  1. I often fantasize about teaming up some organizations and get a robot deer to setup around here and just call the Dec once someone bits
  2. They could be just shifting to a different spot in their core area. On growing deer tv they had a buck who would spend a majority of his time in one are then during the season would shift to another.
  3. Gotcha, we've been to that lake many of times, pretty area. We did some mountain driving up that way and I saw the biggest dang dead snake ive ever seen by the road.
  4. We had just a little left this past Saturday so I'm sure it's about gone now. It's a sloppy mess that I can guarantee.
  5. Land 1 you were reading my mind today as I was headed down to jersey for work and planned on starting a thread. Mine goals are fairly close to yours. We have a food plot in the works now for next yr so I have to see that thru. We have another tsi project of a few acres we need to complete by this spring. I also hinge cut a section I think two yrs ago but have been somewhat disappointed with it's results thus far. My thoughts are I made it fairly in passable due to the amount of trees I hinged. My main goal was to let more sunlight into the area to increase the existing ground cover which that part is working. I walked thru it with all the snow we have had and didn't find one bed just lots of tracks so now I think I'm going to cut up some of the hinge cut to make it more passable. I feel like I made some road blocks with all the trees laying horizontal. I also want to add some more desirable plant species like dog woods and remove some of the autumn olive. Last is building an enclosed stand next to the future plot. I'm looking for windows, a small wood stove and space to do small cooking so my son (10) can stay in it for long periods of time comfortably. Long list and little time :-(
  6. That's what new girlfriends do, season almost over so dump her by the next season.
  7. Ha awesome, I've only ever seen one on my trail cam at night
  8. Sorry for your lost, wasn't their a song feed Jake? Found it.....
  9. Snapped these two pics today in the future food plot clearing. I'm really looking forward to seeing this at completion, I think it's gonna turn out great. I'm leaving a bunch of hemlock trees and I think there is a white oak I'm leaving too. Once it's planted and green I think it's going to look really nature and hopefully help with keeping deer close by. Logger still has more to remove and I'm not sure when he will get back in with how wet it is.
  10. Uneventful hunt this am. Didn't see anything but squirrels and a rainbow.
  11. Saw nothing on my sit. Decided to take a walk around the property edge. I had been walking and I kept seeing a crap ton of yote track's then more and more. Then I found this small buck. I'd guess this happened with in the last day or so.
  12. Sorry just being a smart ass. Main spots about 90, back yards 3 and another spots about 7.
  13. Hunted back yard for a bit tonight, had two bucks sparring in the field for awhile, one looked like a solid 8pt and other about a 6pt, they went after it for awhile then the smaller one went after the few does in the field.
  14. Yep they are around. I had some in the house for decoration but my wife threw them away. I'll check our tree this weekend and see if there are any. I'll mail it to ya if I find one.
  15. Ok I might have some but I'm sure you can find some closer than me.
  16. Here's what I do... Genius I know. I rub mine with olive oil and Montreal steak season/or others when we cut up the deer and vacuum seal them. Good to go as there ready to go after they thaw. Well Larry what did u do and how'd it turn out?
  17. I'm watching meat eaters as we speak. I enjoy his outlook/ perspective on thing's.

    First buck

Well I think I was 14 yrs old (1992) when I shot my first deer with a Hoyt gamegetter I think it was. I remember exactly how that morning went. I slept in while my brother and dad went out. When they came back the the camp I was just heading out. I wasn't in the stand for 15 minutes when he came by. Right after the shot I walked back to camp and they thought I was full of s#it. The other is my first gun buck I can't remember my age for that one. Both taken a few hundred yrds from lawdwaz first gun kill. Small world sometimes
