I’ve been to idk easily 1000 accidents over nearly 30 years working for the FD, surface streets and parts of two expressways in Roch . What I always told our kids, “ you have no idea, who that other driver is, career criminal , drunk , pissed at the world , angered over a break up , job loss, just an ahole , or for the really high achievers a combo of a few , don’t engage them and always motion like you’re sorry, even when you’re in the right .” Then I go on , half the drivers are one or more of the following , drunk , high, have no insurance, no license, no money ,driving stolen cars and so on . I’ve been to accidents where drivers were shooting up heroin , drunk , burying vodka bottles in the snow bank , fled on foot , and ones who switched drivers . Not everyone out there is like you fellas . Never ever agree to let them pay instead of going through insurance,I’ve seen people burned on each side of that .

Bingo ! It’s 50mph near Victor, then it drops to 30 in town and there’s many who average it to 40 the whole way .

I have that on right now, every time in public I get stopped by guys either complementing it , asking where they can get one , or IF they’re one of the three . I tell them says “ MAYBE three people.

It’s called a farm , actually they were 350ish it’s 330 to the hedgerow, they were the other side of it . From this stand I can see with binos about 4500 feet to the south , but with a crossbow I’m only good to 4000.

I had 47 ash trees in my yard , removed half and treat half, the neighborhood is full of them . It’s a big depends on how long it stands . There’s a ton of dead ones behind us some are still standing , some fell . Across the street same lots of dead ones, one fell just missing his house . Theres no way I’d take a chance . My neighbor had three on the property line and they scared me every wind storm , as they were within striking distance of our house . Most tree companies won’t climb dead trees ,as well .

Good hunt , 4 bucks , 2 right under me . My young neighbor is hunting with me, his second time ever hunting ! He had a coyote right under his stand and saw the two bucks i let walk , that’s a good morning . He’s a cop and the guys at work got him into hunting , so I figured I’d impart my vast knowledge and wisdom into him .

It’ll never happen . But I’d be ok with it if it did . My time there is limited, been a few times , daughter lived there briefly and I spent a month training at FDNY Fort Totten . Went home every weekend on the earliest flight I could get . I truly felt sorry for FDNY guys they made a bit more money , but cost of living hit them hard , while we lived in nice homes with big yards , pools , drove new pickups , had boats, snowmobiles etc . Lowes ,two Wegmans , all kinds of other stores, golf courses, parks , Lake Ontario all five minutes from my home , our 116 acres is 30 miles away . I’m good . It’s a nice place to visit , but I have zero desire to ever again do so . Now I’ll probably have nightmares about it tonight , thanks . -
That sucks. It’s also very common around here . I leave nothing in my truck , and park it in the driveway ,where’s its well lit ,visible to the neighboring homes and cams . Not that that means all that much , hoodies and masks and all .

I really dislike afternoon bow hunting . I’ll take my neighbor ( first time bow hunting ) Sunday morning , then no real interest in hunting much till rut and crossbow .
-
In and up ! A bit early generally I’d only sit the last hour and a half , but traffic then would annoy me . Very still .
-
Yep I’ll be cutting everything up the night prior . FYI , two lids didn’t seal that’s a first for me, froze one eating the other soon . Jars and lids were cleaned , wiped down with vinegar, might have been a head space issue . Also Ball jars , I’ve always used Mason .

I have two non cell cameras , they’re in the basement .

I’ll be out maybe at 3 or so I need to get past Victor prior to traffic backing up , I’m using a stand that’s the shortest walk in # science !

Glad I just saw this mrs nomad was putting pressure on doing something sat afternoon with her , yikes ! Looks like that’s the plan …

Think it’s a pain now to buy guns and ammo ? Wait till we’re using digital currency through a central bank , they’ll stop a purchase with a push of a button , or preset limits . They just had credit card companies make categories for guns and ammo as a first step towards flagging suspicious purchases , this is a direction they really want to go .

I’m a rookie , do mostly meat , now soup and soon chili , just to build up our pantry and have quick meals when needed . I really like the No freezer part as well, I have a Wi-Fi monitor in our freezer and check it daily when we’re away but still would need somebody respond and hook up the generator or buy a new freezer pdq . At least the canned stuff will survive. What still fools Mrs nomad is , “ oh it’s only 90 minutes this won’t take long .” Lol you gotta clean all the jars ,lids, bands , prep all the food, bring the pressure cooker up to pressure , and it’s 30-40 minutes for the pressure to drop before you can open it . Two batches is most of the day .

Raw packed it that’s how I do my chicken , with one bullion cube added and that comes out fine . For the soup we added bone stock to the jars , really loaded up on vegetables and chicken , so when we eat it we’ll add more stock and egg noodles while heating it up as it’s more of a stew consistency now . oh and she put in some poultry seasoning of some sort

You could have saved each Ash for $10-$15 a year .

Raw packed it, second batch on deck .

That’s ok a guy nearby dumped his leftover apple cores and peelings at the edge of the woods 50 yards from one of my stands … must be applesauce time .
