The ones we bought have a large UC over cuomo. BUT in front of the UC is a standing AR15 (looks like letter F) after UC is a standing AK47 ( looks like a K) I wore it to the gym lots of smiles, the powerlifters really liked it.... Most there know me. here is a guy on my crew with his

Doc did you read what I said ? Turn them loose ? I said CONTROL what they film and who they talk to .Pretty simple, we can continue to not speak, the other side will be more than happy with that. If you don't want to send a well spoken guy who can think to talk to them fine, but don't get mad when some wacko who's willing to speak approaches them and speaks for you. Last night this ch. covered the local safe act meeting. They showed one guy ask a question, then followed up with him after the meeting. he was clean cut, well spoken wearing a button down shirt and tie.....I'd imagine that reporter will be fined or something . We can continue to say.'no comment,no comment", like all the guilty people do leaving court on the way to jail, OR we can have a well groomed spokesman to calmly expain things .

Oh i get it.I scream at the radio and TV often, being a Gov. union guy rush limbaugh lies everyday about unions, but then he's not "news" from what i see its 20/20,dateline,piers morgan, national news etc. who spin things against us the most .Being guarded is all well and good, it is not being a jerk though. Lets say she was anti gun , you being a jerk will that help or hurt us ? If you watch the local news I'm sure you have seen Fred from American Sportsman, the guys from jackson's guns. All very well spoken guys who got OUR point on the news nothing seemed twisted, seems like they want our side . Its time for gun clubs, shows and shops, to put forth a good speaker just like those 2 gun shops do,with good points, give them your best guy, then they can't find the toothless idiot. You should expect the media to be there because they will be , you can control whats filmed, where they go, who they talk to and what that person says just plan ahead. If you are in the gun bus. and don't have a polished, well spoken speaker,at the ready with facts, you have your head in the sand, pull it out. I have a job that these gals cover, I'm guarded at times on what i say about certin things, but we still manage to laugh and have a good time . being a jerk will never help us, she had the class to not point that out on the news, not sure if i would have held back.Hell i know i wouldn't, because that would have simply been reporting the truth,no spin needed.

I have kept a few hundred rounds per caliber on hand for years. I never got the point of having to go to the store everytime I was going to go shoot to buy a box or 2 .When the prices kept rising I stocked more. As for buying cases, I bought mine when they had skid loads of them on the floor . If the stores had raised the prices way up with the recent run on ammo guys would have bought just what they needed, and the supply would be there for all those without forsight to buy what they needed now.

I'm not that smart a guy or investor, yet by stocking away as much as we could into 'the market', we are at a point where some years we earn more in the market then at both our jobs I'm pretty happy with that. Sure we dropped a lot in '08 but we're far ahead today. Not to long ago I put 2/3's of mine into a fixed 4% general act. and half of my wifes 401k into a low rate fixed acct. took some money off the table as they say, getting near retirement. And yes thats a fixed 4% return guaranteed for 5 years ,its through hartford and part of my 457 plan.My 457 has well over double what i put in spread out over 23 years . I did not yet read the article, i just know some folks get pissed when they find out what we got. Not sure where i was supposed to put our money but I'm ok with that. I think people buy junk today because they want EVERYTHING and many of each. We had 1 TV, one phone in the house a party line at first, my Mom saved money in envolopes for kids, clothes, fish fries, xmas gifts and so on.She sewed our clothes, canned food, grew foods lol.they had to save years to have the driveway paved. All of my Dads hunting gear could fit in a shoe box......plus one coat, pair of boots and 2 guns.Same guns he had since he was a kid. Today ? 4 TV's cable, 4 cell phones, internet, 3 computers, tablets,DVR's giant houses, dinner out , $1,000 bows and guns 6 treestands 3 sets off camo range finders and on and on. We had 5 of us in an 1,100 square foot house and were happy. Today first timers are buying 2,500 square foot homes then,"moving up" when they have 2 kids....

So last night I'm watching the local news a young gal did a piece on gun owners here meeting downtown and working on oppostion to the Safe act. At the end she mentions that she went to two local gun shows to get more gun owners thoughts, but was "turned away". Well I happen to know her ,so i sent her an email after the news ended and told her that most gun shows don't allow cameras. She replied right away but said they were not very nice to her( to put it mildly). WOW, she's there to get OUR opinions, so we lost a great chance to get OUR views on the news, then they are rude to her? do these guys think thats going to help us ??? she is a class act though and simply said 'turned away'. I gave her a couple names of guys in the local gun business who ARE well spoken class guys, she may try to put something togather with them next week.see after all that she still wants our side..... Heres something to keep in mind, your local news, while not always perfect is NOT the papers opinion page, they are not a Piers Morgan tv show either. Some of them want balance, and some of the reporters at this station are gun owners as well. I work hard at putting us in good light, then you get guys who are jerks to a young gal who wants nothing but to give them a chance to explain their side . If you have a gun shop, gun show, gun club, perhaps you should pick out your best thinker ,talker and have him ready with facts to be your spokesman, embrace the News educate them, instead of being the rude ,crude, dim witted gun owner may think we are. Gun control IS going to be in the news for sometime folks, how we look is up to us.

We only got good press because a pro gun cop leaked the crime report to a pro gun radio host..... Last week two Uof R students were victims of a home invasion, top news story. Then Two R.I.T students used and AR 15 and a high cap. 9mm to stop 2 guys coming up their basement stairs w/ a handgun in hand, although it turned out to be a BB gun I heard. The RPD which tweets everything, and calls the news in everything, said NOTHING this time, no press, no warning to college kids "HEY YOU MAYBE TARGETED " nothing, till it was leaked . The Chief kept it hushed up, till he was outed.....

I followed up by firing one of my lawyers , Ted O'brian ,he's also a State Senator who voted yes. My folks used him for their wills,P.O.A's and so on, after my Dads passing we used him for some estate planning and things that my Mom needed done. He got a text from me next morning ,telling him because of his vote, we would no longer need him. My lawyer that I used for all my stuff owns an AR and a Glock as well as hunts. He's in Canandaigua if anyone wants a lawyer who is one of us PM me.

I have a similar story ,thats true . My daughter and 4 other girls lived in a house near Buffalo's "South Campus", not a great area. One night one of the girls is home alone someone knocks on the front door, but won't say anything or leave. She calls 911, 1 hour and a half later BPD shows up ! Now she was smart enough to also call the "boys' house a few doors down, when after a few minutes no cops showed up. the boys got there fast with their ball bats. Nobody at the door, and yes if the cops showed at same time could have got dicey. After that i had to teach them how to talk to 911, so you get a faster responce . After a rash of UB kids getting robbed, this year I had a chat with a BPD Capt. , they have their normal patrol PLUS 10 more assigned to the UB area, and it still took 1 and a half hours....

Thanks for posting that. We were on "days" today or we would have made the road trip.

What kind of a nut job would stock pile ammo? lol. Just because I still got boxes of black talon that they stopping selling to non LEO in 1,993..... I only have been buying one box at a time since then,1,000 round boxes though. Black Talon, removed by Winchester, who then came out with their SXT ammo, some say that stands for Same Exact Thing. I miss the old days when it was so easy to fool the anti gunners, and you could tease them about it SXT ha ha ha

TAG: Move to Texas & bring your guns
Nomad replied to mike rossi's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
One can hunt anywhere in the country, come back to NY for a week or 2 stay with friends, cheap hunt. I have gone to Montana, hunted their great river bottoms for less then $1,500 for the week, air, lic. camp out. I never have cared for Texas type of hunting, but after talking to guys, I may warm up. They have "fenced ranches" bigger then the State of Rhode Island.... -
Don't own one, just some handguns and mags that will be an issue, well the mags anyway. A ton of guys on the job have them, a felony means we lose our job as well,( even if one manages to stay out of jail) . I know some who say F it,I'm keeping it all. A couple drywalled up the 30 rounders , some are moving things to friends and parents out of state , till they can join them there in a few years. One is selling off a bunch of stuff and buying a 1,911 .45 I may have to switch what I carry, but not what I own.
-
I think lots will be buying new carry guns. I'm looking at .45 1,911's myself same as a guy at work is. My thing is if I can only carry 8 per gun ,its going to be 8 big ones. Slim single stack seems nice.
-
Thats the point . Shut down hunting for a year millions lost.Small business suffer they complain to the state, state losses millions all around. It'll never happen, though, so no sweat. Me 4 year max then Texas and that was before they invited NY gun owners to move down..... the deer hunting is weird, I did talk to one guy,$3,600 a year to join his hunting club, nice lodges walk in coolers guys on site to cut and wrap."Hunt" in shorts out of a shooting house, pick out your monster buck like lobsters at a restarant .

Sadly you may be right, I have a 9 round 9MM on order since June.... Even if it comes in within the 60 days (im now #7 on the list down from 70) would I be able to ever get 7 round mags. ? Im thinking of cancelling the order, yet thats waht they want . strongly thinking of a 7 round 1,911 .45 and a 7 round .357 If i can only carry 7 they are going to be 7 powerful ones !! -

Ah come on man 7 is a fun number,7-11's, 7 dwarfs , 7 colors in the rainbow, 7 music notes . Our leaders are no dummies...... -
Here is what you do. Make it so you don't get a NYS tax refund, ok why give them an interest free loan on your money ? either zero out or owe them like I do, I take their interest free loan, then pay on the last day. Don't by lotto (hint you'll now have MORE money) you won by not playing..... Buy your smokes on the Res. Im thinking of tossing our 4 ez passes but still driving through the ez pass lane, read awhile back that they have millions now owed them by folks doing that, and that not paying seems to have little to no consequences . I'm not so sure about hunting though,it ll never happen but if nobody bought a lic.the DEC would go broke, the state would sure lose money, and the QDM and AR boys would be pleased with no young bucks killed ! Yep conservation would suffer for 1 year, hotels, restaurants, stores and the like would suffer, I say good you got our message. Our forefathers burned sh!t to the ground and fought wars over stuff like this, today we worry about hurting the state dec and maybe missing a day of work by going to a rally .

According to the laws of the State of New York, a magazine with a capacity of more than 10 rounds manufactured after September 14, 1994 cannot be legally possessed by anyone other than a law enforcement officer. see Belo my 13 rounders were made before 1,994 and could be legally possessed . And I will strap it back on after the gym this morning as well .
