Wasn’t going to drink till Friday, when we are having friends over for dinner and cards , but other friends had us over tonight for happy hour ....so it goes . Back home , Other Half Canandaigua ipa 8%, very good ! Unlike the picture.

I’d be ecstatic with 4 in a row , I’m awake every one or two hours and up to, pee at least 3 times from 3AM till I get up. Then there’s the dog who needs to go out around 3 or 4 AM .

Ok recap , second time out ( first season in years too ) , On walk in a saw one on top of the big green hill , I got settled in about 8:30 as I don’t do the 4AM thing for a bird . Saw ten deer in the field in little, over an hour , 8:45- 10 ish . Was watching 7 deer looked over and only of one birds from above post , was still in the tree, a few minutes later that one was gone . A bit later I see a bird enter the field , I glass it , and its a nice Tom maybe 10 AM or so , due to a high spot in center of field , he can’t see my decoys , I’m on a little knoll a few feet above my decoys which is why I can see him . I hit my Quaker Boy easy yelper ,nada . Gman , no frost , although that’s something to remember , it was sunny and warm, I never even put my gloves on . Ive got a grueling two half mornings in now , that may well be it , two today a sh!t load yesterday .

Ya posted wrong pic . up to seven deer in the hour I’ve been here . Wanted to stay till 11:30 as I have t be at daughters 12:30- 4 for furniture delivery. to boring though

Oh Idk they are pretty brownish and pretty big. You may be right , I’m not much of a turkey hunter .

Ok just put out decoys and settle in , then across field (225) yards I see two turkeys up in a tree along field ? It’s 8:45 . Late sleepers ?

I hear a lot about fiber , not sure what it is , pretty happy with one and done . Let me tell you it’s a race , as soon as I get out of bed . I’ve never understood people who have time to read in there .... And don’t call ,me sir , Nomad ,Larry , ahole all fit better !

Free standing thing the Mrs has in powder room . My friend owns a sizable business and had a couple gross of those rolls , gave me a dozen as a joke on my birthday end of March . Ya they’re a bit bigger then standard rolls I’d guess 5x at least , I may be on a month , idk haven’t marked the calendar. But I’m a one Time a day guy .

Daughter works in pre/post op, they’ve started to do more “ elective surgeries “ , slow build up . Still her hospital, system furloughed 3,500 , 700 full furloughs the rest partial. The shut down cost them 500 million , the place sat empty , and bled money . As far as TP, we get about three weeks off one of these , don’t ask how many I got .

I’ll say , that’s pretty darn impressive!

Thank you for posting this , so often one never learns the outcome . Personally I’m ok with the sentence , as It’s more then I thought , although I would have made it a lifetime hunting ban , although it’s unlikely any “ ban “ will keep him out of the woods , just another charge to tack on next time he’s caught . Id like to see the D.E.C. Knock on his door about 9AM opening day , as well .

One benefit of hunting where I do ,The Other Half is only minutes away ! To bad I’m not drinking till Friday night . The gym being closed and being mostly home is starting to take its toll .....

Tom fanned out four hundred yards off on big green hill , bunch of other turkeys around him . For an hour and a half the turkeys have all stayed there, now they're moving further away .

Bunch pouring into field from old cut corn . Turkeys all over the place except by my end ....

RJust set up in woods , moved 20 yards to , well you know . Then I could see out in green field a single Tom, I tried to move closer to field and he walked off. Now I’m set up on field with the only hen decoy i own out on it . edit now there’s a flock out in field to my left can’t see them clearly through brush , forgot Binos

FYI if you’re wearing N95 masks , beards are a no go .

Well time to get up and head down .

That’s like 18,000 years from now , they should have some really cool,jets by then !

Being Mothers Day, and our girls being here for brunch, I started with , mimosas around 10 AM , later in the day gin and tonics . No pics .

Ok I’ve given you guys a big enough head start ! Sometime this week, I’ll grab my daughters little 20 ga and head off to kill a Tom, no way im getting up early though .

Great Day ! Samantha came home from Buffalo yesterday, I brought her car in and bought her new tires, oil, change and inspection. This morning she made a great brunch! Other daughter and her fiancé came over and we all, painted ladder from my first post here . Then we played a few games of euchre, man 9s and 10s for me today , luckily two people dealt so I could see the cards .....

Many years ago when our kids were young , I grabbed an old wooden step ladder off the side of the road , had the kids paint it up , and Mrs Nomad put flower pots on the steps and hanging baskets hung from it . Last week I grabbed this one , for our now adult kids to make another one for Her on Mother’s Day .

I’m all for giving them wavers on the tax. However this is nothing new , pro athletes pay tax in each state and some cities that they play in , my daughter in Buffalo , has a client in Massachusetts, she pays Massachusetts state tax for the weeks she works there . The nurses came here , earning 4x their pay rate , free lodging and meals , that was the big attraction , you want to cut them a break I’m behind that, but to claim ignorance that one has to,pay taxes on wages earned is a bit much .
