  1. My guess is it will continue to suck!!
  2. Yeah, I got a list a few weeks ago. Their website has the list!
  3. Anything my WIFE DOESNT pick!!
  4. Speaking of white flash. Yrs back I bought the cheap wildviews. I had it near my stand. One morning I had some deer in the food plot. One doe got close to the cam. The flash went off and it scared the crap right out of her and ran 2 counties away. That was a lesson learned.
  5. Buy one that has a long battery life. I had some wildviews that drained batteries like no tomorrow. Don't get a white flash either.
  6. Agree I used drain pile as well, just cut a slit all the way down and bend on. Ill take them off in the spring until fall. Its worked perfect so far.
  7. I know what you were saying, something's using it but from my view the tracks in and out were on the west side of the hole. I just assumed yotes. So ill have to go back next weekend and check the tracks and hang a cam. In the mean time ill wait for a clear full moon!!
  8. Lets all not buy a hunting license this fall. How much revenue would that cost them. How could they police everyone hunting with no license next fall. DEC would have to work triple time costing the state even more.
  9. It was getting pretty bad at 4pm. 10 min of driving east and it was clear. I see stars at my house!!
  10. Will I have any chance during the day or just plan on a clear moonlite night?
  11. Thanks for the offer treeguy, I love a new challenge, plus my two good friends are pretty experienced if I fail!!
  12. Would a fox use a coyote den. The fox dens ive seen all had multiple holes.
  13. Yea. I had just setup the trail cam near some oak trees that's all tore up with deer sign. I just happen to take a walk around to do some scouting when I walked up the ridge and remembered that den. Next time I'm back ill move it to the den. So I have my 308 or a 22mag. Either work fine?
  14. Our forester noticed a coyote den a couple yrs ago on the top of a creek gully. This yr its being used. I've never coyote hunting before and wondered if I would be waiting my time sitting on the opposite ridge. I only have a rabbit distress call. Hunting under the moon light the best time? Thoughts?
  15. Watch out for tree's, and learn how to stop!!
  16. Yeah it sucks millers is gone. Such a great little place with quality trees. It was always nice to see the trees your buying.
  17. I planted a bunch of pink ladies and honeycrisp in my back yard in 2011. The tree's we 3 to 4 ft. Each cost me around $23 dollars. I didn't do any fencing ( I live in a highly populated deer area too) only because of the added cost. I've had to spray them all the time to keep them from nibbling them to much. This spring the pink ladies bared their first crop already. If you do buy that size trees allow a lot of time for planting. I had a dozen of them and had to dig out 3ft circumference holes to accommodate the root system. That alone took up the majority of my time. luckily I only lost one tree!! Some day ill be swimming in apples and I cant wait!
  18. To hard to tell on the age but id also guess about 150. Now get a fresh pic of him and that will get u excited for next season!!
  19. A good friend of mine who is head and shoulders more knowledgeable about food plots than me planted one of his fields half some type of farmers clover and half WI clover. He said hands down they focused on the WI clover. I've only used WI and have only had good luck with there seed. Cost is only an issue in the absence of value, value you will find!!
  20. Id have to say bow hunting a couple yrs ago I saw about a 1/2 doz turkeys chasing a fox out of the woods and down the edge of the field. Or the time I went out on a big pond to hang with my buddies ice fishing for a few hrs. I was walking out and might right foot went thru the ice, i only went down about to my knee when i pulled it out. After sh&ting my pants I start walking again only to hear ice cracking. haven't been on the ice since!
  21. Ah.. finally a good topic and no one bitchin at each other!! It doesn't sound like its a place u visit often. I would plant Whitetail Inst clover, or their clover, chicory alfalfa blend. Going this route its pretty low maintenance and its available all spring, summer and fall to help keep them frequently visiting. If your there more frequently id go annual and perennial for the perfect early/late season food source. Good Luck
  22. Pretty good shooting, I just don't understand the value in posting it online for ANYONE to see. Big ego's maybe?
  23. I have some new land and need to pick up a bunch of cams to set out. The cheap ones are always appealing but the reviews are fairly lousy yet I hate to drop hundreds of dollars on higher quality cams. Suggestions?
