  1. i heard early season doe harvest is a good thing and predominantly mid season maybe peak of the rut is a good opportunity to harvest does while the bucks maybe in lock down mode with other does. i love harvesting does and i tend to not hesitate to do so early season and during that time when i feel the bucks might be in lock down. you still never know when a shooter buck will walk by but its still a good time to take a doe...
  2. No offense smokers but i wont miss the smoke lol. i hate smoke really but it is crazy how they can pass these laws...
  3. i have never used a rear tine tiller.i always used a drag behind tiller for the quad... the rear tine tiller will not bounce as much?
  4. LOL doe thats too funny!! bet you'll never do that again.
  5. I was not singling you out personally.... i do not know you from a hole in the wall, so i did not mean anything negative to you personally. Your ethics i do not know of and maybe you didnt march through deer hunting areas, but ive heard horror stories of guys in their stands and having bird hunters walking though and that kind of activity impacts a deer herd as well as quads ripping through and around the property all summer long. All these things add to how your deer season will be come Oct 1st. like i said i am not hear talking negative about PR, on the record. If guys want to go and find out for themselves how PR is, let them... i will tell you one thing tho, i got a phone call from Bob personally in December regarding the last thread started about PR and he tried to rip me apart via phone call due to either you or Mario telling him about what i wrote in that thread. And you know what its ok, but if it happens again, I will not be so calm and respectful on the phone this time. If anyone tries to even call my phone again and try cursing me out and telling me to come pick my s*it up because im done hunting there, I will fly off the handle. literally... I am not putting up with that BS anymore. If a club owner wanted to make good on the situation i was delt then he should have and it would have been find. Throw me the next season, if thats what it takes. But you can tell him this since it was either you or Mario. DO NOT CALL MY PHONE. If i get one phone call dealing with any BS. i will bring that place down with 1 thread... i am over it and i am in no way bothered by my loss of a season. the only thing i can do is better myself for this season and work double hard to full fill my hunting needs. you sound like you are totally oblivious as to what goes on there but yet you defend it?!
  6. hey, atleast the steps in planting them are done. now its just a waiting game.
  7. i was giving texas as an example really... there are plenty of huge tracts that manage a deer herd very well and have it down to a science when it comes to ratios. Feeders aside... lol and split, wish i can read what you posted, my computer is acting up trying to open your link
  8. just because deer are on neighboring property which you claim is posted DOES NOT give club members the right to stomp around on private posted property NOT belonging to the club. would you agree with this? its pretty much what you stated... BTW long island is in no way limited in places to hunt. as a deer hunter you should know this since you would not shoot under a 140 class buck... private property of that size is hard to come by, granted. But what good is 1800 acres that does not produce? Do you think you bird or rabbit hunters do any property of deer hunting any good? running around with barking dogs lol, yeah that makes for great deer hunting...
  9. i do... i have put up hang on in the day but usually in the thicker stuff with a thick canopy where not to many hunters go. I never had anyone steal my stuff on public land, stands , trailcams or anything like that. Not to say it wouldn't happen i just have been lucky. i have been using a climber tho and i actually love using it. i actually had more stolen on "private land" at the hunting club ive been apart of this year so go figure....
  10. always made me wonder how accurate or how they even mange 20,000 acres like in Texas or something. Free range no fence... ive seen them turn in helicopter survey's and what not but supposedly there are plenty who can effectively manage their land and buck / doe ratios. how its done is beyond me...
  11. yes this is true greg... your designated area, is it thick?
  12. OMG LOL!! its a guy thing i guess... but in no way would i try it on myself LOL. i loughed when he said he wanted to make sure it worked before giving it to his wife. and you can not lie looking at something with 2 AA batteries would strike and question as to how storing can it really be lol. My wife wants one in the worst way to keep in her purse... i thought they were illegal in NY but if it stops one mugger and can save my loved ones life its worth it...
  13. This is one of the Supras from the shop who will be tuing my car soon. The owner mike is specializes in Supras..
  14. great looking deer, i would shoot that any day of the week... thats a once in alife time buck, nice rack and a pie bald to boot.
  15. im sure there is little to NO poaching going on around that property to reak havoc on a deer heard in over 2000 acres....
  16. No comment.... but you paid a grand to hunt shot gun season!!!??? holy sh*T! i never did the shot gun season at the club this year but from a few member i was told they hunt from quads, thats really true??? this was the first year i didnt get to go hunt the gun season out on LI, i hunted hard with the bow this year tho. atleast i know where i will be hunting this year.
  17. WOW nice buck, i did not hear of this deer... yeah it looks like he recovered it 6 days later. Atleast he was able to recover it. Wonder if it was a shelter island buck? there are huge deer out on LI every year, some real big deer are taken off the island each year
  18. i am pretty much ready to part with the car... been in the land market for quite sometime and have been following it for 10 months now... i will be buying land this year
  19. nice! that is funny you have all left sides lol. atleast you know you have quite a few bucks going into next season!
