That just because you want it caliber
Five Seasons replied to Borngeechee's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I want a desert eagle .50. Gold plated of course. Because "just because I want it". I also want a big ass .44 mag revolver. For the same reason. -
no, it adjust the brightness based on the light conditions. I normally leave it off although its the same battery for 3 years. keep spares with me. I turn it on when i think a birds coming in. yeah pretty cool huh? army corps land. leased to farmers. everything from soy to cotton and corn. not sure anything eats the cotton but clover and stuff grows out there.

it's a mueller reflex. $100 and very happy with it. auto-illumination and different reticles. Much cheaper than the popular burris at $200.

Hey guys, Took some time away from the site. Too much political stuff for my liking. Hope the banter has calmed and the warmer weather has cheered a few of you up. This past weekend Turkey opened up here in Mississippi and I couldn't have been happier to get into the woods. It was in the 60* and I didn't hear or see a bird on public land, but couldn't have been more satisfied. I think the recent cold weather has pushed the mating back, so hoping for some good hunting this weekend. I can shoot 3 toms here but jakes aren't legal.

Good lord how many times are you going to play the age card? With age comes experience. It does not mean you're smarter or better educated than me. We're not talking street smarts or life lessons. We're talking science. You're debating the very subject for which I went to school for, and at the tender age of 31 hold a senior leadership position in.I believe you know stuff about websites, I'd take your opinion on website design more over the average Joe. There is a lawyer or 2 here. I would hold their opinion on law higher than others. We have mechanics on this site. I hold merit in their opinion on cars. Do you see where I'm going here? Sorry if I get fired up when someone like Grow calls me out without even the ability to use the proper version of "you're". I said I was done but I won't stand discrimination of my knowledge of the environment based on my age.

Heard great things about benellis turkey guns. Honestly my Mossberg 835 with 2 barrels for <$600 is all I could ask for. Put $100 red dot mueller, $80 pure gold choke and a sling plus ammo and you're in the ballpark.

I'm not sure why I'm compelled to respond to you when you continue to not answer my question, but for 8 years I've worked for 2 separate companies and each year have lead projects to reduce our emissions. The amount of stuff big factories put into the air is extraordinary. In many cases the government realizes they have to allow some emissions. So yes, I fly in planes across country and to other countries to have meetings. But I also have goals every year to reduce waste, and air emissions. So I sleep just fine at night knowing what I do for the environment. I believe this thread has run its course.

You just proved my point, but again because of your lack of experience you don't understand the importance of face to face relationship building. So no, you cannot do that over the airways. If you or VJP would at least enlighten me to your profession I could at least understand who I'm debating with. It's your OPINION that there is no good reason behind them. There is no scientific fact behind your post. Debating the ozone layer and global warming at least has some science and fact behind it. This board is so full of sheltered views it's scary. Many of you have never moved out of the area you grew up in, let alone maybe the town or even traveled abroad. How can you have opinions like that without ever even seeing or experiencing the world? Some airline and bus travel actually have lower carbon footprints than your car. But crap, here I go with facts again.

You might be surprised in the corporate world how many telepresense meetings we actually do have. I don't expect you to know this of course, you're just following others and spouting off about something you don't know about. Now if you can tell me you've working in leadership in the corporate or in any capacity on a campaign trail i will gladly apologize. Most conferences we have are because of presentations by speakers to a large group. I was in Cincinnati last week for one. First snow I've seen all year . Just doesn't work remotely. In fact, we get the most done at dinner. Building relationships and connections over some drinks. A look in the eye and a handshake go a long way and can't be done virtually.

...And That's How the Fight Started
Five Seasons replied to ELMER J. FUDD's topic in General Chit Chat
wife gave birth 2 weeks ago and the hormones before and after have made unwinable battles. I find it best to wait out the storm, and usually i'm rewarded. 9 out of 10 she's on me it's for something else that's getting to her. She knows I'm not lazy around the house. Otherwise we fight about money. how she spends $400 on groceries blows my mind. -
And I have acknowledged that. I was answering several posts blaming liberals and "the left" for ruining this country. When in fact it's their very self that are doing the same by being blind and ignorant. I will continue to crusade for the Republican party AGAINST the nonsense that gives us a bad name and keeps us out of the white house because of idiotic claims against global warming, evolution, anti-gay etc.

It won't affect you and I. To deny that it won't affect generations to come is stomping on everything beautiful God gave us and thinking he will be fine with it. Judging by the responses here it seems most didn't even read the legislation. They're not banning your 1960's freaking stove. Good lord help us.

Glad you're ok Joe

You're first paragraph is spot on, but I disagree that you're not more knowledgable and a better Hunter now than when you first started.
-
Expert does not mean flawless or perfect. Every expert I've ever meant will tell you there's always room to learn and get better. Very valid points and certainly something to always consider. In life there are always outliers. The best example in the article is the mom arguing against vaccines with no knowledge on the subject but her own experience and refuting the knowledge of numerous doctors and scientists. She may also feel she's arguing with someone she knows is wrong, when in fact it's her blindness.
-
Perhaps the same definition of being a professional? When someone begins paying you for your skill or knowledge?
-
The whole point of the article is that your opinion should hold more weight. That's all.
-
You do not have to be liked or respected to be an expert on a subject. In fact many great scientists and philosophers were hated and hunted by the church and others for being "different".I believe elitists are just extra passionate., and yes can force their beliefs but not all the time (gun owners come to mind, so do bowhunters and Catholics and Muslims) It does not also mean they're not also experts. You can be both.
-
It's not my article. But in mxcy opinion it's been used a lot as a derogatory term towards "experts" or those very knowledgable/educated or passionate about a subject by those without a clue in the world on the subject.
