  1. What a blowout game...between the two teams didn't make a difference for me as a Dolphins fan, was more routing for my squares but I was expecting it to be a close game at least.,,,and yeah I know, not many of us Dolphin fans left around - LOL!
  2. Terry, you're going to love hare hunting...I try to head up to Fort Drum once a year for a weekend of hare hunting but couldn't make it up this year. We don't use a dog either...concentrate on the younger conifers and younger thick edges of forest moving real slow...you'd be surprised how tight they sit sometimes so you'll have to walk right up to each piece of cover
  3. Gonehntn that's a good price, I never heard of that site before...Thanks for the info
  4. Grizz, Sweet video...Congrats on an AWESOME Hunt and an AMAZING Trophy!
  5. Are any of you guys familiar with or use the GamePlan Gear FullRut Back Pack...My wife knew that my backpack was getting very worn and that I wanted to get another one next season that was a little bigger, so she surprised me with this one from Dick's the other day. Seems like a decent pack but I thought it was a little pricey...$100. Looking forward to breaking it in this turkey season and then using it next deer season.
  6. Saw this and thought it was funny but it makes a good point!
  7. Yeah, Like everyone else said, no matter how good you feel....listen to the doctor and take it easy. I went to work the next day and wouldn't you know it, with my luck had a foot chase and a fight halfway through the shift. All I can say is....grapefruits....you get the picture! Listen to the doctor and take it easy! Good Luck!
  8. I agree with everyone else, that it's about shot placement and knowing your shooting capabilities as well as limitations but all in all...if you're not stuck with only that gun or round I think you'd be happier with the results of a different load. I used a rifle for the first time this year. After a lot of research I settled on a .30-06 because I was hoping to use the same rifle out west in the future as well. Once sighted in, the rifle was a tack driver and I ended up dropping an 11 Pointer at about 80 yards on the last day of NY's Gun Season...He was quartering away from me hard and the round entered behind his shoulder taking out his lung and exiting through the opposite side of his neck also taking out the carotid artery...he bounded two times dropping each time before going down a final time...dead in less than 10 seconds!
  9. Good deal if the layering between the two guns with the wall and padding is thick enough so not to cause problems by the gun forms rubbing on eachother through the material
  10. Four Seasons...Yeah, that was the same piece of property you saw that mountain lion on, right.......LOL
  11. If it was obvious that the deer was truly suffering like this one appears to be I would put it down...I think it's the humane thing to do! Just the thought of what that deer is going through and how much suffering he will do as he gets closer to death from infection or a weakening body from not being able to cope with the elements as he weakens. But I would have to make a judgement call after actually physically seeing him and his condition rather than just from a picture...although the pic does look preety bad! Good luck finding the sheds ... I would imagine that they wouldn't be too far and I'd be looking for them while carrying a shotgun..."rabbit hunting"
  12. Nice video...Congrats on the doe!
  13. Nice...Congrats on the doe! Boy do I wish I was still hunting! Oct 1 is 261 days away........that's depressing!
  14. Hey Wooly, yesterday while rabbit hunting I saw a half racked 6 or 8 point...I headed through the area he came from pretty good but didn't find the dropped side......Question for you. Once they drop one side, about how long until they drop the other side?
  15. WesternNY..Thanks for the info! I'm going to plan on being there for the first session!
  16. Yep, tossing around some ideas in my head too after rabbit hunting last week...Getting out again for some rabbits when the weather breaks Friday...and will be finalizing picking a spot between a bedding area and some woods for a small food plot I've been wanting to put in for a couple years now and picking a spot behind the pond area to plant some apple trees. Also working on a spot I've been wanting to construct and brush in a ground blind.
  17. Great looking mount and great buck!
  18. Wow, that brings back some memories...I used to keep a couple judo points in my quiver all the time while deer hunting. I haven't done that in years...I think I'll plan on doing that again starting next season. I never got a rabbit with my judos but one year I got lucky on a grouse that was walking by my stand...pretty cool way to take a grouse but I remember the judo tip ripped him up pretty good - still tasted great!
