I still have enough to easily make it until the 15 of October, approx. 10 weeks. Hopefully.............. When I opened this thread I thought the question was referencing vacation time, which I have NONE of.

The smell has nothing to do with gas. Stinky urine is the issue. Within an hour or less it is very evident you have consumed asparagus and stays with you for a number of "tanks".

From my Lazy Boy, straight off my left shoulder. That help at all?

Best card pull of the summer (pic heavy)...

I just can't seem to get deer to stop in front of a camera while in a field, like yours do. What's your secret? Edit to add; great pics! -
I love asparagus. Does it effect you like it effects me? Stinky............

Your points have already been addressed in this thread by the OP.

Two different times I had coyotes DAMN close while sleeping. Many years ago in Colorado while elk hunting we had found a great camp site and set up shop.....wall tent and cook tent all perfect. A couple nights the coyotes were easily within a couple hundred yards of camp and they would start howling. Man it was tough to sleep those nights! Another time just about 5 or so years ago my uncle had a cabin full of guys so my buddy Dave & I set up our cots in the barn. Around 2am a pack of coyotes (all I know it was more than two!) started yippin' and yappin' right behind the barn. I promise you they weren't 50-60 yards away. I promise you, it was scary as all get out! The S&W .45 1911 was cocked and locked EVEN with the barn doors closed. While reviewing this for posting I remembered another time. I was bow hunting and had a coyote howling in the distance. Strangely he was getting closer.........all of a sudden here comes a yearling (3 or 4pt IIRC) sneaking by me. I doubled lunged him and saw him stumble off and tip over. Seconds later here comes the yote' on the same trail the buck just came in on. I had quickly knocked another arrow when I heard the footsteps getting closer. Before I could even THINK about drawing the bow, I was busted. That dog was gone so fast I couldn't believe it. He ran over by my truck and howled for what seemed like a couple minutes but in reality was probably only 20-30 seconds before going silent. I climbed down and took a longer route to the truck, headed back to camp and grabbed a 870, enough ammo to fill the unplugged magazine tube and a decent flashlight. The gutting process and dragging went without a hitch, getting BACK to the truck proved to be a little more complicated though. I won't bore you with the story (that I'm sure I've told here before) or embarrass myself further with the details of how in the heck I could get turned around being only a couple hundred yards from the truck. It was pitch black though and every noise I heard was a coyote stalking me and looking for a happy meal X 2. Like growie said, it is pretty wild when they are howling that close!

Damn, it's another ZIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGG! Well done!

Quite the creative photography my friend. I bet you shoot some whoppers there but why not give us some skull sizes and weights on those hummers instead of hero shots worthy of a fishing brochure.
-
Ha ha.....good one growie! How do you spell that weird French (I think) word......"touche" ZINNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG. He is the king of "one liners"!!

Just a random thought.......does anyone know what the statute of limitations is on killing a turkey vulture. Just curious.

Just a reflection on my youth, nothing more-nothing less. Bang away buckaroo!

I used to hunt them with a Crossman 760 40 years ago. We weren't looking to fill the pot, more just to hone our stalking skills for later in life. Lots of those big old green bullfrogs were crushed by the flat shooting-hard hitting copper solid bb's Good times for a 13 year old to be alive!

10 months a year you'll have a dandy beer cooler.............

Funny story.......today I'm riding with my boss between a job and a few estimates. First thing we do is check on the crew in North Tonawanda. They're looking for a cup of coffee so we say "no sweat, we'll go grab you some". We head over to this goofy plaza on Payne Ave at Meadow Drive. Why is it goofy you ask? Do a Google Earth thingy......... So we want to get the coffee at DD's and we get wheeling around all the damned "curbage" intended to herd people around like cattle and then end up at the drive thru. The chic inside the bldg says "hello, what can I get you?" Bob starts the order: 2 medium double double, small cream & sugar, 2 muffins and a................a a a what? WTH do you mean do we want a burrito? Bob looks at me and says holy crap, we're at Taco Bell!! We peel out of their drive thru and go MAYBE 60' to the DD's drive thru. We are laughing or azz off and can hardly get the order out!! The two restaurants are stacked so close together it must happen often. Heck McDonalds is only a softball toss right next door to these two joints. So I guess you really had to be there to enjoy the humor. Twas a bright spot in our day!

As much as I like my 6 man Eureka Outfitter tent, if it was damaged behond repait I'd get a dome tent of some sort to replace it. I think........... I've had my tent in some brutal winds and survived but it's been seriously tied down and a prayer or two tossed into the mix. Seems like my buddies dome takes the wind much better............

The three most successful hunters I know (both in quantity AND quality) hunt exclusively from a Summit Climber. Hang on, I'll type that again in bold...... THE THREE MOST SUCCESSFUL HUNTERS I KNOW (BOTH IN QUANTITY AND QUALITY) HUNT EXCLUSIVELY FROM A SUMMIT CLIMBER. They aren't built any different than you and me. One leg at a time is how their pants go on, if you know what I mean. I hunt out of a Treewalker climber now and wouldn't take a three Summits for my one TW stand, even if you sweetened the deal with a hundred dollar bill so it ain't the stand. I kill my fair share of deer and don't even come close to the three mentioned above, quantity or quality. They make noise going up and going down, BFD. Trust me, they are effective as hell.................

You didn't just toss them over your shoulder into the blue bin after the pics did you?

Lots of nice shotguns are collecting dust with all the new rifle legal counties! I hope I NEVER use mine again!

I know YOU aren't whacking your dogs snout that hard but I've heard that you can damage the cartilage in a dogs nose so it isn't a good idea to smack their nose or snout. I do something similar but different.....I grab the snout with my left hand and whack the BACK of MY hand hard enough to make a loud sound, thus getting the message across hopefully with no damage to a vital body part on all dogs and especially a hunting dog. Just the way I do it and recommend to others that have inquired how in the heck my dog can be so darn well behaved, MOST of the time!
