Having watched a canoe fly off the pick up ahead of me, and driving past another guy picking his off the side of the road ,I can safely say, I’m not following the Subaru or that vertical carrier ! Side note friend had his mountain bikes up on top, till he pulled under the canopy at the hotel ..... Having driven thousands of miles with a canoe on top, my advise is drive a bit then stop and recheck you straps , tie downs , ropes and so on ,things move around and loosen up . You could also use one inflatable kayak and place it inside . If the canoe seats and thwarts are removable, you can take them out and put a smaller kayak inside it . That’s mostly good for a long trip due to the work involved, we did it for a 1,200 drive . I always used Yakima racks . I may still have the bars in the garage loft , you could have them but you’re a bit away .

Ya it’s been a “ few” years since I slept on the ground , getting out of bed it’s several steps before I walk totally upright and can let go, of the wall , plus no coffee if I sleep there , right now with a couple beers in me , it seems like a good idea though lol . Maybe ,I’ll sleep in my hut , if the mice don’t mind to much .

Ok I found some turkey shells for my daughters .20 ga 870, I guess some day next week , I’ll have to go knock one down , I’m usually up at 4 to drain the snake anyways . Need to buy some frosted pop tarts . Ive often thought about just sleeping in the woods over night, go,down around 11pm lay out sleeping bag crawl in and wake up and hunt .

Seldom turkey hunt , and then I go out 8 or 9 , with all this rain no way Im going tomorrow , good luck to,those who do . I gave permission to a guy from the farm nextdoor to hunt my spot , so hopefully he’ll score tomorrow. He’s says he heard two Toms there the other morning . I may actually go sometime this year, just found some turkey shells for my daughters 20 ga. ( sold my turkey gun years ago ) while searching for my tags , I did find another sealed N95 mask lol . Got 20 more in route to the house as well .

KN95 masks are for sale at Battery Junction . Com , a site I’ve bought from many times . Four bucks each , packs of five only , bulk orders excepted . A bit higher then normal but less then some I’ve bought from when this started late Feb . Got my Rona test results back , negative, same for my Hep C test , just have Antibodies , so I had Hep C at some point but my superior body fought it off , that only happens 15% of the time .

Oh that’s nice ! I had coffee with two friends, spaced out in recliners in a garage , took a long walk with dog and wife , got a free car wash ( glad I kept my ID lol ) , lost to Mrs in Gin ! Drank some gin . Ate Costanzas hot dogs and asparagus for dinner . I may even turkey hunt this May, something I seldom do .

Where is that allowed ? Landscaping, maintenance yes ie cutting grass, but no planting bushes ,new installations etc . Pool opening not allowed . All non essential construction stopped , I know tons of crews shut down , one man operations only , guys laid off all their guys and working alone . Cuomo , based it on NYC , he talked about 200 on a job site, 15 guys riding up in an elevator. So here 3 guys can’t side a house , daughters fiancé who’s hvac crew had two guys per floor on new construction high rise , shut down , nephews four man crew can’t do stonework , he’s working by himself . I don’t know one person here who has it or one person who knows one person , who knows on person ..... I do know many out of work , many small business owners and some not so small who may never come back .

I get tested Monday AM, signed up, online today , drive up testing never leave the car . Just curious , last three weeks kinda tired which I attributed to just laying around and drinking more, on / off cough that I felt in upper respiratory area , but my GERD manifests there as well , so I blew it off. Then a few days ago I woke up full of energy and cough was gone . Feel like a million bucks now .

Ya well they didn’t take mine either , got a letter they flagged it for two diseases . Chagas which you get from a parasite in South America , it lives in the mud they build their huts out of , I test positive for the anti bodies. Weird since I’ve never been there nor do I live in a mud hut .... test neg. for the disease. Second was tested “ reactive “ for anti bodies for Hep C . Dr sent me for more blood work , waiting to hear , he’s not to worried as it seems us boomers make up 3/4 of all Hep C carriers ,as health care back when wasn’t screening blood for ,it nor to sterile. He feels I may have had it years back and my superior body kicked its ass . But I think of all the druggies I worked on and all the needles in the drug house s I’ve been in ... Here’s a milk jug of needles screwed to the side of a drug house we trained on . If I have to stop drinking I’ll be pissed . Sorry to hijack this thread , I’ll be shed hunting soon !

My problem with the masks is so many have no clue how to wear , don, doff or handle them correctly . Your homemade mask, surgical masks, don’t seal property ,nor filter to the necessary micron level to stop the virus . Few can tell you if they wear one to protect the wearer or those around them ..... Then if you actually know it’s to protect others from you , you have to consider the mask contaminated, after wearing no ? So no touching the mask , no putting it in your pocket, purse , on the car seat etc, as that would contaminate those surfaces too . The dept I worked for still considers a N95 a one time use only , and its put in a bio hazard bag after use for proper disposal, so yes seeing folks reuse ,touch , stick in their purse a homemade mask, seems well, less then ideal, to be polite . It’s kinda like reusing a condom .

Up,here , they’re furloughing and laying off hospital workers , wage freezes , pay cuts . My daughter works at her hospital one week out of four because there’s nothing to do ,, due to cuomos no elective procedures , which is costing her hospital 5-6 million per week , insolvency looms near . There’s not a large number of Covid19 PTs , few regular PTs , no money coming in , nothing for workers to do . Ok I have a stack of N 95s and 2020 ffp2 an equivalent one . I was issued N95 at work , this involved fit testing , a plastic hood placed over ones head and shoulders , an odor sprayed inside ,then a series of movements and talking to ensure you had a proper size and seal . There were proper donning , doffing and disposal procedures , they’re a one time use item , and considered contaminated after its use . Fast forward to today and citizens using , Bandanas, and t shirts , I have a hard time not laughing ,they don’t filter down to the needed micron size,nor seal at all . Then they touch the damn thing, toss it on the car seat, put in a pocket or purse contaminating everything it touches . Cabin fever, same thing at Hegedeons, full beard and floppy surgical mask, I wanted to tell him his beard was like a giant Velcro strip .... forget about ruining the seal .

One wears Surgical, bandannas and homemade masks to prevent you, who may be asymptotic from spreading it unknowingly, how effective that is is still up in the air . You also should not touch the mask, no setting it on the front seat , kitchen counter , or in your pocket as it is to be considered contaminated ,if you wish to follow proper protocols . I have a bunch of N95s and 2020 ffp2 masks ( N95 equivalents) which do, protect the wearer , gave some to my RN Incase she at some point has to work directly with Covid19 PTs . I have yet to use one myself . Ive been wearing this one .

It just arrived today, the other came yesterday , sil sent the other one to me postage due ... I got Wild at Heart because of this Instagram post .
