Corona Virus Thread
Nomad replied to Al Bundy's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Same in Monroe county . I made my online appointment on a Friday , was tested 11am on Monday got results Wednesday am . I was the only one there , I had to zig zag through rows of cones, like they were set up for hundreds. Last I heard my old FD had one guy with it ,out of over 450, and he most likely got from his wife who had tested positive first . Consider this , each firehouse in the course of a week has between 20-40 guys living there , going on runs , with other fire houses , going on EMS calls in all sorts of homes ,coming and going from their own homes , working OT in other firehouses , working side jobs and one known case in months now . Oh and their not wearing masks, in the firehouse . Sorry Biz no bars will be open in Syracuse May 16th , that’s the first phase of openings Bars, restaurants and gyms , are in the ,last phase , number four I believe . We’ve considered flying to visit our friends in FLA for a long weekend where bars and restaurants and open 25% of inside and up, to 50% of outside seats . I hear it’s warm and sunny too .... When the dust settles I predict a two to three times jump in the already high numbers of people who, leave the state . -
Ours isn’t to bad right now either !

Nice before pic. Try not to let the after pic look like this . It’s one we responded to a few years ago .

I couldn’t , but I bet you could..... Years back , I came home from work to find our trampoline pulled up next to, our pool , my disappointment was that they weren’t smart enough to move it back before I got home .

So, easy even I can do it . I don’t know that answer though , top soil, rake it , sprinkle some fertilizer, stager seems , like laying any floor . It’s all laid as close together as you can get it , and it’s good to roll it after laying . Then you water it daily and stay off for a week or so . I just offered to help ,just picked that up from neighbor. Got one beer two slices of pizza and two rolls to fill spots in my yard .

Guy who lives behind the woods I hunt , goes out after breakfast so around 9 or so . He’s killed Toms every year I’ve hunted there , which is 30 plus years , oh maybe not every year but most for sure . I’m sure hunting right behind ones house is an advantage as well .

Back to lawns .... Just finished helping neighbor lay 4,500 sq of sod .

I can only say how it happened to my friend and his son many years ago . They decided to move to a different spot, while walking through the woods they kicked up a Tom. The Tom ran , then started to fly , at that point another hunter shot at the bird, hitting my friend and son who were down range from the bird . Son took some shot to the face , buddy I don’t remember ,a few in upper body I think . The little turkey hunting I do, I wear orange when walking , and use a light in the dark , this is on privet posted land .

I always see that we have enough food on hand to get past any minor disruptions for six months or so . I’ll be canning 30#s of chicken next week , as I don’t like depending on the freezer, and it’s a real time saver, come meal time . Where I buy it they sell 10# bags no limit , ( yes even today ) I’ll grab a couple more for my kids soon, it is up to $1.89 a pound though .
-
I gave away a bunch of deer meat and still have a solid 40-50 # and 45# plus of chicken , a few pounds of hotdogs and sausages , and that’s just what’s in the freezer .

Walther Arms Launches HEROES VIP Discount Program
Nomad replied to Rattler's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
The CCP2 , is $320 , it seems to normally retail for $370 -$400 . By the time I add in the fees that the FFL is charging ,it’s not all that great a savings . Not to be ungrateful, just running the numbers for something I wasn’t going to buy otherwise . . -

I’ve had somewhere around 20 ground in my yard , and I have no clue ! Most were not done by the guys who took trees down , a secondary crew came , to many years ago to recall price . Last year I had three trees taken down , before that guy could return at a later date to grind , a guy driving by to grind some down the street ,offered to do the one in the front yard ( the only one visible to him ) for $50 , probably 16-18 diameter. That was way cheap from what I recall . Ive never had anyone remove the grindings , I always took care of that , something to consider when pricing it out .

Ha if this unemployment keeps up much longer , the deer will soon be joining those turkeys .
