8% IPAs , taking a backseat in this heat !
  2. Wow its really bad , I started to run ..... I hate running , but with the gym closed two months now it’s forced me to desperate acts ! Chin ups, push ups and my kettlebell has been working strength wise , but I need to ramp up cardio . I walk 3/10s of a mile to a trail , and “run “ about two miles , walk the 3/10s back , did that 2xs last week, today I ran 1 mile but at a faster pace ,going to walk around a hilly park now as well .
  3. Daughters is swamped with elective surgeries now , she went up from 36 to 40 hours a a week . She also said if Cuomo screws up our schools ( like part day online ) she and her husband will be moving out before their kids are school age . Being a nurse she can work anywhere ,he’s in HVAC and his Dad is a contractor down South .
  4. Husqvarna battery operated one for me ! Non commercial use, home and I cut my range 2 or 3 times a year , which is 90 yards by 5 or 6 yards and those weeds grow pretty tall before I cut them . Id never go back to gas ,starts at the press of a button, it’s quiet , it doesn’t get hot , or vibrate .
  5. Sure when we gather with a few friends everyone sits outside in a chair apart from each other . I don’t care , but I do it for those who may ,although they probably wouldn’t come if it was a concern .
  6. Nice deer ! I’m in Webster ,but hunt a farm in Canandaigua/ Bloomfield . Stick around the site , can’t wait to see this years pics !
  7. Both daughters here today to do one of those paint and drink wine things with their Mom , as the places are closed it was a to go kit . Young couple nextdoor had two, other couples over last night ,out on the patio eating and drinking. Guy across from me is having 13 family members over for a party, today I think . His wife was a true believer prior, their kids would stay in their cars and they would talk to the grandkids through the rolled up windows , now the whole clan will be parting on the patio and swimming in the pool . Many are about done with it here . Then of course the city has just been carrying on like normal from the get go . https://www.whec.com/rochester-new-york-news/rpd-nearly-300-people-gathered-in-the-streets-for-a-party-in-rochester-amid-covid-19/5738676/?cat=565
  8. In Rochester area Petco and petsmart are both open for grooming , by appointment only and curbside drop off ,pick up .
  9. This started as a joke, now of course it’s selling well . What was that , that PT Barnum said again ?
  10. Wife’s one nephew sold his law practice here and moved his wife and four kids to, outside Dallas last summer . Today they’re at the beach in Galveston, they said it’s like normal ,beach open , bars , shops and restaurants as well . Ive never once seen a capacity sign on a beach, which would change I guess as the tide came in and out lol . So 50% of what ? , maybe the parking lots they could do I guess . Then I would park nearby and Uber .
  11. Are you sure ? the order read , re admission , or admission . Goal was to free up hospital beds and it’s common to send folks to nursing homes while they’re in recovery stage for many things . The New York Health Department had initiated the plan which specified, "no resident shall be denied re-admission or admission to the [nursing home]" solely based on COVID-19, in order to free up hospital beds should they become needed as the pandemic worsened. Gurwin Jewish, a 460-bed home on Long Island, seemed well-prepared for the coronavirus in early March, with movable walls to seal off hallways for the infected. But after the state order, a trickle of recovering COVID-19 patients from local hospitals turned into a flood of 58 people.
  12. In honor of your Birthday I’m going to run two miles ! And I absolutely HATE running !
  13. Right I never locked my doors or rolled the windows up ! How many times did you reach though an open car window to shut off the headlights of a parked car when they unknowingly left them on ? It was common practice. Lately I’ve come to leaving my windows down and truck unlocked , just a flashback to the old days .
  14. Back in the day pick ups were one bench seat , the only place for, long guns were in the rack in the rear windshield ,or the bed I guess in a case ,.
  15. Many gun racks in my youth here often had a bat or axe handle off season plus ,shotgun in season . Again pic won’t load , my rack hangs off the front seat headrests , not in view . Really like it frees up the rear seat .
  16. What irritates me the most is I live closer , to Toronto, Detroit, Pittsburg , and Cleveland then NYC ,yet people expect ,me to behave like I live in NYC ? That and it was flattering the curve , we did that easily, so,now it’s finding a cure . What ? A cure for a virus that can mutate, ok .

    Beer

This Three Heads sesson last night ,quite good ! Picture is to big to,load , Population Ale . Got 4 ,four packs of Other Half for the up coming Holliday week end ! Enjoy your 4 days off !
  18. Brought flowers to the cemetery, and cleaned off the headstones , after which we met my wife’s SIL at a school across the street , where we put our chairs under a tree and talked for two hours . Kids all over the school , skateboarding, riding bikes, and the large playground was packed with kids ,it was nice to see . Lots of boats heading towards the lake , and quite a few folks getting beer at The Other Half .
  19. So interesting , thanks guys . I intend on canning a few different things now , I have a set of shelves in the basement picked out just for my canning . Perhaps one day our oldest who now has her own house will come and get all, her junk that’s stored on them !
  20. That made me hungry Bob ! A whole new thing has opened up to me . https://www.trianosmeats.com The current specials page seems a bit lean from others of theirs I’ve seen
  21. Thanks ! There’s a case of pints next up . They’re two pounds of chicken in each jar , our plan is use like half for tacos one night ,and the rest into a pot of soup the next , we’ll see how that goes , , may have left overs for a chicken salad too . Cant wait to experiment with venison , I see folks drop in garlic, onions, peppers, I’m open to suggestions.
  22. I borrowed a Presto 23 quart ( I’ll just buy the same ) , from my friend , came with all the tools and phone consolations ! He also said this chicken ,makes the best chicken wing dip . I paid $1.89 a pound for three ten pound bags , he got his earlier in the year for $1.50 . He sent me a very good video that was very helpful for a newbie . For other new guys , keep in mind while it cooks for 90 minutes , you’ll need well over double that . Cutting up all the meat, washing the jars .bands, heating lids in water, filling jars , wiping them off , half hour to,get cooker up to,pressure, another half or more for it to go back to zero, then washing everything . I cut the meat the night before as well as washing the jars , and laying everything out . . After you do it once, I found you don’t worry about it blowing up .... I may hit up the farmers markets and do some vegetables as well .
  23. Teaspoon of canning salt and one bullion cube . Just following what my friend does at this point , you can see at the bottom of some jars, a bit of a dark spot that I believe is some of the cube . We shall see ....
  24. 30 pounds of chicken , with another 15 soon to be done ,and I’m planning on shooting a doe in early bow and stuffing her in cans too ! Like many “ canned “ meat wasn’t something that appealed to me ,till I talked to people and found not how good it tastes, one guy will only eat venison that was canned , but not needing to thaw out or depend on the freezer staying running is a large appeal as well . We’ve always kept a pantry , but we’ve decided to ramp it up, We plan on keeping around 100#s canned and restocking as it goes down . Friend got me started , he says chicken works well in soups, tacos, salads, casseroles, in other words things we regularly eat
