And again, probably a degree of stupidity involved in this horrible event also.
-
Not enough detail in many of those incidents but it sure doesn't seem the rifle/shotgun safety issue comes into play much at all. Most of it is just plain stupidity.

It's too hot for most things lately! Took the Mrs. out for a canoe ride this morning on the canal. Twas hot!

She showed today. The envelope is filled out (section 1 &2) stamps are affixed and the yellow application is signed dated etc. I always tape the envelope along with a lick job. (They got chit glue : ) Hopefully the girls in Wellsboro remember me

You've never shot a recurve, have you?
-
Doc- I assume you have never hunted PA? Take a run down on opening morning and see the cars parked in all the State Game Lands parking areas, along roads and even in ditches. We hunted up around Park Hill in Tioga and if you didn't get a parking spot by 5:45am you were SOL. The flashlights in the woods were like fire flies in Ontario County in July In other words, what Dan is talking about has nothing to do with a lack of hunters or hunting closer to the city with more guys & gals in the bush. Stay cool today...................................

I have zero interest in a xbow, at this point. If, in later years my shoulders get worse I guess I could possibly entertain thoughts of looking at one although I don't really believe that it would be all that easy unless you had someone else load/cock the darn thing. One of the reasons I bow hunt is for the solidarity of it. Also, the xbow seems like it'd be a bear to work with in a tree stand??

Very eloquent. You should fire off a letter to the DEC with your feelings.
-
Impressive enough to keep me and others using them.

8 guys for 7 days, and you are the only one to see a deer? 56 man days and see 1 (ONE) deer? I did that once, up in the Moose River plains. Never again, thank you. Years ago I remember someone saying that 90% of the deer were taken by 10% hunters. Probably true.

The first "T" in TTSX should help in expansion in game animals for those having any fears I've killed with Barnes shotgun slugs, muzzleloader bullets, X bullets and Triple shocks to date. The victims includes deer, bear, antelope and woodchucks. I have a pile of .284 120 grain Triple Shocks I'm trying to burn up in the 7-08 before I go to the TTSX.

Never not good pictures! Keep 'em coming.....................

Very cool find. Very, very cool to find it in your garden ;D

Sounds like I'll need to sign up for AA when I get home!! ;D I think we have a darn good start to the weekend here, thanks Dan. Much obliged!

As usual Pygmy shows up with common sense reasoning. If you want to follow the lead of anybody on here, look his way.

O.K., all ideas will be appreciated here: I'm looking for a 1-2 night stay in the Finger Lakes on the water. I always loved the 1000's Islands but looking for something a bit different. We enjoy hitting the shops, walking the docks, decent food etc. Not looking to spend a chunk-o-change on lodging but don't want to sleep in the car either. A nice family owned No-Tell-Motel would work. Fresh water area with a salt water feel?? Talk to me Goose......................................................

My technical ability meter is pegged already..................................................... ;D Thanks!

I'll bet the barrel on that 280 got a touch warm today? Plenty of shade and some time between shots should make it doable though. Did you get a chance to run them over a chronograph? If not, what does the book say, 2800fps or so?
-
Great shots! What the heck kind of cell phone do you have? Those videos are terrific!
-
PERFECT! Now I know where to send my bear meat!! ;D
-
I've had sausage made from a fall bear and can say it was certainly as good as the sausage I had made with Canadian Goose ;D Really, it was pretty good. I'd be more concerned about finding room on a wall for a huge rug than the meat. Hunting a food source for a bear like an apple orchard can be effective with archery gear.

I shot one bear 12 or so years ago, a dink. The tanned hide hangs at my uncle's cabin in Naples, the skull is here at the shack. I'd love to shoot a big one, 400lbs+ but I really don't know what I'd do with it. O.K., I'll get a tag. <grin>

I know it's only a formality but..........it still needs the Gov's signature. Git 'er done...........

Thanks Dan. Very interesting on the bear tag deal, 3A is my area but I've never seen a bear during rifle/buck season in the particular area I'm hunting now. (the past 10 years or so) When I hunted closer towards Tioga, I saw quite a few bears. Think I'll see one THIS year if I don't buy a tag?? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Carry on gentleman.
