  1. Probably worth it to your friend to buy The Blue Book of Gun Values, 2012 version. Way too many variables to price fairly.

    Rain

We just had a great rain and still coming!! We haven't really seen anything like this since sometime in May. The ground around here is really parched. Praise the Lord!!
  4. Its all about what you want out of your gun and how serious you take your deer hunting. If your figuring to keep your shots inside of (75 yards or less) than you should be fine with a SB. On the other hand, if you enjoy venison, big racks and think you might get a crack at 100 yards, head on over and talk to the guys at Johnson's or the Cabin Range and get something that will reach out a bit. Once a gun is sighted in with those high dollar slugs, how much are you really going to shoot it? You ain't shooting a slug gun for fun. Leave your fun plinking to a .22 rimjob. Although I haven't used a slug gun much in the past 5 or 6 years, prior to that I used a rifled bore slug gun since about 1985 or so. BRI slugs, baby. Man did they fly like crap but they did kill when they encountered flesh & bone! Accuracy is EVERYTHING.
  5. Yea, its been a few years since we have been there. I've never gone by land, only by sea!! (first time via the canoe) That channel/creek/ditch is aweful narrow for some of those big boats. I don't know where they turn around but that'll take some talent or twin screws!
  6. I'm not sure if you can tell but that is a NYS DEC boat! A couple big azz Honda's pushing it.
  7. Your pretty quick on the edit button. <grin> No fishing for us today, just taking a little paddle.
  8. Last group........ You folks mind if we park our little canoe here? Lunch consisted of a couple roast beast sammies............ Hey Babe.......<grin>
  9. More shots....................................
  10. Took my wife on a little paddle down the Erie Barge Canal today. Launched the 14' Mad River Fisherman in North Tonawanda at a small boat ramp along witha bunch of other yahoo's. Some scenery along the way.............
  11. Parker Ballistic Extreme, 275gr,. 42gr SR 4759 smokeless powder, left handed NULA 209 50cal Smokeless gun.
  12. Lightning crackling all around me at 9700' in Colorado while trying to jump out of a tree stand at dusk.
  13. One leg over the guard rail..................
  14. Even I wouldn't crap on bubba's good score like that. Nice score bubba.
  15. My buddy Wally drove to PA with another guy to archery hunt for a few days. First night he walks to his stand, climbs up and goes to nock an arrow and finds out he left his bow quiver at home, in Buffalo. He climbs down, heads across the field to his buddies stand and whispers, "hey Gerry, can I borrow a couple arrows"? (Maybe you had to be there to appreciate it?) Classic!
  16. 25 years ago I was coming out in the dark from an evening bowhunt in PA. I was going down a trail between the standing corn and heavy woods, thinking "man is it dark"! Could be a bear in that corn, looking for a fat, easy meal. Mere seconds later...........my buddy jumps out from behind me in the corn and hollers like a ENRAGED BROWN BEAR!! I just about crabbed my Jim Crumley outfit. SOB...........
  17. Hence the main reason I didn't have a gun or shoot at those stinky things! One even looked to have a golf ball in its mouth. <0 <------Looked like that.
  18. Cool. I wear mine under my jacket, in the pines and NEVER wash it!! Shoulda/coulda last 200 years? <grin>
  19. I had a REAL low flock go by me this morning.........I was on Millersport Hwy right by UB waiting for a green light. If only I had my Benelli, I could have greased a few. Damn the luck.
  20. I think I bought mine in 1999. I'll take my chances.............BUT............ I probably use mine 20-25 days a year, not 365. Sooooo, I'm probably only up to 350 days or so.
  21. Wow, great pic! What kind of camera? Who's land?
