Ever sit in your stand and not see anything for hrs and start hoping a buck show up or a hot blonde decked out in camo? Am I wierd?

Might be the quietest opening day by far. I passed up six doe, bro shot doe. No horns yet

Still not a lot of shots here.. I can see some dark clouds rolling over the hill from hemlock lake. I can't wait to add rain with this wind

Well I got a fire going in the cabin in the woods, should be perfect to warm up and dry off too later! Or I just shoot a big buck and call it a day!!

I give you credit. I tried that yrs ago with my son maybe age 3 or 4 and we didn't make it an hr and he was done.

Agreed, my son asked me tonight if I could always hunt with a gun all season would I, not a chance bows the way to go. My passion level drops off after bow season. My dad bought his original parcel of land back in 82 or 83 so my childhood was Daisy red riders, crossman pellet guns and a nice Hoyt bow. My dad would get these large paper targets with a deer on it and tape them to cardboard and rest again bales of hay and I'd shoot all the time. When were kids we also would sling arrow straight up thru the trees then run like hell, fun times. My son has really turned up his passion for hunting this yr and made me watch YouTube videos of kids shooting their first deer tonight. Sadly he's got a few more yrs before it gets real for him.

I'll have it with me. I've used it once in the past and it's easy to put up so u should be fine hookin up that morning.

I saw one behind my house a few yrs back. I was thinking hard if I really just saw a fawn with spots, around the same time as your pic late bow.

First morning I didn't hunt in a week, walk into kitchen and see a 9pt on the edge of my yard with a doe. That sums up my season

So I hunted behind my house this afternoon. I have just over 3 acres and I have a ladder stand at the very back of my property that faces my house. Then I built a enclosed stand probably 50 -60 yrds closer to the house that faces towards the back of the property. So I'm in the hut and I keep hearing a bleat can going off a few times and it sounds like someone's behind my property hunting no big deal occasionally I'll see someone in the woods behind me. All the sudden I catch orange from my ladder stand so I look thru binos and see someone in camo with a orange backtag holder. Instantly I'm pissed so I climbed out of the hut and walked back to see who it is. As I'm rounding the corner the stands empty and then I see this dick head, literally taking a wiz off to the side, he sees me and nearly jump's and I asked him why he's on my property and hunting from my stand. He quickly says didn't I see you at the wake last night, nope wasn't me where are you supposed to be, he said the guy a few properties down told him there was an old stand he could hunt out of, I told him to go back and tell him it's private property. Freakin Yahoo's, I'll be heading to the neighbors tomorrow that's for sure.
