eat and actually eating are different. Otherwise her breasts would be mostly silicone. i'm not sure that would taste very good. -my point was a jab at peta.

this is a fair point. I just use my best judgment. given weather, shot distance/angle etc., knowing what lies beyond my target. All go into consideration. For what it's worth, I think the earliest i've killed a deer is 7:30 so i've never actually done it. I would also obey these laws pretty strictly on state land. Not because I'm worried about getting blown in, but because of not knowing who else is around. I only hunt private and we have little to no tresspassing problems.

muck boots hand down. Leather leaks and stinks. however i do have a pair of sub-zero rocky's i can barely walk in because they're so thick for those really cold days.

my wife has helped wrap many times. It's harder with a 1 year old. And even harder if I shoot one in Syracuse, when we live in Ontario. Like I said, it's not a big price to pay to bring it back in the truck and drop it off. Get back to the family and pick up what's needed to do around the house. My place stays well kept, so does my lawn and all my toys. So again, to get back part of my weekend for these things makes it worth it. It's not like I don't know how, or cant butcher myself. I choose not to.

I'm of the same. I know how and have cut up my own deer. Usually we only break out the supplies and tools when there's more than one hanging. And even then (and I'm not trying to brag) but $80 to have someone else do it so I can spend more time with the family or doing something else is worth it to me and not a big deal. I spend enough time in the woods and my wife doesn't bitch. No reason to stay away longer.

wow dude. I get called out quite a bit here for my beliefs, but you need to accept that there are all types of hunters out there. As long as they're safe and ethical then they're ok with me. I laugh at what we call "clown hunters" but I don't scold them for their ways. It's fun to bs and debate but if someone is only going to gun hunt opening weekend in a blind with a gas heater and shoot a spike horn, then that's them. This would not be someone in "my circle" of hunting buddies but I think it's tough to be a hater on them. Again, assuming they're safe and ethical. Ethical of course having a wide variety of varying definitions.

why cant it be 20 minutes before daylight? that's easy math too. Do you need to shoot before? no. But what if there's a 10 point standing at 15 yard at 7:03? do you just shrug it off?
-
this law is retarded eddie and you know it. Most other states realize this and give a 10 minutes or so before sunrise as legal shooting time. on a clear night/day i can easily identify a buck at 20 yards around 6:45. I know it's a safety thing, but so is the SAFE act. Hammer me all you want on this, but legal shooting light is just silly. Now shooting at 6:15? that's different.

why is this 5 pages? cliffs?

I'm always impressed with the quantity of deer at Smith's Packing. They however, have everything inside in a cooler. I also think these kind of pictures are what the anti's love to share... not that i have a problem with them. just saying.

Malverne Firefighter killed in Hunting Accident

agreed, but it's hard not to go out. most deer killed i think are bumped by other hunters. -
lots can change a heard. pressure, different crops, urban sprawl. ours seems to change even on a yearly basis depending on if they plant corn or not.
-
yes they're hibernating in their caves.

another small group of ethical hunters isn't such a bad thing. they help patrol and you can share stories. Interesting that he's only after the big boys but would only hunt opening weekend. Most "opening day" hunters I know are just trying to fill their freezer. Little fishy...

wow, that guy was tough but his luck ran out. great rack. -
that's no different than turning them in himself.

make sure there's a season there. Just because there's bear doesn't make it legal. And have a plan to get it out. You cant just drag a deer out of the woods like a deer. I'd hate to have you shoot one only to find you can't get it out. i've had bear that was ok, and bear that was no good at all. I certainly would not consider it "great eating". but that's my personal opinion.

i think the line is different for everyone and we shouldn't judge others for it. Where jesse's line is, that is his call. I still am not sure why he would air his families dirty laundry on the internet, and maybe that sheds a little light into why he hasn't already taken action. But after 2 threads, i feel like he's looking for a consensus on what he should do and honestly, he's not going to get it. This one looks almost 50/50.

i thought this was going to be about wiping. disappointing.
