  1. So I was looking online at the house that’s for sale nextdoor, when I noticed this image of a ghost or some sort of cartoon character walking along MY house .
  2. I’ve found the same thing just the other day . I found that my shoulders are best when the bow is high when I start the draw , unlike how I did it for 30 years . It never mattered at all till I had Issues drawing , now every little bit helps, it’s just easier now if I draw with the bow high .
  3. That store is idk 3 or 4 minutes from my house , haven’t been there since , and won’t even go when they have their going out of business sale .
  4. Well Im free tomorrow want to,go out on Lake Ontario? Wife and I went out today , but I could do two days .
  5. No,idea what a Constanta roll is, I’m talking gold metal winning sausage maker . A place where deer hunters spend hundreds on his products, and guys drive sometimes from states away . http://www.costanzasausage.com/venison.htm
  6. Well I’ve got some Costanzas , for you . Gotta get the old meat out of the freezer, to make room for this years .......
  7. Here we go ...the wife and I saved and invested 10 -20 % of our income for 30 years . We’re in a good place now , I was always a buy and hold reinvest the profits guy . Mostly funds and a fan of Vanguard , got my first of theirs in 1,982 still have it , used some to pay for ours kids college ( we paid all of it btw .) Today we’re in index funds, which most should be as fees will kill you long term , also about a quarter in a fixed 4% investment . I’m a big fan of a 3-5 fund lazy portfolio . So I don’t swing for the fences , currently with our ages I recognize I have 30 years ahead to go as my family live to their 90s plus so,I have to stay 60% or so in stocks, but still more protective then in our early years , I’m shooting for 7-8% yearly returns ,Strong year or not . ive never had a car loan or leased, this year I took a loan on the new car as they offered 0%, put the money in a fixed account paying 3% . Don’t know my credit score nor do I care .
  8. That one is a CFO for hire . He comes in and makes companies profitable again or more profitable. Grew up,in a 1,000 sq house with 6 people . My other one in Nashville May be ahead of him .....he’s been featured in INK magazine, and a Hell of a deer hunter !
  9. My two most carried , SW Shield 9 mm in Desantis pancake , and a LCP with Hogue handball grip in Desantis pocket holster .
  10. Ha, I always repete the counter persons name, so I remember it and can give them a cut !
  11. Got around 5 Millionaires in the family and a few more as friends, one or two million and you’ll live pretty much as most do now , it’s not much considering one can safely draw around 5% off it a year and not worry about the principle . Some will say 5% - 7% but I’m conservative. If you’re young you’d want to keep, working to let it grow to a bit more. This is my one Newphews place he’s a true 1% and then some, 12,000 sf house, he works his a$$ off every day .

    Falling Apart

It’s not for the weak ! Plus Doc is picking out the best of the best and comparing them to guys here. Well Jack Nicklaus sunk a hole in one at age 75, and he a Palmer played better in their later years then anyone here did in their prime . That’s one thing that sets the stars apart from Joe Sixpack .

    Falling Apart

It’s a game of attrition, at the gym there are tons of older guys, most walk on the treadmill and do a few machines but, a few guys into their 70’s are still pushing serious weight and running hard . What’s the difference? They’re the few who’s body held out . I’m sure back in the day the guys you mention are those few as well . Myself at 59 arthritis in my feet, carpel tunnel both hands , two,bad shoulders , a hip and knee that occasionaly hurt . Let’s see a couple years of construction, 9 loading safes into tractor trailers , and 28 as a firefighter , where you’re judged on how hard you work not how smart . I had a rafter fall on my head in a roof collapse, the guys just laughed and I went back to work..... that lead to neck surgery. Im sure they’re plenty of FF who, worked at slow companies, who, held up much better , the can probably shoot their bows fine . Well of to the DR. To talk about a upper GI exam ......
  14. I never check my numbers, I just wait for the news to say one winning ticket was bought at Hegedorns market in Webster . Funny thing was a few months back, a guy did win a few million off a ticket he bought there , which I heard on the news . Id hold off claiming , I’d want to get a few things in place , like move, new phone number ,set up LCC or whatever is needed to insulate us from the the masses .
  15. I tightened up my straps today, and the “S” hooks that go through trailer had started to straighten out, so hammered them back . I need to do a chain or hook up like yours in the front , currently I have a hook and very strong rope .
  16. Freind lives on the Bay, And has powerlines from his house down to his dock and deck area , to run his bubbler ,lights and some outlets. They were never installed correctly, attached to trees no less . He called RG&E, they quoted him like 3K for a small pole and hookup . This will be way more, I’m sure transformers, lines and who knows what else , plus the shear volume of trucks, workers , supervisors , call backs and OT . id guess six figures .
  17. Interesting ! But I pay like $23 bucks for my trailer registration. I won’t talk about inspections ....
  18. There’s another thread on this , “ speaking of boats “ . With more pics .
  19. Ya from FB comments ( my wife’s FB I don’t have one ) he also totaled another pick up in front of him. So I’m GUESSING that truck stopped for red light ,boat guy was going to run it . With no tie downs or at least proper ones. I use 4 winch line ,safety line to front of trailer and two transom straps .thats to go three miles on 40 mph road with no stoplights .ok one red light at Bay and Lake roads . He was sited for following to close, and unsecured load .
  20. I gotta hand it to,you, I was groaning starting my 20 minute drive to work , but I’m just lazy .
  21. Looking forward to this ! Moog I’ll be happy to pick you up, so to speak....
  22. Personally not a fan myself . We did go to Webster volunteer FD carnival, for as long as it took to eat a few dozen calms . Perhaps a real country fair I could enjoy.
  23. Ya not my land, but owner treats me very well, I post it, it’s my area alone to hunt and they mow for me. I do have a very small hut built on it . Some days I go to lunch then nap in the hut , till last light . Hers hut and Buick best hunting vehicle known to man !
  24. I see your point, ( I drive 35 miles each way about 40 minutes in the morning ) but your numbers are high to me . I just drove 440 miles in seven hours and it cost me $36 in gas ( 13.3 gallons @ 2.70) , $15 and hour it would have cost, me $105 . Age is the predominant factor in depreciation, miles is a factor but not by much . But yes as someone who hunts many days that hour and a half round trip gets old , which is why I often just hunt a morning, so I have time at home to do stuff . NYBowhunter, sure I’d drive That to stay a few days, I go down and back everyday , and sometimes twice a day ! After 30 years it gets old, no cabin it’s farmland .
