Thats good, mine is as well. Hope you having better luck with weeds, then I. The new woodland plot's not bad. The new hay .ay be a loss...the 2yr. old clover just got disced with the paddock plot today. I'm not sure what or when I'll plant that. Rains do so I'll see how weed seed takes then work it again with the drag before planting.Sprayed part oof the lower fields today. Got some perennials in a disced area ,thistle, nightshade and dandelions. Give them a few days then drag that up a couple of times before planting clovers with a cover...may go with alfalfa there as a well..

OK guys I'm not telling you what to think or say, LET ME MAKE THAT CLEAR. Though we do have several fighting, name calling bashing threads, over the whole CWD thing, so can we steer this toward the mineral aspect..the CWD is just the cause of removal. Stubborn... I know that have the 64 is granular but do they also have the fine powder he spoke of? I looked and didn't see any... I don't know exactly whats in it but I assume a good amount of salt? I can't imagine putting a mount of salt over your land for many years would be a good thing. Saying this knowing that regular fertilizers deposit a certain amount of salts...Now he(Grant) is moving away from fertilizing with the crop rotations and no till system he has...So Joe Shmoe food plotter may not realize this...Then fertilizes heavy, plus adds the powdered trophy rock or tries cattle, trace minerals in a bag...Of course you have the more the better attitude and they can't understand why things aren't growing so well. I ad soil trace minerals but they are incorporated into the soil like any fertilizer...not sprinkled on ,What I assume are usually damp plants waiting for the rains to wash it in...have to say it makes me laugh thinking about him saying that. So back to the difference I wonder ,this move will have on a wild herd that developed it's bone and mass through feeding.... I wonder how long it would take to show the difference if there were to be some and how pronounced that difference would be. I also wonder if this will curb the blue tongue that has been killing his deer....feed them salt they need to seek water...the midges that cause it are on the shores of the water...now deer actually can derive a good part of their water needs from eating those dew laden plants...does his mineral licks drive them to bigger water sources exposing them to that danger?

right now. The WW is just about ready to fall and they are hammering it ,but not as hard as the WR that they have flattened in one area...There are dusting bowls and turkey droppings everywhere...Then there are the mulberry trees...that are absolutely PACKED with berries and dropping them big time...The wild bramble patches have wild blk. and red raspberries ripening and the honey suckle are loaded with their bright red berries. Then mix in the inch long grass hoppers everywhere...I haven't seen a poult but the big birds are all over..

I don't know...may loose that hay plot it is a solid carpet of one of the worst weeds on our place...even though that area was kept pretty clean due to being the pumpkin ,winter squash and melon plot last year and sweet corn the two years before...woulddn't be bad but these weeds have massive tight fibrous roots that bind all the soil in the top 4 inches. and they flower and set seed in less then 2" of growth...It is one of the worst on the place...worse than the Chinese garlic https://duckduckgo.com/?q=garden+weeds+identification&t=ffhp&dbexp=a&ia=images&iax=1&iai=http%3A%2F%2Fi.stack.imgur.com%2FoIw2O.jpg

Thanks to whoever deleted the other 2 repeats. The Kindle was on a tear last night..probably from a low battery . Anyways..... This would have been an excellent experiment to actually see what the difference in rack and body size would be after a few years of no added minerals. He really could have embraced a good study on the time it would take to reverse the progress his supplements produced or if just the high protein forage he provides would maintain the body and rack size of the buck on his place. Unfortunately he immediately went to interpretation of the law and described his way out, as it were, to these new rules...He explains the new approach then you can catch that "interpretation" at the end , in a few quick words...I had to laugh but was a bit disappointed at the same time. It makes me wonder if either Trophy rock will introduce a powdered form or if he'll do so for a pulverizing machine. the above starts at 12:32 on the clip.... http://www.growingdeer.tv/#/food-plots-predators-protection-and-possibilities

Ya know I've lived here since our daughter was in 6th grade and now she is 35. I have ran several cams for years. I'm on the property 24 /7. I know we have bears..the neighbors have seen bears a lot, yet I have just one sighting in person on our place..several not far away ,and one trail cam pic. This after all these years and tracking one through the place in the snow..past 6 cams, all behind them.. Same with bob cats, and porcupine, fisher. Just one sighting in person in all these years and no pics.

It was the lane way turnips from last year...I went down and mowed then a week or so later I went down and disced the area up..the next day I went down and limed it then went down and lightly disced it again. So yesterday I went down and cut a bunch of trees and many of them went across the entire width of the lane way Today I went down to finish clearing the tops out to the fence row...I look down and that lane way is a mass of turnip sprouts ...Unfortunately I hadn't dragged it. I was planning that at planting to tear up new growth weeds Ooopppsss. The tractor compacted most of it,so thats not too bad. I trampled a lot while moving tops but can always over seed... that was a time and money saver all I need to do is fertilize it with the hand spreader.

I always enjoy your posts and pics...We are in another young buck doe/ fawn year...no complaints. Though it means I won't have any nice buck pics and what ever happens this fall will be, hopefully, fun surprises. All the soybeans are a couple of miles away this year...and the farmer is having his pea field hand picked so I'm pretty sure I know exactly where those bachelor groups are right now.
