posted on results, my body usually reacts pretty quick to eating clean. its just hard to tell what i am loosing when im training the way i am but i can see myself getting leaner. Im not lifting crazy heavy with little reps, this plan is great but it keeps me in the gym for 2 hours. It depends on the training day but from what i am seeing it is for example:2-3 warm up sets 10-15 reps (or until failure) 3-4 (sometimes more depending on the movement) actual sets 10-12 reps or until failure. its burns like no other an i have log sheets for 84 days
  4. to be honest with you there is not much of a difference at all... i take an LI deer and upstate deer every year and there really is not much of a difference. i have had a few LI deer that were very tender perhaps due to the flat terrain in the area i hunt on LI? compared to the hilly terrain upstate? but other then that if a guy can say on 6 different plates which exactly was LI vs upstate id like to meet him! its 6 of one half dozen of the other...
  5. i am thinking of changing my diet back to my more traditional one i was using before i started my CKD... not having any carbs and training the way i am is killing me and prob restricting me a bit. I feel a little lethargic with the lack of carbs during the week.... we shall see. the nice thing about the CKD is you can easily stop and get back into it. My strenth and endurance is rising big time from last month.
  6. WOW! that is a ton of food for a guy your size. Even if 7k cal was realistically what you were eating, it would be near impossible to NOT gain any sort of weight... unless you had something wrong with you health wise. Have you had blood work done in the past 6 months? because you might want to do that. Something like your thyroid would have to be working DOUBLE time to process and burn off those cals, fats and carbs. i know there are plenty of people out there with cal diets 7k +/- but they are usually huge weight trainers of some sort and built like brick crap houses. None the less if what you say is true i would get it checked out, something is working either really hard or something is lacking in your body. Its good to be able to eat within reason and not gain weight but to eating for 3 and not gaining an ounce is not good at all...
  7. WHAT?! 7000 cal a day literally?? that would be near impossible to have an intake slightly above half that and not gain anything for a guy your size. You know for a 100% fact that is 7000 cals a day? i am 5,7 my intake is at 1800, as i am backing down from 2200... over the last month
  8. depending how much, id pay off my house, buy some more land and a nice car... the rest goes in the bank. Id deff vacation more also and would love to own my own business... im smart with money and wouldnt blow it, but i wouldnt live like a rich pauper!

Diet is absolutely key Joe, i agree... if you look at most of the posts from the beginning its what i was getting at when RSS was being an idiot lol. anyone looking to cut back on what they eat, change their regiment up and be a little more active is deff on the right track to making a positive change and WNY im sure you'll reach your goal.

  11. i was also thinking of going from my 130gr to a 150gr in my .270 WB. For some odd reason putting the round through the boiler maker doesnt pile the deer up like i would think/hope it would. i shot an 8 point 2 season ago, heart/lung and he still ran 20 yards which surprised me considering i shot him at 18 yards i figured he would pile right up...

  14. no i hear you.. it was more of a generalization, i wasnt really pin pointing you BUT i know where you are coming from. I am in the same boat minus the child but i spent most of 2011 on the house so for the beginning portion of 2012 is my time unless something needs to be fixed on the house or what now. ive owned the house for 3 years now in march and spent just about everyday working on it lol. i told the wife its my time now, she didnt like it as she says we need to do this we need to do that, AKA i need to do this I need to do that lol. she says "WE" like she has a mouse in her pocket or something...
  15. sticking with it and being dedicated to the program is key. its like anything else, you get out what you put in. if your only doing HALF, then expect half the results... but if thats your goal then im sure you wont be disappointed. I am starting to keep a log at the gym now and i also am doing an hour of cardio in the morn and my workout in the evening, essentially i feel like i live at the gym. BUT i am dedicated to get my results i am after and i am doing everything it takes to do so. I am ALL in so to speak lol

Ill just add, i have been part of forums where mods really come down on guys for saying some things people say, constantly warning, suspending, banning, editing posts and deleting them altogether. And im telling you, you dont want to belong to a forum where its heavily regulated and where you feel you can not open up and state how you feel. Those type of heavily regulated forums stink and again im sure you would not want us regulating you. We are not telling anyone to not call it how you see it and we are not all going to see things the same way, thats what makes it interesting...
  18. on my 24 hour carb loadup... feels great to get some carbs in me. 6 days no carbs then on the 6th day a intense full body workout to get the body ready for carbs. i must have had over 200 grams today alone. by monday after cario in the morn and chest workout at night ill work th rest of the carbs out and back into Ketosis.
