You must be talking out of state for you first buddy? Having worked in the pet indistry years ago the owner would go to exoctic live stock auctions down south. There were certain things they would bring back and keep out of sight..Certain animals weren't allowed across state lines. They said a lot of African and south American animals, were sold there..Two differnt auctions each year.

I never see them out and about when I drive by...I have never been one to just pop in on people, it feels intrusive. I mentioned it here to open a conversation and get others input. The fox thing was interesting. I am also surprised keeping wild animals, would be that easy...Apparently NYS conservation concerning making "pets" of wildife if based on who has the cash and or space. Not a judgement just an observation.

When they are up above your plot plans take a 1 ft deep by how ever wide is comfortable for you rag, staple to a rod and wet,not dripping with round up. Then brush it onver the tops of ferns.

Well that would be one way to bring the buck to your place. A penned doe or 2 going in heat every 28 days. We have another neighbor that had a penned buck behind his house fot many years..got the permit years ago saying it was for his taxadermy business...wife was hurt pretty bad one year feeding him. He got nastier and nastier as he aged and the rut was bad. That pen wasn't as big as my garden. He lived a long time.

Fruit is doing ok..though I got a lot of fruit drop on a few apples, pears and all but one plum...late frost combined with early bloom. I will have a bumper crop of Kiwi and all berries. Lost 2 peaches.due to age and boers. I have 2 young replacements, flowered, no fruit ,one older just loaded and doing great. Rained all night again.

I drove by the local QDM place and glanced over at their pond,he built an enclosed area near it a couple of years ago. I thought he was in the pheasant program. It wasn't pheasant I saw..I swear he had a penned fawn. I wonder if he's become a rehab person. What other reasons do they allow the keeping of white tail deer...he's not higb fenced...or fenced at all, do you guys know?

Hell..... I'm STILL planting mine...tomatoes got their first pinch back today...swt. banana have flowers and 2" long peppers. orange sunset have flowers and a few tiny peppers...peas did horrible(fall replant) cabbage great ,but had one nipped off(birds) eggplant is OK but slow..spinach did bad...will replant in fall.....wax beans not great but the pole and hanson shell beans are great...All the beets, swiss chard, summer squashes, pickling cukes corn are up and growing well so far...hot peppers have flowers. The broccoli, collards, kale, cauliflower, and brussels, muskmelons went through their transplants nicely. Pumpkins were planted yesterday but the ones that went into a compost area are sprouting along with some butternut..I planted more cukes, 5 more rows of corn, 3 more rows of beets today. Lettuce is being picked and more goes in today... Now the weeding begin ,I'll weed between the corn that's up and then lay down red clover...the pumpkins will get weeded when the y emerge and they also will get a seeding of clover. Once the tomatoes and peppers get a little taller they will also get a seeding of red clover as time goes on in the fall winter wheat will go in around plants.

Boy THAT was short lived...you know it's going to be a long day when your working and it starts to sprinkle . This about an hour after mail man drives by. Now weather said rain at 1pm, mailman usually shows between 11-12pm...you get back to the house fro a break and it's only 10:15 Threatening to rain and too breezy to do any wood lot work ...Think I'll just try to mow before it gets any wetter...no sun today...

Why Does No One Care About This?

Why no thought as to this possibly being another prisoner having done something...thinking it would cause problems and put a huge spot light on the rest of the detainees? They'd never admit that..It would make them look like they can't control there prisoners...unfortunate accident.." saves face " like that's possible...Bad things happen with the start of one bad decision.. His was buying a ticket... -
Don't worry about the growth right now...perennial clovers take the first year to really set roots then explode the second...Also if your temps have been warmer than ours and you have shade over the plot that will keep growth slow at first...This is a pretty shaded area...first time soil worked and no fertilizer used but limed...high acid soils and the growth is pretty good considering the activity here. crows, turkey, raccoons, fox, rabbits and deer visit it daily..I left a few young maple in it fern wild berries so I think they come in to check progress...and eat some...plus bug for I also left a few big rotting logs in it. if yours looks like this your doing fine..if it looks better your doing great!
