First off this is in no way a bash or belittling your thoughts..that said I do have to ask you...Where you home schooled and do you own your own business? These questions because to answer your above question. Of course it is natural...people are raised from infancy to enjoy and seek the praise of others. It is taught to seek praise in all aspects of life. From family through out all of school and then in the work place. One seeks to make and full fill accomplishments then receive the praise and rewards for doing so. There is nearly nothing in life that isn't geared toward receiving praise from one or more people in your life.. Good example ... ones Honeymoon...I'm thinking one would rather be told they were great in bed then likea fish flopping on round on the shore...Wouldn't you think?

Doesn't it figure...The one branch on the one plum that had fruit survive...I found laying on the ground ..though still attached after the last storm...I'm actually considering wound spraying it and allowing it to continue growing until fall then removing it...I'll have to wait until it drys up...got caught in a thunderstorm an hour ago...now the suns out before the next round which is on it's way. 12pm and a whopping 53 degrees out...low says 50 for tonight but we'll be in the high 40's..I predicted few days in the 90's....not the high 70's or mid 80's....

I think that's a smile on her face as well... I look at all my pics and wonder why one leg isn't longer than the other...or how the ground can still be so wet...I suppose it all evens out.....walking back the other way...lol

Looking good....I'm now starting to worry a bit...little new growth on all night shade family of plants...low 50's at night,low60's to mid sixties during the day. This slows growth in heat loving plants. Some heat due later in the week but we'll see.

They'll probably take care of a large part of the tick problem at the same time...

We finished up the cherry. Pie from our daughter ... so another strawberrg rhubarb pie will be made this week.

Papist, im thinking the sharing of success isn't the crutch of the conversation...its how success is viewed. It's funny that even in a conversation about it, condesending comments were made. Now before that gets jumped on. I believe, I want to believe, they were made unintentionally and without mallace. It's also a double bladed sword...people speak the way they do,and people hear what they hear. Many times the two don't sync. The written word without facial expressions, vocal expressions, body language makes it all that much more difficult. Then there are the comments that make some not want to share, which is sad.. me I don't care how big deer is it will get posted.. i dont post all things just deer and turkey. I don't worry about the comments some do. Great example and a classic: Congrats nice young deer.. Congrats nice jake, i haven't shot one in years bet it tastes great. There are so many and we've all seen them used. It's all just human nature and funnier as I get older.

I believe you'd have to fight Mr B for it... One taste and he claimed it is the best he's tasted in 35 years. Then went on to discribe how he plans to eat it...toast in the morning, in greek yogurt, one icecream, PB&j..ect..ect

To make strawberry jam..did a double batch of low sugar strawberry. 16, 1/2 pints worth...now I need to freeze the two quarts I cleaned today. I have to say it turned out great. The patch has payed for itself 3 x's oved already.

I don't think that in an area of diverse food sources, high pressure and large doe populations can be strategically calculated as far as time nor distance. I haven't seen it here. When I shot one of my 8pt a few years ago...not a big 8, but surely a trophy for the poor guy that scouted and filmed him all summer and set up at just the right times...to have me shoot him 1/2 mile away during one of those "routine" times he'd so carefully recorded prior to season. He sent me a trail cam pic of him. Who knows what caused his change...luck as far as I'm concerned. All areas are different. I shot my big swamp buck a few hours after setting up...I mentioned on here hadn't been down there for years but knew big buck hit that area..he just cruised by with an easy shot...the big ten the following year same area no scouting..it's not needed it's a swamp...but see he had the luck and never gave me a good shot be fore spotting me and I shot high as he loaded his legs for the jump his good luck...This is what skill is: Skill is what people have when they spend a lot of time before and during season and get a big deer..sounds great he had the skill...but same scenario with no deer...he had bad luck Guy knows an area and gets a deer 5mins after sitting down, he's just lucky...never mind he knew where to go to sit. Eye of the beholder.... just as the size of a trophy...each beholders tag for it....

In a nut shell ...and shot placement...I take more pride in shot placement then the deer...I had little or nothing to do the what the deer grew into, nor the fact it came within shot range at said time and said spot...I move like they do. So it is luck,pure and simple...but my shot placements are me. Nothing can effect that but me and my judgement at the time. I have mentioned this in my deer take posts..nice deer but proud of the shot.

Mr B sends me in for the air conditioner and a noise in the front end... Well air is easy fix, it was a small leak and part replacement...The noise... ball joints struts and rocker arm both sides....600 in parts + labor...That will teach him for driving my car...lol The joys of living where back roads are your main roads I suppose. Seriously, good thing he did, the stereos too loud for me to hear noises...I thought the breaks were going... So they sent me home with a loaner...great guys and fairly priced...Dang! weddings, parties, birthdays galore and always some mechanical thing found in the summer...June has entered the list of months I'd just as soon skip...

I hunt for the experience,words nor picture can always convey what that was at the moment. There are many types of challenges deer can offer, be them big or small. One of my biggest was dumb as a box of rocks, and guys went nuts when they saw him. Another was just running by,probably running from someone else. That said I have had small ones shot because of the challenge they did give me. Like being spooked but then circling into range. Running then coming back twice. Walking around looking up. A buck in the rut is dumb across the board,there wil always be big deer in swamps,corn, beans,ww or under acorns. The challenge...aaahhhh sometimes I have to laugh...

Perhaps if all the rural well users in NYS had any LEGAL rights and protections ,attitudes would shift. Right now in NYS well owners have no state protections. I have been down that road.
