Best Place to Retire Away From Snow in East Coast???
Five Seasons replied to halfnelson's topic in General Chit Chat
Larry you'll find the deer are smaller but just as challenging and abundant. And generally the hunting regs make a lot more sense. I was blind to some of the nonsense the DEC dishes out till I moved. -

First bow season in the south was an eye opener. You don't see the spiders till you get down at night. Your headlight reveals trees and the forest floor is covered. Goosebumps for sure. -

Fwiw, Snow generally gets to people more than 90*. Not saying your opinion is wrong but i live in Mississippi and it's hot but it's not unbearable. Comparing it to nightmare snow storms, rusty cars and cold as hell wind chill it's easy to see why hot wins out for most people. I will move back some day, but you have to do more than visit to make a valid opinion I think. You do get use to the heat. Something you can't acclimate to in just a visit. Just my .02 -

Best Place to Retire Away From Snow in East Coast???

Tennessee is beautiful and so is Kentucky. Still a little snow but nice people and environment. Parts of the Carolinas are beautiful. Spent a week in Ashville and wouldn't mind calling it home. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Yet the French are also a bunch of ungrateful cowardly pussies. So there's that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

At the ripe age of 31 I see myself acting and thinking more and more like him every day. Scary

Totally agree with you. It's not just this, going through facebook sometimes makes me worried for the world my 2 young sons will grow up in. The ignorance and the tiny worlds people live in is disturbing. Their lives are ruined when the internet is out for an hour, or their favorite fictional character dies on a tv show or the refs made a bad call. Meanwhile people are starving all over the world and rights and freedoms are being lost daily. One of the best things anybody can do is travel. Also live in a different country or state for a while. Living in the South for a year has really helped enlighten me to different cultures and ways of thinking, whether i agree with them or not. What we can do is continue to try and educate without being overbearing. I believe this is where religious people fall short some times. They're so in your face it turns people off. Mr. VJP, I support and agree with your messaging. I just think you're preaching to the coir here.

no, not at all. It's easy to criticize others until you've been in their shoes. The rich do it to the poor, whites do it to blacks and yes I see it here often, those without kids think they know what it's all about.

My father is a self proclaimed curmudgeon. That definition fits him well. He would not dispute it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Can you have too many guns ?
Five Seasons replied to fasteddie's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I think too much or a lot of anything can cause somebody to give you a second look. Look at some of the hoarders on American pickers. Heck a lot of people say jay Leno is nuts with all those cars. Any obsessive hobby can be unhealthy. It sucks how society looks at gun collectors. 99% perfectly sane. 1% ruin it for everyone else as they plan to overthrow the government. Look at your avatar. So much better than a sickly dog with a high chance of dying from disease. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
I do not disagree with any of what you or anyone else has said. For the final time, I'd just like to come here and talk about hunting. The occasional firearm post is fine. But it seems 2 members insist upon bombarding the site with links to websites like prison planet and rightwingnutjob.com you make conservatives look just as bad as the Prius driving granola liberal does the democrats. You refuse to compromise or see the others point of view. So congress just stalls and nothing ever gets done. I know there are plenty of forums on the net to discuss these things for those interested in it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

No YOU don't get it. I'm on your side. I share your views, but not everyone sees the big picture or cares that much. That is my point. I vote republican because I side with their views more than democrats. I still disagree with a lot of their policies. A lot of liberals would give up their guns for social programs and more taxes for the rich. I don't know why it's so hard for some of you to see that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I would be truly heartbroken. I'm not arguing your point about who votes and who didn't, but keep in mind many gun owners are also liberals who feel stronger about fiscal and social issues than the right to own an assault rifle. For many, their shotgun or rifle and dads old revolver are all they need. And I'll also argue that the beauty of America is our state system. Many of the 50 states very in law and rule, and while I'll agree that what NY has done violates the second amendment, it is one of only a few states with this rule. You do have a choice. Some choices are hard. Like to smoke pot? There are 2 states for that. Believe in abortion or the death penalty or capital punishment? There are states for that. No income tax? Sales tax? Or how about warm weather and no snow? I realize these are not realistic options for many, but as Chase announced another 500 layoffs I can't help but wonder what this state is thinking and how it will survive. Heck we just re-elected a governor who told us we weren't wanted. That's how cocky he can be when the state is so blue. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Bad punctuation. If my memory serves me right he was involved in some political discussions showing he leaned to the left. One of the two makes sense but both? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
We've been over this before. They clutter the feed and the hot threads. I'm not the only one who feels this way. I vote and I donate. Don't accuse me of being NY's problem. You're just preaching to the choir here. I don't know why you're so blind, but one of the biggest cities in the world is part of NY. They are not progun and they do not care. You cannot win this war. The best you can do is move and take your tax dollars elsewhere.

Don't listen to an opinion when he asked for it? I believe he's looking for hunting gear not ice fishing or tractor work.
