  1. They must have shocked the creeks already? Anybody see that? Naples, Catherine, Springwater??
  2. I'd wrap a hunk of flagging tape around that tree and come back late summer and see just exactly what the fruit looks like and take some snap shots of it for the rest of the class for future reference. Same with the OP, more pics are in order!!
  3. How do you know the road is abandoned?
  4. I was a bit bummed today when I came home for lunch hoping for a cold corned beef Sammy and got an empty dish........to damned late. Momma scored it late morning as she new I'd be looking for it. Oh well, liver sausage ain't too shabby...............!! You guys having it tonight, enjoy!!!!!
  5. Never been there and have no plans of changing that. Best of luck.........
  6. Wherever you are............Happy Birthday!! Hopefully it is MUCH warmer than here in the Frozen North but the beer is still cold.
  7. No, never did corned venison. I've thought about it but then said frig it and grind 'em up. Seems simpler............
  8. Who's having it? I did it last week when my father was in town and it turned out awesome AND I'm doing it again tonight! It is one of my favorites......... Red potatoes, carrots and cabbage. Mmmm good. Next week it's back to venison each night.
  9. You may be the big winner from the reports I've gotten........
  10. You could have some fun on that budget. A trip I've done for whitetail a couple times is Alabama in January. After all our deer hunting has shut down, Christmas/New Years are done and you're freezing off your n____ off, you jump on a plane and hunt the peak of the rut in Alabama. Good times........... I never killed any big bucks but had fun. Buck, doe, coyote, bobcat and hog are on the menu and priced right. Another hunt I'd think about for that kind of scratch would be an Aoudad Sheep hunt in Texas. They are intriguing to me, from their looks to the land they inhabit. Anticosti looks neat but these others more so, to me. Best....................
  11. Post up the original here if you can & congrats to Jr!
  12. No, not rocket science at all. Its just that FFL's aren't too eager to do the deals and the fact that the buyer & seller need to meet at an FFL to do the deal makes it a substantial hassle to more than a few.
  13. I did one also, in Lakeville. Similar charge. IMO it is really discouraging people from selling/buying used guns and in turn sucks.
  14. 6 weeks and she is gone........what a terrible loss for her family. My sincere condolences to all involved.
  15. For anybody interested, here is Fran's obituary................ http://www.lockportjournal.com/obituaries/x787216799/Francis-Fran-S-Licata I could only hope to have an obit that glowing.
  16. I have an apartment complex in Lockport that I do a fair amount of work for and had a job scheduled for tomorrow. The manager of the complex told me yesterday to give him a call late today and let him know what time I'd be over to do the job on Friday. I called around 3:00 today and got no answer on his cell. That was odd I thought then just seconds later my phone rings and it was his phone..........I said "hi Fran, it's Larry". I heard a ladies voice crack and she said, "no Larry, this is _______, Fran's daughter. He died this morning." I was stunned................................ I mumbled some quick broken words of condolences and utter shock. I was floored. She said he passed this morning of a massive heart attack as he dressed to go do some clean up plowing at the apartment complex. She cried and I cried.... Damn it all. I only new Fran for about 6 years. He and another older fellow did all the maintenance work for about 100 well kept units, mostly occupied by seniors. Both guys were very unique in their own way. They got along great but were constantly busting each others balls for one reason or another. All in fun, usually. They met MANY years ago at the Niagara Raceway in Niagara County. Remember the radio ad, "SUNDAY, NIAGARA RACEWAY" the announcer would yell. It was a big deal in the 60's and 70's. Dean owned it and Fran raced there. I don't know their entire relationship but they were friends for many, many years. I talked to Dean today and we shared a few stories. Just last week Fran was telling me about a lady that passed away a month ago in one of the units and he discovered her. We had a couple of normal goofy guy comments and that was that. He was rushing to get two units ready to be occupied so he could take a weeks vacation next week with his wife. He was leaving this Monday................... Damn it all. His wife has had some health issues and he did everything with and for her. This will devastate her and his entire family. Ballroom dancing was a passion for them. He would love to tell me about all their trips to dance, it bored the hell out of me. I was all ears and did my best to look interested but he also new I'd rather talk about his drag racing!! Hell, how many handy men have SnapOn tools? I will miss him, RIP Fran.
  17. Apparently they did taxidermy also.......thats gonna sting for guys/gals that had things being stuffed. Condolences to all............................................... http://wivb.com/2014/03/12/archery-shop-burns-to-the-ground-during-blizzard/
  18. Get a few guys together and place a big order.
  19. Amazing. Where are you located ? BTW cute pic with your dog.
  20. 13" at the Buffalo Airport today. Not too shabby!!
  21. I had two jobs today, North Tonawanda & Amherst. It was pretty sporty here and there. After the jobs I made quick stops at Dick's looking for .22 shells, the PO, Gun Center and Tops. A busy day in spite of a BLIZZARD WARNING. No closed roads so WTH, why not I thought. It was blowing and snowing pretty bad for a while and starting to accumulate but now it is quiet. EVERYTHING is closed around here now. My wife's work has closed so a family dinner it is! They said a few minutes ago that another wall of snow is on its way..............
