I'm looking to sell my DW SS .44 mag. 8 inch heavy barrel with Burris 2x scope, rings, base. I have the DW tool for it and owners manual. Its been shot but mostly a safe queen for many years. Dan Wesson . 44 ruled the range back in the day . I'm the only owner and took great care of it. I tired to load a pic. but I could not find them while browsing.... and when I can its to big... but its a BIG gun.... Asking $499 or BO. I'm in Webster . Maybe I could email a pic if interested. thanks for looking,Larry

My first stand the Silent Stalker from the '80's has a swivel seat and I still use it ! good stand never had to do a thing to it. Did not buy it for the "swilvel" but it is nice. This year I'm going to hang it right on my shooting range, which is right along a ditch they walk . got corn growing there and my range is mowed which they like to walk.

Your a good man. If you ever got the time and can come to 8h zone I'll throw you in a stand and you can fill one of my dmaps.

If my wife hunted, I'd have ti take up golf of stamp collecting...

Hope your son does well. This is only starting in NYS. In Wash. state you can bow hunt OR gun hunt take your pick. get nothing in bow oh well your done for the year. Out there the gun hunters hate the bow hunters,my good friend is past VP of wash. state bow hunters, its bad out there. They hate that bow hunters get the rut and its a battle to keep it. I think the fact that we can do both helps as most gun hunters I know are bow hunters as well, otherwise there would be a ton more like that ass. Myself I do way better in bow,its when I take most bucks and fill the freezer at will, every year since '88 maybe he's got a point......or just a poor hunter !

Thanks Dave.... with all the crops cut early this year ,the deer all moved up to you ! Well ok I scored just fine, but the farm as a whole did not . But then I'm more south then the main farm. I often wished they'd leave some up , but then again they'er in business to sell crops not feed deer, the enemy of crops.

Well judging by the trucks that travel around picking it up ,I'd say its good. You can't have ANY metal last at the curb for much more then an hour or two . I have no idea of prices, but evreyone takes it to Kriegers http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kriegers-Recycling/169584766390535 perhaps they can give you prices.

I've hunted the same farm for 25 years,I could find my stands in the dark. (joke) All my stands are on edges or hedgerows. I take great lenghts not to go into the woods or brush. I could see these on a stand though. My one buddy uses birch bark or branches on the ground, easy to see and no one else knows they'er markers like tacks and tape.

Yep we ,er my wife shops there. Right across from Hegedorns where we also shop and I buy my beer. Best micro/craft beer selection around . Also love the Genny Heritage packs.

Hum to bad. the last few months I've been working on my dads estate, cleaning the house painting, selling stuff. I had a hard time getting rid of his old school table saw .It was big but well made .Let it go for cheap. His house was on Lake rd in Webster not far from you.

Good job borther! Enjoy your new place. I live 35 minute from where I hunt. Its easy to drive back and forth to hunting land but be a few minutes from work 365 . What town ? I'll bring you a case of your favorite brew when you are in!

i'm not a fan of either group, even though I've been to the first home of the P&Y club Northwest Archery and my friend and sometime hunting partner owns Glen ST,Charles work bench and hand tools . Im not into measureing racks and making hunting into another damn pissing match. Mine's bigger !! The most I do is inside spread. YMMV. B&C and P&Y are private clubs nothing more,I don't think they can lay claim to "world record" anything.Club record sure. But what I think does not count just ask the Mrs.

So many nice posts on this thread, like Doc's very much ! Thats the thing about hunting, one can make it what they want, set there own rules, then still not pull the trigger if they choose. The big factors in my opinon are where you hunt and how often.I have lots of time and a good spot. Got a buck my first year of bow hunting '88 I think and have taken 1 to 4 a year since ( doe and buck). Now I set limits on the size buck I'll shoot. But thats me, I'd be happy to hunt with anyone who's a decent guy and call him a fellow hunter, whether or not he kills a deer .I guess thats why its called hunting not killing .

I missed it, but will catch up. I like many of these shows, but I'm one of those guys sits in trees questions..... Many are way phoney and most have no clue.like a certin show about a father and daughter gunsmiths.Neither of them can have a FFL due to issues in there past, so they have to work under one of there employees ffl . One employee wanted to date the daughter, the dad said her or your job pick one. Well the fact is they have been dating for 4 years before the show... There are 'buyers" on Storage Wars who never bought a locker before beening hired for the show.. The guys on moonshiners never made any in their lives, let alone on the show . Some are fun to watch, but i believe nothing on them.

When i lived in the city of Rochester i had 2 bales on a mechanics creeper that I rolled into my garage. I shot from my driveway,my backyard was fenced as well as the neighbors. I shot during the day to avoid kids as much as possible,. sometimes my cop buddys would stop by to talk, but no issues. I felt it was safe, but can understand if folks feel otherwise. The only folks shot on my street were victims of drive bys and the one kid who got kicked out of a house party who fired his sawed off in my front yard, but he missed,ah the good times...

Nice job ! I made it out once at 8:30. Good news is I just uncovered the pool and may waterski on Monday !

Made it out after work thur. AM hit the woods at 8:30, saw 3 bucks 2 doe.... Went to see what was planted in a field to the south saw 2 birds 400 plus yards away, used my binos Tom with a hen. called, they looked hard but not moving, hum.... I went out the back of the woods and used a thick wide hedgerow as cover to move towards them at 75 yards from the dropped my pack and binos, crawled the last 50 on the smooth dirt. Got to where they were 15 yards away!! Just the other side of a rockpile/brush pile I saw her head and kept hearing a purr ?. Now what ?? left my calls in pack, dummy! Well there was a gap next to pile i moved one step at a time as the wind would blow hard, thinking close the gap run across turn and fire ? They were gone! Must have heard me crossing the last bit and ran off in the high grass straight away. Way fun morning though, from 400 to 15 yards. This was 2 rows that made a"T" btw they were on the left side of the TOP of the "T" I came along the far side of the long part.

I don't know about in turkey season, but in bow season I have about 40 birds all around and they roost well before i get out of my bow stand. Most every day in the same damn trees !

Wow i got a dream job for hunting, lots of time off. BUT.. this May I've worked all the nice days and been off all the rainy ones, add in getting my Mothers house ready to sell, my oldest daughters college graduation this week end and I have not been out once !! Good thing is my land is not hunted by others.I'm hoping for tuesday, a morning in the woods, watch the sun come up a thermos of coffee.trouble is I start nights tuesday as well.Who needs sleep....

Few years ago here in Webster i took a video on my cell of a young buck smelling and touching my decoy .
-
Got two, both away at college. One graduates in a couple weeks, but is staying for her masters. Thats why I don't own a hunting camp....but at least they don't owe on loans. If ya raise 'em right you don't have to scare off boys, as they pick good ones. But then being a saved head, gun nut, weight lifter, fireman does'nt hurt either.

I don't know what to say,my Muck boots have been great for 3 or 4 years now. Take em off throw them on the driveway hose 'em off. They have sat right in front of the fireplace scores of time as well,no issues . Everyone on the farm wears them, all the hired men, they get zero care no washing etc.rode hard put away wet . Are you leaving them in the sun or by a heat source ? As far as walking miles in them, well folks run marathons i low cut sneakers.... Good luck.

Welcome. As others have said its not that hard. buy a Sportsman or Super Sportsman, apply for doe tags in the area you will hunt in. Now what school in Buffalo ? Both my daughters got to UB,my oldest will be in Grad school next year, she hunts deer with me. If you need any help with areas around UB/housing etc. PM me. Some areas around South campus, you just may need your 12ga. Oh and leave your beach towel and sunscreen in Fla. but pick up a snowbrush, winter wiper blades, a snow shovel and go practice driving on snow in an empty lot,not near my cars though ! slow down leave extra room ,there now you'll be way ahead of most Buffalo drivers already !
