Junkyard buck tries to back down 8 pt.
Lawdwaz replied to Buckstopshere's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
You sure are getting some great post season action. -
Good question........and, have you shot the gun at 300 to check the drop on it?
-
Not wet at all because it was mostly froze....... I see they built a new covered area over the archery range shooting area, built by Parco and very nice! And yes, I was all alone and enjoyed myself.

To think I was within 10 miles and slummin' spaghetti.

Other misc pics from the trip.... (the wagon is for hauling everything from the parking lot to the benches 250 yards away)

I got all my work done this morning and early afternoon and the headed up to the club. I took two rifles: the Tikka .223 and the .260 Remington. I had to/wanted to clean up the necks on some .260 Lapua brass recently and needed to get 5 down range to confirm the load. The Tikka goes just because I really enjoy whacking away with it. The 260's group is on the left and the 223 is in the right. Each group is 5 shots.....100 yard groups. No record breaking groups but fun nonetheless. The Tikka is the gun in the bench, the Remington is sitting on top of the case

Are all those pizza boxes in the background? Dang, must been a heck of a party for the Little Guy!!

I'm NOT much of a rifle guy...???
Lawdwaz replied to wooly's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I don't remember the bullet but IIRC it was a Nosler BT 150gr .308 bullet. Same as what your gun will be launching wooly except mine was shot a little faster out of my 300WSM. IIRC (man its tough getting old) the shot was about 100 yards. Damage was considerable but my friend did skin the 'yote for selling. Plenty of crafty material left over I'm sure......... -
Two things......I watched it on the news this morning and they didn't say why they didn't use the tazer but yes, the reason why was in article in the attached link. Amazing they don't have tazers..... And as far as the heavy clothes; he wasn't wearing anything too heavy and if he WAS, dial the juice up.

Here's a Kimber Montana 7mm-08 from the Buffalo Gun Center, brand spanking new for $950 http://www.gunsinternational.com/guns-for-sale-online/rifles/kimber-rifles/kimber-montana-84m.cfm?gun_id=100793555 A little more attractively priced! Sucks on the sales tax/shipping but it is what it is.

This is one of those things that just leaves me scratching my head: http://wivb.com/2016/12/31/bpd-hit-man-with-police-vehicle-after-he-threatens-officers/ Heck, there's no bigger supporter of the police than me but damn........ The stun gun must have have been out of ammo?

Great picture Jeremy! Looks like the little guy is having a wonderful day..........enjoy the time. Is that Wrights Corners Fire Hall?

If any local guys are looking to do some jump shooting, the little creek on the north side of the Tractor Supply parking lot in Lockport is LOADED with some beautifully colored mallards. Their guard rail would give you good cover while sneaking in. Good luck.............

Oak, you NEED to write for the Buffalo News. They need you bad..............

With my smokeless muzzleloader I'm not too worried about long distance shooting. I'm an inch high at a 100 yards and low at 200 yards. I don't have the actual count on how many deer I've killed with it but it has to be close to 20 now....and another 7-10 with other muzzleloaders and there hasn't been a deer killed past 175 yards yet with any of them. Maybe you have some opportunities in your locale for some longer distance shooting and can justify the BDC reticles but for me, I'm VERY confident out to 200 then I'm probably passing on the shot. Good luck with your choice!

In this picture from last winter, you'll note that this immature bald eagle is looking up. The reason is there were crows dive bombing him, same as in your picture.
-
I generally shoot with both eyes closed so it's basically a blank bale...... Joking of course but I have done in the past when I was shooting traditional gear. Good for you giving it so much time!!
-
Wonderful! Congrats to all involved.............Looking forward to pics as they grow.

As Charlie Brown would say "Good Grief"........56 birthdays today. I don't know where to start with the wishes.

I don't follow much football but enjoy the heck out of a good game. Seems I'm too busy in the fall doing something I enjoy more. There was some good football yesterday and like you said, the National Championship Game "should" be good. Go BAMA!!

Perfect, I slept right through New Years. I think I heard some fire works from a neighbor but it mustn't have been good quality stuff, just a few pops. Happy New Years All!

Any relation to Bob Foulkrod in Troy PA?

Oh come on now, you can't tell the size of that bird from those .10$ pictures!! My eagle is WAY bigger than yours...........that bird has been feasting mightily on plastic decoys for weeks now. Where's Curmudgeon when I need him?
