Good luck, it sounds great regardless of a kill. You are lucky to have a special friend like that, not all do. Yesterday I tooled around Western NY with a 39 year friend that moved to Colorado 28 years ago. We have stayed close and hunted together numerous times over the years. He flew into Buffalo with his wife and MIL to do some visiting and leaf peeping. We had a blast............................... We'll need pics for sure!!

It's pretty difficult if not impossible to tell from the body "look" if it is a buck or doe. As far as a velvet horn, kill it and THEN tell us!! Good luck............

KEEP THIS THREAD ON TRACK PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, looks like the Youth Hunters really stacked 'em up yesterday? I put a couple hundred miles on the rig and saw the shocking number of ZERO deer being dragged, gutted, hung or propped up on front lawns for hero shots. What'd you see?

I don't think it has anything to do with the flea market. The location of the Cabela's will be right across the street from Galleria Mall (south side of Walden). Used to be Wegmans, Chase Pitkin, Burlington Coat etc.in the general area. I see they have a HUGE banner hanging close to and visible from the 90 that went up in the past month or so.

We are getting one here in Buffalo sometime in 2014. It probably won't be a MONSTER sized store, just a piker...........looking forward to it. I've been to a couple/few over the years and after awhile they aren't so overwhelming.

If the deer was quartering away a bit......the arrow could have buzzed under the belly and caught the inside of the off side leg, hitting the artery (?) the runs down the inside of the leg resulting in false hopes.......and a hurting but survivable wound.
