i have 3 pins one of which i do not use.... i have a pin i call the tree stand pin which i use for shots 17 yards and under i have a 20 yard pin i can use anything from 15 yards out to 45 and then i have a 50 yard pin which i never used considering on my one 20 yard pin i can reach out with that pin. i think with alot of these new bows you can kind of get away from using so many pins, ive seen guys with 10, 20, 30, 40. Its pretty funny but what ever works for them. my buddy came over the house and was using his 20 yard pin at 20 and was dead on. we then moved out to 30 yards and he used his 30 yard pin. he was consistently hitting high and the pins were not really far apart. i told him to use his 20 yard pin at 30 and he was dead on again... so... he found it funny i only used my 20 yard pin, unless i was in the stand up high and a deer is in close where i utilize my tree stand pin.

i personally love to sit all day, mid day deer movment or not... i killed my 14 pnt at 10 30 in the morn and also killed plenty of deer around the 11am to 1pm time beleive it or not. mid days can be pretty productive but you have to have the SIT in mind... sometimes its hit or miss tho but even RUT aside ive seen great deer movment in those times early in the bow season if you will beleive that. last year first weekend of bow i shot a buck at 12:30. it would have been a buck i would have not seen had i gone in for lunch and not 5 minutes after i shot that buck i had another smaller buck come out 20 yards right on front of my stand.

i called the DEC and spoke to someone, but the day i called, the person who can help me out was on vaca that day... the guy i spoke to informed me there should have been no issue with getting a DMP in 1C. i just think the girl with the lisence goofedup and put both of my tries in the wrong WMU...

I have a question, i usually get a super sportsman every year and i always get my doe tag for 8W and also the island. Well i think she put both tries in 8W and i received 1 DMP in 8W and nothing in LI. I think she goofed. Is there a way for me to get a doe tag for the island still? getting info isnt exactly easy from DEC... i know you get an either sex tag but say if fill that with a buck would they give me a doe tag at the check station? i know when you harvest a doe and you bring the head to the check station they will give you another doe tag to fill. any help guys would be greatly appreciated! the one guy was out of the office when i called and ridge only opens thurs, sun and tues. thanks!
