    Clean Up

Thanks for the reminder, got this one fom last year to wash off . Blood an dirt ! Just the way I like it.
  2. I name that plant ,Bill. Honestly I spent a good half hour searching google images, caution if you type in blue berries you get all pics of well blueberries !
  3. No real pre game ones, but one thing I do that some find a little out there,is I never set my clocks back when the time changes. I'm always off for a week or two then and just keep on getting up and down with the sun just like the deer. Just gotta be careful if your meeting another hunter in the AM.... Oh as far as food always have to carry Atomic Fireballs. Its a tasty treat that last 20 minutes, and I've killed a fair number of deer soon after popping one in They should put them in camo wrappers and sell them to hunters with a 5 fold mark up!
  4. Not a farmer but they were doing this awhile bak on the farm I hunt.
  5. Worked all fri night, rest today, gym and party Sunday, visiting 2 different relatives on Candaigua Lake Monday.
  6. Those sure are nice ,we got lots of good bucks in town. The Lowes store displaced a couple dozen, behind the ice rink held some nice ones as well, the new plaza that land held many too. Around the town barn used to be unreal, now I guess it's your yard.
  7. You have received a lot of good advice here, by all means try a few and pick one that you like, but don't make it to complicated . I stared bow hunting in the late 80's,with a Golden Eagle Turbo Hawk ? I never even seen it till I got it from a friend who used to work for them. For 18 years I killed deer with it including my first year bow hunting. I could not tell you what kind of risers or cams/ wheels it had did not care. I just shot it A LOT. When I would bring it to a shop they would comment on how the black was all warn off the cable guard so they knew I shoot it often. Flipper rest, shot fingers no release , 5 inch feathers, one pin. Few years back I ended up getting a new bow, because I wanted to try a drop away rest but one could not be put on my bow,so I went home the thought ok maybe I'll try a new bow after 18 years. I had also started to use a release to see how I liked it. I walked in the shop talked to the guy and bought a reflex something again I don't know much about its " wall, or risers, cams, limbs don't care. It shoots nice much flatter I'm good to 40 yards, yet all I kill are under 20 it seems . Good luck in your search , but to me its more of a carpenter not the hammer thing most times.
  8. Here is a different buddy who lives in Montana, starting to work on. His elk, 1.6 miles from camp still took 4 round trips. Looks the the start of the video.
  9. Did not watch it yet, but a friend out west learned to do it while hunting in the Northwest Territories. Out west its mostly pack out meat, what with large animals ,mountains and long long walks. Well unless you can drive the truck up,and sometimes I've seen a loader used to get it in the truck.... But those of us who backpack hunt the mountains, its meat And horns cut off at the spot.
  10. Do i worry? Yes kinda sort of. Although I've never had anything taken since I've hunted my spot starting sometime in the late '80 s . Land is posted ,watched over I hunt between 2 roads houses on both roads, have to,park on road and walk at least 1,000 feet to get to where I hunt, most " stuff" is in cover. Yet every time I approach I get a little nervous .......
  11. They used one where I hunt when we had an issue with poachers awhile back.
  12. Around me there are guys who will, pay them as Long as you enter into a long term arrangement. The taxes on our 116 acres are, two thousand and something, idk the lawyer pays them. For 4 guys that' would not be a bad deal. Plenty of folks have cell phone bills two grand a year plus.
  13. Welcome from Webster ! Lots from this area on here. Good job on losing the weight btw.

    Hit

Sorry to hear ,hope for the best. I rode 20 years or so, averaged about. 6 or 7 k a year. Hit by one car and lost it on a turn where there was an oil spill on the road another. Friends have hit deer... Been to many motorcycle mva's one latest night trick guys face slide down East ave..... . I now ride inside the vehicle . I have thought about getting a bobber , striped down hard tail rat. But I've been to so many car vs bike mva's I'm not sure if I want to ride again. Keep the shiny side up !
  15. Somebody will be hunting them, trust me many don't play by the rules.
  16. Idk,sadly Indian Mountain closed down this year.
  17. Stopped at town hall today got 8f and 8h,daughter got her big game did not try for doe tags as she just hunts the farm with me and we use dmaps there.
  18. I'm off to the gym in a few minutes, this time of day it's packed with 'em.
  19. Hard month for me as well the CC got quite a workout!, 2 college tuitions, one Lasik surgery, week end away, few dinners out, oh boat motor repair too! Good thing we spent a life time living below our means and saving. You had to remind me taxes will be due soon......
  20. Here is what I do. I use para cord with a plastic clip. A trick I learned at work, we use rope bags to store and deploy ropes, you clip one End of the rope to the bag and feed the rope in hand over hand, then clip the other end to the top of the bag. This keeps it from tangling and one just throws the bag to deploy tangle free. Now on my pack , I use the water bottle "pocket", clip one end to the cord closer and feed the para cord in and clip the end to the closer. Now when I get to the stand I clip that end to the bow and climb up, the cord deploys tangle free as I climb . This works well for me, I don't leave a cord hanging for each stand as I have many stands and also use a climber .
  21. Happy Birthday. May your best present come during bow season!
