  1. Bushnell 3200 Elite 3x9 with the RainGuard feature. VERY, VERY slight ring marks on bottom. I had this on my son's Remington 722 257 Roberts for maybe 20 shots. Nice piece of glass. $150 shipped.
  2. I'll simplify this for you....Ethics. YMMV.
  3. A whitetail doe, on alert, at dusk? OK.......... Tuning has NOTHING to do with it. Do you get it? How fast is that arrow going at 30 yards, 40 yards or 50 yards? Ever have a deer jump the string? Naw...........
  4. I had a Goliath and liked it enough but had a problem getting both hands into mycoat pockets at the same time when cold. I did a little research and ended up with a awesome stand, the Treewalker. Made in USA and built very well. IIRC this will be my third season with it and I've killed a bunch of deer from it. The problem I had with the Summit was solved and much more! Light, secure, quiet, fast & easy to set up. http://www.treewalkertreestands.com/ Not cheap but well worth every penny.
  5. Either one has them. Better hurry they may be running low.....
  6. I know where your going with this but at high noon it ain't happening. The OP needs to shoot 10-15 deer with archery equipment then he can answer his own question.
  7. I've been bowhunting for 36 years and I wouldn't take that shot for all the tea in China. Do yourself a favor and forget about it. 50 yards is for gun season.......
  8. Summit would be the best in your price range. Don't go cheap.
  9. Common sense goes alooooooooong ways. (not being a smart azz this time, guys & gals just need to be smart)
  10. I have never spent a minute in a "ground blind" Sure, I've hunted from the ground but to be honest, you could probably count on one hand all the deer I've ever shot from the ground. (ok, maybe two hands) I HATE being on the ground. Most of the time I'd rather NOT hunt if I had to sit on a stump or even a folding chair. Hate it.
  11. The boys should be splitting up pretty quick. Last Monday my buddy had 7 go by him in a flock! Good luck!
  12. 283fps is really smoking. You ran that through a chronograph?
  13. NOW your talkin' !! Sadly, it has been at least 20 years since I have been to one of "those" bars. We did have some down right wonderful times with those very nice Canadian women. Side track of thread......sorry.
  14. Good job. Don't forget taxidermy costs to that trip total! I guess I'm out of touch on hunt pricing. Glad I did what I did years ago.
  15. Atta boy Vic!! You Rock! Details; gun, chambering, bullet, distance???????
  16. Ladder? O.K., you could use a safety line from the ground (tied to the bottom of the ladder stand, 5' high) and have it attached above your head and then you would NEVER not be connected, from the ground up and especially when stepping onto a stand. All the safety line is is a appropriate length rope (20-30') with a loop at one end. Attach the end with the lop above your head and then tie the tag near the bottom of the ladder. Attach your prussic hitch and climb away. (and live happily ever after!)
  17. I don't know but I'd think they are allowed 1 deer, either sex.
  18. Congrats to the young man!
  19. What type of stand are you in, IE: Fixed, ladder, climber or permanent
  20. No, you really didn't address my question. Have you ever lost a deer with a hit in that region? If you found a deer hit like that I'd assume it was a double lunger?
  21. I assume you have never had any experience with a lost deer, shot in that area?
  22. Did you read the article?
  23. Is (was) that a folding climber? What do you weigh?
  24. Take both. Then see how the spirit moves you when it is time............... Shoot straight.
