Yes yes they do but different species...here in NY we have two specifically bad ones...The deer tick and then the ALBANY TICK.... a reason to leave and battle things like the lonestar in other states

The thing about them hearing your walking is are strides...we all have a rhythmic walk and when they hear that and see or smell humans it actually does stick with them..No different than us being able to hear animals walking in the leafs. I would hope by now most of us can tell the difference between a big or any buck walking up behind us from a doe or a squirrel... when I said skunk shuffle ...they have a distinct sound as they are looking for food and they sit lower to the ground. Especially with their fur, morethan a raccoon..Coons tend to walk bodies up high on there feet as do possum...munks scurry fast than a red squirrel and greys pounce from leafs to logs and trees trunks...turkey are in groups and can be either strangely quiet or sound like a rolling motion coming in. Some times I have found trying to be too sneaky quiet is far more alarming to them then if I actually skip by them...and yes when its really loud out there I have skipped to my stand and right past deer..They are actually curious animals and it takes some time for them to process things..So they will stand still and listen...

I often wonder if they are less in Ag country where farms spray or use in ground pest killers...son of a gun you guys have me itching. Too bad they couldn't use such a spray on fallow fields ...places deer like to walk through, problem is bees, helpful bugs and of course deer/animals feeding...One day they'll have to find a tick specific killer...they came up with weed specific killers...who knows...They'll be are next pandemic

It's all on how you walk...I use a grunt tube and I will shake the be gee gees out of tree limbs I can reach...That or I do what I call the skunk shuffle..don't step but shuffle stop, do a count and then shuffle, ect. ect.. I do take long strides and step softly in between(feeling for limbs before fully steppng down... just to not take forever. The whole time saying Man I can hardly wait to get the leaf blower out! We are almost there...maybe Sunday...

I didn't go out..Mr B had force me awake at 6pm last night...then I fell right back to sleep after dinner and my alarm went off at 4:30 and I just couldn't move..Got back from checking garden cam...I am afraid to look at it 143 pics...checked out the "hay field plot" remember front field bad weeds took over...Well the frost killed the weeds and that plot is the thickest clover I have on the property now..5 beds all 25 yrds from the stand there.So growth or not still doing what I hoped for...

I use to drive the guys crazy getting up at 4 and taking a shower and leaving before their alarms went off. All gear was left out in the truck or van...But...I'd be dragging back deer and getting it hung by the time they come back empty handed...Eventually nearly everyone was showering and some leaving outer wear out side.. to date no one leaves before light to their stands, I don't hunt there anymore, Well during gun .The only bow hunter in camp...lol

Hahahahah....Here's how tired I am. I'm sitting at the pc desk PC off with the Kindle...I start typing on the keyboard telling how tired I am ,I have to take a nap and may not make it out ..I've been awake since 2a.m. I look at Kindle screen ,no words??? I do that 3 Times before it hit me...typing on PC keyboard..LOL...going to sleep now..

So we are friendly with our mechanic and his wife...And they have a camp and both hunt.... Well they were at camp cleaning brush and what not and she notice a red bite... mark on her thigh that night...She keeps an eye on it but also takes pics with her phone...this red mark turns into ...hahahaha sorry but it's the only thing that is popping into my head as a description...It looks like and angry nipple.Yes I had 2 kids... Plain as day a tick bite...Now she is my age and goes to the Doc. and he says she has shingles ...and wont do a Lyme test as she asked...treats her for shingles..Apparently anyone our are with a rash has shingles She is now having a difficult time breathing and calls again...next picture...her entire upper thigh is flaming red and growing...She had to go to another Dr and he immediately started treating her for Lyme disease and took the test...it came back positive...and that other doctor delayed her treatment and treated her for something she didn't even have....TRUST YOUR GUT!

Dirty nasty things...I finally got the wooded tower blind not smelling toxic...but they have just about polished off the poison there...I need to get more...I have had the windows open for the last few weeks after shop vacing and cleaning the carpets and any surface I'd touch...chair blankets are back down there...Rivers blind was easy ...and still one trap filled with poison untouched The rest gone.

Yep that's how I feel when that happens..

Whoot! ,whoot! whoot! left at 7 just got back...CORN GONE! and they were harvesting the soybeans as I drove by the farms... So nothing but barren fields ...save a few stalks here and there......I do mean NOthing for at least 3miles in any direction.......The deer will be moving tonight for sure....They are just finishing the fields above me and the one behind neighbors sanctuary...

My new stand set has my near the center...the big willow tree blocks a lot but now I can see them coming in from the first drop off below me ..I can actually see the area my buck dropped a couple of years ago at that drop off the water runs into a creek/ underground water flow on either side..leaving the middle dry for about 60 yards then it goes to swamp muck and marsh grass with sub surface springs running the width of the property near the road.

The corn is late this year..just started here a few days ago...That said..depends on how they use it...combined for seed it could be a while...green chop for silage like here they need it semi dry ,a percentage of moisture....

Same here but I usually at least see little guys..also really every year I have at least one basket 6 that finds me at every set, Not finds but shows up, like it's following me..I have over 40 different sets I can change to.I rarely get to them all each year. This year with the corn still up and my planting manly for Turkey things. Have changed...That and Apple's ans acorns galore..

At least they left the tarp alone.. John Hill..only descent one I have had deer season and dog. Issues with...then a couple of hazmat specialist. A region 7 and 9 guys..I had to call because the.8 was useless. Sorry but truth. John I think retired Oh and a Forrester in 8 but he retired too. Ps...I will add this though ......8 officer well I'm responsible from middle of lake Onterio to the PA border..Now if you look at the list of officers per region as listed in your hunting manuals.I can see why some regions might have tense officers.
