Right. Some fear guys would flock to,their Dr. and he would sign off on anybody . It could be made that your GP can’t sign off, you would have to see an orthopedic. The form could ask for tests done and results found, those of us with real injuries and conditions it would be no,problem , but fakers would be drastically reduced. i just pulled my bow back 2x , first time since Nov. took about 3 seconds and it was an exaggerated draw. But that was better then not being able to,draw at all.

I told my wife since I could not hunt the last three days, I’d just start those two weeks of xbow three days early , what some call Larry logic . I still could not do that though . A fine would be no problem , if you kill a buck and get caught , they’ll take the deer, maybe your xbow, that’s not worth it .

Last year , as I got near my stand I knelt down to get my jacket out of my pack and put it on, when I noticed a “ weed”swaying back and forth a few feet in front of me . I grabbed my headlamp and what do you know , it’s a skunk , tail up and moving back and forth .... I slowed backed away, and all was well.

I’m going to Panama and getting shot up with stem cells, I will,be able to draw my bow, my hair will grow back and my man boobs will go away .

When I could no longer pull back my compound , and Moog said it’s dialed down as low as the bow could go , I bought a crossbow the next day . The temptation to use use it right away was great, I hunt private land never see another person, don’t park in sight of the road , I could easily walk in and out with my compound and leave the crossbow in a building on site , just in case. A couple hundred dollar fine would be nothing to me, I just didn’t want to be “ that guy” but the gap was not that long, if I had to miss all but the last two,weeks the temptation may have been to great .

Correct , but there is not one for crossbow in bow . For me I’m not sure I’d like using that draw loc .

Friend had both done , home after two days for first , one day for second , doing stairs from first day . Six weeks for full recovery .

I’m in the same boat two,bad shoulders , went from shooting 30 arrows in practice last year to not being able to draw once . There is no medical exemption that allows use of a cross bow in bow season , although I too hear these stories of a guys neighbors friend who has one. I think basically they use one and tell folks they have some special permit to do so. Something I can see someone being tempted to do .

I only shot it because I don’t like marsupials who’s name starts with a vowel .

Sat in a stand today , waiting for a coyote to come along , I had 8 or more squirrels chasing each other all over , falling 30or more feet out of trees at times . Thought the 7mm08 a but much for them , but did head shoot an opossum.

Moog , you inspired me to go sit a bit today too, not long but did a few wounded rabbit calls. Then took down a hang on, and shot an opossum on walk out . Stopped by landowners ,gave him some good beer, and got permission to build another hut so I can hunt in warm comfort .

My friend down the street has the same mix , nice dog . He likes to,lean on me , then I move away and he almost falls sideways each time .

There’s nothing there that I can see .

We’re over run with coyotes and I see a few foxes as well. I’d say I see them in range 20% of my deer hunts . I’m planning on going out soon myself , just give me a call.( phone) This guy stayed 10 yards in front of my bow stand for 5 minutes , they’re all over , never used a call.

Are those in CR ? She’s on a eco type tour, 5 days rain forest , 4 days near some city . She’s going two days early as well to hang out where ever she lands .... Back to beer. This aged well !

Just off nights , a couple early , have to get up at 4AM, to take daughter to Buffalo airport . Shes off to Costa Rico. I like this beer ! Wife got a mixed 12.

He drew one of ten tags his first year he beat some hard odds, took my buddy 20 some years of building up points to get one of five in his state . I have no doubt he’ll keep hunting . He owns a guide service that operates in ten states and killed his first book sheep in 1,969 , has a few in the record books known as one of the best ram ,hunters around ,featured in books on hunting . Normally for,guys like this 30k is not all that much, but his net worth is pitiful for his age .

We started going to S.D. I guess in the mid ‘90’s, was dropping $300 then , this would be a $500 plus night for,me , IM IN ! I used to disappear to the skanky place next door for an hour or so as well .....

If one wants to go cheap, there is a place in Roch. Where they break down disposable cameras( for how much longer who knows) anyway they have tractor trailer loads of AA batts. I used to go get five gallon buckets of them, most would test near 90% or higher. I went in uniform and always brought the warehouse guys food . General public would be sol I’d guess. havent gone in a couple years, I use rechagables or Cr123 in most of my lights( flashlight junky ) Id give ziplock bags of them to friends and neighbors when I did . There are 100’s of “ brands” all made by a few companies . there are about a dozen U.S. manufacturers of batteries and most of those don’t make them for the consumer market .
