  1. I don't have a clue BUT.......I didn't think they used dens much at all after the winter?? Trail cam (no brainer!)
  2. Dan- I ordered mine today via the internet. How quick did yours come?? IIRC, they get them out PDQ??
  3. Nice Rig! What a great way to travel. My first out-of-state hunt was in a motor home back in 1982. Texas was the destination and the memories and pics tell the tale. We did another hunt a few years later in the same 'home and went to Kaycee & Buffalo Wyoming. THAT trip is classified and can't be discussed! Bump for a cool deal..........................................--------->
  4. He's a good one. All he has to do now is survive until hunting season! I'll be putting out my camera today for the first time of the new year. We are heading down to a family reunion in Naples and will stop off in Canadice and do the "strap on" thing and hope for a good crop of stud bucks. Fresh batteries and a clean card, ready to rock.................................. ;D
  5. One incredibly huge problem with PA. hunting is the fact that a "weekend" of hunting consists of ONE (1) day. If you could hunt on Sunday, you could double your field time.
  6. 5.5 ' @ $100 per foot is $550. $100 for beetle juiced skull. $650 is what I'm coming up with. ???
  7. It's got to be legal, no motor. Do it Edit to add.......My buddy and I built one on a old steel wheeled hay wagon at a place we hunt in PA. It works out real good on those typical opening day deer hunts!
  8. Good job noodle one. Looks like you noodled two? <grin> It certainly helps if you live in your hunting area, especially for spring turkey. You never know when a gobbler is going to show up or decide to test his vocal cords. I only hunted 4 days this spring, twice with friends and twice alone. The weather, work and the price of fuel (yup, I'll admit it) slowed me down. My closest spot is 50 miles, one way. At 16 miles/gallon, coffee and Little Debbie ride alongs, the trip gets expensive. Fire up that camera and get us some pics of your new man cave/shed. Oh yea, nice pics of your gobbler! <grin>
  9. Like others, the situation will dictate the tool. I have and use a Harris bipod and a two legged Stoney Point set up. My favorite rest is the car window. <grin>
  10. ? Did you not see that stuff in the bottom pic? Well, the trash cans were behind me. My post reply was to the folks saying to just go and shoot on State land. An organized, well thought out New York State owned range is what I'd like to see. Your range pic looks great. What did you use for front and rear rests with the shotgun?
  11. And a solid bench, safe back stop, trash cans etc. wouldn't be a bad idea.
  12. Why not just go to the State owned range........................oh crap, I forgot there are NONE >
  13. And the shotgun is........?? I must have missed it if you posted before.
  14. Funny you should ask, I sent Sen Patrick Galivan an e-mail yesterday referencing the rifle bill. No reply yet but I'll post here if and when I hear anything.
  15. That water had to be awfully! Looks like a great time though. I really should take my wife this spring before the water level drops too much. What do they charge for a run like that??
  16. Cool story NYO. What a hog of a bruin. Love to cork one like that........
  17. Too bad they ditched the green & black checked coats. Twas a nice little trademark they pretty much owned!
  18. I bought a Remington 760 in 308 back in the early 80's because of those guys. They reeled me in 30 years ago and they probably weren't even trying..................................
  19. When a guy (or a family) is making money off of his "hobby", beware. More than a couple "big" names have fallen to the pressure to succeed in a "hobby". Kurt Darner and Noel Feather would be a couple that I can think of PDQ. The Benoit family sure gets plenty of good press but I get a bit nervous when people like them start to pimp their "methods" to make a buck. As always, YMMV.
  20. I'm starting to think the Benoit's area bit larger than life? That's quite a "story". Not saying it isn't possible....................................
  21. Anybody hunt the new afternoon shift in PA. yet?? Can't even imagine it................! ???
