    If you play the wind/hunt right, they'll never smell you........and whatever you do to try an eliminate odors, they'll smell THAT instead.

    Little Joe is having a Birthday but not just any Birthday, his 21st He doesn't visit us much these days but he left a good impression on a bunch of us here in the early years of this site. Joe, if you sneak in and take a peak here, Happy Birthday kiddo!! Hopefully things are going well for you.

    My good buddy Tom always says, "aim at the lower third of the chest". That way if you hit high a little high, you're good. If the shot is a little low, it's a worm burner. If the deer DOES drop, you're still in the honey hole. If the deer doesn't move a muscle and your aim is true, you Da Man!! One of my best.............

    Mine did that last year but didn’t go far at all. He didn’t go far but hardly bled at all. I had barely a pin head when I quit the night I shot him then had snorting and thundering hooves at the last blood. Decided to stop until morning, found him deader than a Door nail 35 (?) yards away the next morning. High lung.....

    Great fishing of all types.......oh yea, the lake; "Lake Alice" is the dammed up portion of the Oak Orchard River. You know, the place they MURDER the salmon & steelhead!! The lake itself is home to fine largemouth, smallmouth and panfish of all sorts. I hear a walleye or two can be caught by a patient type. One more thing, a guy that is into bow fishing could NEVER run out of carp to target!!

    And, now that I think of it.....WTH are you doing taking the first two days off? I doubt you have that much vacation time, why burn it THEN? How about the last week of October? That's when you should be taking time to hunt......

    I was a traditional shooter at two points in my life.......the first early years when compounds were just coming in from about 76-81 or so (I'd need an FBI investigation to really nail the dates down) then got a compound in late 82. Hunted with that until approx. 1987 when I went back to traditional. Stuck with that until 1999, compounds since then.

    Here is solid advice......ABOVE. 8x30 or 8x32 is really all you need in NYS. Like a handgun, if it’s too big it’ll be left at home.
