Hopefully she'll be dead when you find her in the morning. DON'T go tonight! Good luck..........

When gun hunting, especially opening days, I'll typically have the following: egg salad sammies, coffee, water bottle, snack of some sort and (not anymore since I quit smoking) a handful of cigars. If I have to (like clockwork) use the "facilities", I don't generally go to far when I hit the ground. You'd think I'd NEVER kill a deer, wouldn't you?

bubba? Heeee'ssssss backkkkkkkk!!! Welcome back bubba! How was your spring/summer? Any big plans for the hunting season or same old/same old? (nothing wrong with THAT!)

Happy Birthday Belo & HunterVince 315 A couple young bucks it appears, 29 & 30 years old. 30 years ago right now...............I was driving my first new truck, a 1983 Ford Ranger 4x4. $8300 stripped! Working for a local garage as a mechanic and enjoying myself fully! Enjoy your day guys.

I first read about Mr Benoit when I was just a kid, 40+ years ago. He and his family appear to be good people and very successful deer hunters............ RIP Larry Benoit.

Yup, boneheads all right. Good luck.........................

That is a heck of a buck doing that! Probably make Boone & Sprocket Club. Here is one on a cedar tree I snapped a picture of a few years ago in Wyoming County................................

'cat......seems like you have had a bunch of good offers for help. Scouting this time of year is pretty tough with all the falling leaves covering trails and even beds. Spending too much time traipsing through some potential hunting grounds during the season certainly isn't a game ending thing but, IMO isn't rewarding enough to do it now. Winter/spring tells the tale on trails and bedding areas well. I know, they'll change things a bit depending on food sources but not enough to effect your hunting. Summer scouting? That's best left to the binos and spotting scope. I'd be happy to accompany you in any local park or lands you might have permission to hunt this winter or spring. I've been told recently that my eyes are getting bad but I still have a pretty good handle on things. Good luck this fall, stack 'em like cord wood..............................

Thanks for clearing that up Shawn. The arrow is mighty small for my aging eyes! Regardless, two pictures of the same target (and poor quality photography) and all the black script don't help sell anything. I wish the guy well and you too with your fancy flashlight setup. No price, no business.
-
If you read the OP's opening post, he mentions that this is supposed to be a three shot group at 200yds. There is only one target shown and it says "2 shots" on it. Strange deal....................................
-
As seen in your picture I assume. How does it work?
-
That's an idea that has been around for quite a while and ain't an option! They all (as far as I know) come with a piece of cord/rope that you MUST MUST MUST MUST use to attach the base and the hand climber/seat section together. It is not uncommon for a person descending too fast to take too big of a step down and for the stand to drop from their feet. If the safety line is attached between the sections, no problem. (as long as your using a sit & climb type stand) If it ISN'T attached, your SOL. In the past, I have purposely (when someone is near) dropped the lower section and had to haul it up by hand just for practice. No problem..........
-
Safety lines are the real deal. Glad your doing fine!! Details please.......what kind of stand? what kind of life line? what kind of harness?
-
Nice going stud!

tractor opinions please
Lawdwaz replied to yukonhunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Closest I have is a 5hp Toro. I wouldn't trade her for anything. Good luck in your tractor search. -
Well played!! Tell your BIL it's all down hill from here.................................... What a great buck, you both must have really enjoyed that, you as much as him. Will he get him stuffed? Toooooo bad you couldn't get him on a scale, he does look like a brute.

I have one of those tree stand umbrellas and need another. Mine is a Buckwing and it is t made any longer. Pretty sure my buddy said to get a Grizzly?? Thoughts????
-
For all the many thousands I've spent on all my gear the cheapest thing by far that I use is a good old Kwikee Kwiver. I hang it in the tree when I get into position. I can kill with it on the bow but prefer to shoot with it off the bow.

What you're missing here is the guy is from MI and trying to sell things in a back door way, hence the link in his post.

How old was the stand?
-
Wait, I musta missed something, WTF happened to Saturday morning?

I've also taken note of the next few days and hope to get after it..............................
