  1. I'd fight for the Cause!! My needs for battle other than small arms & ammo: Egg salad sangwiches (w/green olives) Thermos of coffee, cigars and a assortment of Little Debbie products.
  2. I'd imagine more than a few people are wishing they had a back up system of one sort or the other in the next few days. For the people that don't want or can't afford a back up system, get yourself some kind of alarm for water intrusion. They can be purchased very cheap. If you have a burglar alarm system for your home, have the crock set up with an alarm also. It won't cost much and can save you thousands. Few homeowners policies will pay in excess of $5000, many just $2500 for water damage in basements and that ain't squat these days considering the amount of money people put into those recreation rooms in the basement. Check your policy if in doubt! (NO grin :'( ) Replacing washer, dryer, furnace, H2O tank, carpet, pad, drywall, trim, paint and all that particle board construction furniture will cost more than an Indiana deer lease....................................
  3. I run when I see those blue trucks.......................................... ;D
  4. I'll pass that info on to a friend who has a canoe down on Canadice. Funny thing though, I'd be surprised to see the state OR city rush into anything, anywhere. I bet those boats will be locked to the trees for a bit yet.
  5. Who shoots those crappy old shafts anymore?
  6. Nice bow. Who makes it?
  7. They have been doing this at Canadice Lake for 30+ years that I know of. No big deal IMO.
  8. Congratulations! A Bouncing Baby Boy!!!!!
  9. I tried to get a link to the article but my Google-FU couldn't find one. Basically, he is saying that PA has monkeyed up the deer hunting for MOST people in the state. In square miles, Allegany County NY (1,032 sq miles) is half the size of game management area 3A (approx. 2,000 sq miles) in Pennsylvania. They share a common border and have very similar terrain etc. In 2010, PA hunters in 3A killed 3,800 bucks. Allegany County NY hunters killed 4,202 bucks. Unit 3A is TWICE the size of Allegany County! In 3A that works out to less than 2 bucks killed per square mile. Remember, these deer were killed, not harvested. This unit in PA has a lower ratio of bucks per square mile than most of the Adirondacks! (All information is from the article in NY Outdoor News, 4/22/2011)
  10. What, everybody looking for a B&C buck that read it? Hell, the B&C bucks have increased 500% in PA since the AR have been put in place. BFD.
  11. Anybody else catch his column in the latest issue of NY Outdoor News regarding the state of deer hunting in PA? He compared it to Allegheny County in NYS. He hit the nail right on the head. Kudos to OD.
  12. On top of all the other negatives of high gas prices it sure takes the fun out of spring turkey hunting for me when a quick morning hunt to a fairly close spot costs me $20 for a 100 mile round trip. Suxs.
  13. Even a short story might do??
  14. Lot s of nice clubs just across the Peace Bridge in Ft Erie that could help with those "woes" :-*
  15. Dan- Sorry to hear about your bum hooter. Have you talked to your Dr. about "it"? Good luck, Larry P.S. Maybe I should have sent this in private?? Good luck with those Canadian gobblers!
  16. I see a couple guys here have plans for the weekend. Anybody else scrounge up a youth for the hunt? The weather here in WNY sounds a bit lousy but who knows, you gotta be in it to win it! Good luck.
  17. You drew! Good news on that. Any idea of the size (acres) of that tract of ground?
  18. +1 on the good luck! Been scouting?
  19. I saw the destruction in Alabama in 2008 and 2009 while deer, hog and bobcat hunting. They are nasty critters for sure. Looks like a roto tiller gone wild. No kidding.
  20. Too much reading for now! Interesting stuff for sure. Wipe the SOB's OUT!
  21. I tried a couple out when I got my Darton Maverick in 1999, IIRC. I couldn't see that it helped me enough to justify the weight. I certainly understand the reasoning for one but it wasn't for me. My BT Guardian shoots light years better than the Darton so the need (?) seems to be even less. For lots of guys, especially 3D dudes, they are a necessity.
  22. I have a story about the youth turkey hunt that you probably wouldn't believe....... My son missed 4 adults in two days a few years ago. Yep 4 DIFFERENT adults gobblers. And those four different birds were not alone. I fihure we saw 15 adult gobblers in those two days. Would you believe all 15 were closer than 50 yards? True story. He never killed one.................. I don't know if Dick Kirby ever had two days like that! I have never mentioned this in public before as it is quite traumatic to me, still! My son, heck it never phased him.
  23. Until you shoot something over 100" ;D BTDT.
  24. Tough guess a score from the angle of the photo. I don't think 160's is accurate, maybe they transposed the numbers and it is 126? BTW......Nice buck!
  25. Franks does it for me. (No, I'm not coming out of the closet > )
