I was bitten twice last year , a pit bull and a German Shepard, each minor , well the pit left a jaw shaped bleeding bite on my leg . If these five dogs were running free nextdoor to me ,I’d upgrade my daily carry . I didn’t open the vets, eye Drs ,or the public market and it’s all done with the made up six foot distance, waiting in cars till, called in and masks . We’ve got together with friends and family since the get go , one can hangout in a yard with chairs spaced out , while eating drinking and talking . For the record for many years , I was the guy who sprayed down the gym equipment before and after I used it, washed my hands before I left and when I got home . Brought disposable TV remote covers to hotels we stayed in and disinfected light switches etc in the room . I started my shift at the firehouse with Lysol and a rag, phones ,keyboards ,doors ,light switches and on and on . I didn’t have to search for N95, gloves, disinfectant, hand sanitizers because I had them . If more followed my standard practices we wouldn’t be where we are today . Wash your hands ,wash common surfaces and don’t lick your fingers to much . One can live life and avoid a virus very easily , well perhaps not at a population density of 28,000 per square mile , but that’s not us . I will now sociably distance in our hot tub, with a Montecristo cigar White Label and Mrs Nomad runs me out gin and tonics , she’s a lucky woman !

Took dog to the vet today , eye Dr called to reschedule April appt. to next week , going to public market for flowers tomorrow then Buffalo to visit daughter . In a couple days putting flowers on the graves in Canandaigua then lunch with sister-in-law , birthday party Friday . come on gyms,bars and restaurants !

That’s the one state that most of our friends / relatives moved to . The couple who ,just broke ground on their home there , has two, neighbors from the next town over up, here ( Penfield ) , and the real estate agent they used down there, actually was the first owner of MY house here in Webster . My nephew does very well in deer season there too !

True to a degree , however everyone we know who left certainly aren’t “ blue “. From what I’ve seen visiting them in Texas , NC. , Fla and Tenn. the biggest issue is the limited housing supply and dramatic rise in prices . Most of the new transplants neighbors aren’t born and raised there either , fitting in has never been an issue , outside of the internet . Last one to leave was the wife’s nephew, he sold his law practice here and moved his wife and four kids to outside of Dallas because he hated NYS high cost of living and political climate . Kids all made new friends , he’s doing well there as an attorney, lots,of,social life ,oh and his guns are legal there .

We were at the park across from the Bay Side Pub , guy next to us was tracking it on his phone .

The last figures I saw ,was for 2017 I believe, 180,000 left NYS that year for a net loss of 80,000 as births outnumber deaths and some do move to NYS . With corona and the long lockdown , causing a loss of jobs here, as well as possible tax increases on top of already high taxes along with Cuomo’s push to take over / revamp schools, healthcare and who knows what else , my guess is double the number or 360,000 in the year 2021 . NYC is the wild card, my daughter has a friend there that hasn’t left her apartment in two months ! How many like her will say wtf am I doing living here ? A hefty number of our friends and relatives have long since left, and the past day, two more announced they’re getting the F out of here . Two couples over to the house last night ,one we knew were moving to Tenn when they retire at the end of this summer, the other couple are a year out ,and just announced they’re stating to look down south . Walking the dog today we stopped to talk to some neighbors ,she’s a nurse in risk of being laid off , not sure what he does , they’re moving to North Carolina, they’re afraid of the job market here and Cuomos expanding Governmental control , kind of a last straw . Of course Mrs Nomad ,who is constantly trying to get me to agree to moving , has increased her effort , if it wasn’t for, our kids living here I’d agree , we’ll see now where the dust settles on all this .

Best part was seeing 150 or so people out , and only a handful of them wearing “ masks .” Ran into another retired FF, who immediately stuck his hand out to shake . cant load pics......

Obviously pool alarms don’t prevent anything from happing ,just a notification , and one can go fish their kid out of the pool . Never having one my question is , what do you do when you swim ? Do you shut it off ? Will it turn back on automatically? The reason smoke detectors now come with sealed batteries and and a ten minute hush button , is because people would disable them , when they burnt food and forget to turn them back on .

Well I’ve got in two days of turkey hunting , 9-11 ish that’s it for me . I will can 30 pounds of chicken Sunday though , no more getting up at 7 for bird meat .

I gotta say outside of what guys say here , I don’t know any who are NYS compliant . That includes three guys I know who got ARs since the ‘ rona started . My neighbor got one a couple, weeks back , he got two 30 round mags today . Two minutes a drill and Allen wrench ,and the pinned ten round drops free . Very very few registered them, very few leave new ones pinned .
