Not out of the realm of possibilities for YOU.

Boy you'd sure think it would be fine but I can't say either. Last summer I did a little test one of my life lines. I took 200lbs plus of weight and attached a caribiner from the weight to a prussic hitch attached to one of my life lines. We raised the entire 200lbs PLUS me in my buddies tractor bucket to about 10' then I pushed the 200lbs out as the bucket was tipped. I purposely pushed it as fast as possible to simulate a quick drop. Everything held as planned and it was very non dramatic!! I was a happy camper at that point. The lines I use are just high quality marine lines. I don't recall where I got the prussic hitch lines, it could have been EMS?? Don't forget, the prussic hitch line diameter has to be smaller than the life line. (I think I read that somewhere when I was making them!!) Keep us posted on your decisions.

Cool.

Nice pics Joe. Things don't look horrible for the deer there??

It's easy enough to do. The recoil pad should come off first, then a bolt through the stock can be taken off with an extension and socket. The slide should come off (mind you it has been a while since I've done one) pretty easy; pull the magazine tube cap off then on the underside of the bolt is a little pin that you can slide one way only. It is under spring tension and will then release the slide as you lift up/out. Let me know if I'm close, room service here at the Holiday Inn is knocking...........................................................grin

Action screw torque, WTH? Tighten it down (NOT farmer tight) and shoot it.

If this is your first time reloading, whoa! Don't mess with all those bullets. Pick ONE or maybe two, no more. Try a couple powders AND mess with seating depth. If you're monkeying around with all those bullets and a couple different powders, you'll have a heck of a time keeping it all straight. I have friend who is/was new to it and is very sharp. He had way too many things going on to do it right. As always, YMMV.

Definitely look at that 95gr Nosler Balistic Tip. I'll plan on grabbing some of them and putting a load together this winter or spring. I've heard good things about them.......

My Barnes data (from their web site) on the 80gr TTSX shows MAX loads of IMR 4350 of 46.0grs and H 4350 of 45.5grs.

shawn.......I'm not TOTALLY ignoring you ( ) on this. I'm too whipped right now to give any accurate info for you. Good stuff so far from all the guys. What I can tell you is the 80gr Barnes TTSX is what I use in my 243 NULA for deer. I think I'm around 3400fps but, like I said, I'm wiped out. You don't need that expensive of a bullet of course but I do enjoy using them as there's not much chance for failure. I started using them in my Remington 700 243 and killed a couple deer with them. Remember this: The above of course is the Barnes 80gr TTSX bullet. Here is where it came from: That Is a roast from the hind quarter of a PA doe that I shot, head on at 235 yards in 2011. That bullet went bow to stern on her. She flipped over backwards and went zero yards. Here is the buck I killed at 200+ yards in PA, 2012 with said bullet: I like them but I won't say they are necessary for our deer, just accurate and consistent, IMO. More to come after chow time.................................................................. ,

That'd be where I go also. I had my harness with me to shoot from the elevated platform but was a bit short on time. I had to unload my ML as it was still loaded from the middle of January so I dumped the charge down the 50 yard plinking range. (And not surprisingly it WAS a bullseye!!)

Maybe they're fishing for us?

I did plenty of clicking and still didn't find much info in that link. How about a schedule for each days events and maybe a list of vendors?? Also, is it mostly a fishing event, no hunting??

Tell me more.............I know nothing about it!!

Where DO you come up with this stuff???????????????????

It looks like it is sold via craigslist. Lock 'er up mods...................................

I shot outdoors today at my gun club. 20, 30 and 40 yards. The bales were kind of frozen and extraction was a bear.............................. I'm fishtailing a bit. I don't think every shot but most have a slight side to side in flight that I can see. Time to study the tuning guide sticky here..............
