A friend (sadly deceased) used to make incredible turtle chowder with snappers.

It was fun! A good mess of fish didn't see sunset........ Nice to meet you also Rob and thanks for bringing the sausage & cheese, they're going to be my cocktail hour snack for the next few days. BTW, I can filet much better than I showed yesterday but I was sandbagging, no need to take the limelight from you & Dan.

Just out of curiosity, who’s the worst filet’er you seen??

What's the farthest/shortest shot you've made.

Bow, straight down and maybe 30-35. Gun, IDK maybe 15-20 and longest I think was 235 in Pennsylvania. -
Just throwing this out there; I could use some pots & pans for camping. Just saying.......

Have a great birthday PREDATE!!!!

I forgot I took a picture of the eggs. May 8th.........
-
The nest is on an aluminum extension ladder that hangs on the back of the building at work. I saw the eggs a few weeks ago and now they're read to go off on their own. Fortunately that particular ladder get little action. I took this picture yesterday........

5.......least ever with nothing killed. 4 years ago I hunted three and killed two adults. This year my heart and body weren’t in it. A fall from a ladder a week before Opening Day put a hurting on me then just s few days into the season I think I cracked or bruised a rib and that heart like a mofo on the last day I hunted. That told me I was done.....it hurt pretty bad but only when I breathed. Next year will be different I hope.

Spurs.......(one pair from last spring has to be strung on yet) Since fans are being shown; here's a couple pics of three at home: At the bottom of my basement stairs since 1991, stapled to cupboard doors and seen by a few members here- And in the stairwell going into my basement hangs a very special turkey fan and back feathers. Special because I hunted him for a bunch of consecutive days before killing him about a mile from where we started to battle on the second last day of the season late in the morning. Not much too look at but every day as I go out the door or into the basement he reminds me of the day. The only other "mount" I have of a gobbler hangs at the Buffalo Gun Center on their wall as a donation. My wife diodn't like it so I asked them if they wanted to hang it up after they remodeled quite a few years ago. They took it and there it hangs, as we speak. He was a dandy and proved to be worthy adversary too. I don't have any pics of him in the store, drive up if you want to see it. (maybe buy a gun or some ammo?)
