    Deer camp is my buddies house and before that was my dad and I in a trailer ,we always just ate tv dinners for every meal. I guess ive never actually been to an official "deer" camp.

    I have tomorrow off work ,i'll grab the Henry 30 30 and 30-06 APEX and make sure they still shoot where im aiming.

    I looked into it tonight , there is 2 models . a 2900 and a 3900 ,the 3900 seems to built a little more rugged and has a 10 year warranty compared to the 2900 5 year warranty . the price difference was 20 dollars.

    For the guys that don't use their oven ,what are you using ? I used to use my parents oven for making jerky because it was electric ,our gas stove will stink up the house something fierce from the burner turning on and off to regulate the temp with the door slightly open.

    Took this guy at 40ish yards(I think 42) on the ground today. He either turned or was quartering to more then I thought ,the arrow came out by the back leg . Light snow on the ground made for an easy track that would have been tricky with little to no blood .

    I use mine so much between shooting all summer ,hunting and 3D leagues so i spent a little more and got a leupold , the read out is very bright red compared to a bunch of the other brands that are that non illuminated greyish color.

    I just dabbled into the wonderful world of Marino wool. I didn't go for the minus33 brand . Before next season I will . The stuff I bought was 40 percent marino wool and it made a difference. I just picked up some Kentucky royalty socks that are alpaca and are definitely the warmest socks I've owned.

    I'll make the walk to the top of the hill ,if it's too windy I'll still hunt in to the wind down to where they hang out when it gets too windy .

    I dealt with that weather in 9H this afternoon as well. I climbed down and went In the pines to get out of the wind and it eventually calmed down ,went back to my stand and 5 minutes later the wind kicked up again.

    Sat from 12:30 til light out in the cold rain/snow/wind . Saw 2 doe 100 yards away the whole time. Tried out my new socks and they are amazing ,my feet always get cold and they did get cold again but not as quick and not as cold as normal . The brand is Kentucky royalty ,super happy with them.
