  1. To me it seems like DEC has more of a direction or idea of how to split them up then the actual regs that would change what you can harvest. also the fact that you can't apply the rest (harvest changes) without the areas to apply them to. so I guessed if anything was to happen it'd probably be something like that first and maybe DEC would do it to start turning the wheel. In hind sight DEC probably would get little from doing that and kill a chance for minor tweaks from the pending surveys or other info. What little inside info I had was regarding harvest changes from those polls happening no sooner than 2016 due to the reasons in the article mentioned in the OP. To their credit what they said has been right. Outside that it's just my guess with things like the aggregates. with the way the article reads it seems I'm wrong about simply anything showing up in 2015 and maybe wrong all together in that it might all be published at once. We'll see.
  2. lol.... I guess your buttons work. I'm sorry we disagree on some things. It's a forum on the internet. Breathe and it'll be ok.
  3. i said not until 2016 and gave reasons in the state wide AR thread. some believed me and others just didn't want to listen.
  4. that's the #1 tool I use to clear vines off hardwood trees in the woods, that would otherwise choke and kill the trees.
  5. if I was to get something bigger than a 22LR I'd be getting a 17WSM. I've actually seen that stuff all over the place because many have a 22mag but unless you bought a new gun recently you've got no use for 17WSM ammo. so it sits there. not to mention the 17WSM flat out rocks in accuracy and range compared to a 22mag. that's your primary concern right?
  6. "....my friend." used after every statement. also "irregardless". "can I ask you a stupid question?" actually this one I like because I can reply with "you just did." also "ya know." after every statement. all I can think is yup apparently you think you're telling me stuff I already know this whole conversation so I'm not sure why you wanted to have it in the first place. lol
  7. how are you repairing the dented case? even if then how are you re-priming the rim fire case? another question how are you coming up with the reloading equipment to seat and lock in the bullet? I didn't think it's possible.
  8. it's around it just goes quick. big box stores get bricks in and limit the number per customer per day but there's enough people at the door they don't last. local gun shops get some bricks in that will break up into (10) 50 round boxes and they sell you 2-3 of those at a time. unless you're a regular customer looking for something specific. for example someone like myself has often passed up bricks of cheaper high velocity 22LR for the rest of you. we just keep asking and watching for "standard velocity" 22LR to come in and then get a brick or so of that. sometimes only a few 50 rd boxes. depends on the person, day, and other stuff. I have no use for snappier, high velocity, less consistent, and lower quality stuff when shooting pistol competitions. I see it show up in spurts. it'll start popping up places and then won't be around for a while.
  9. I was referring to a young doe most likely born this past summer. it's head was pretty round on the top with no nubs. didn't appear to be a button buck. probably the same one parents were seeing during the warmer months around behind the house.
  10. had a little skipper in my parent's front yard eating the shrubs. woods are pretty bare right now with lots of woody browse nibbled.
  11. they're pretty down to earth, I'm just another hunter that happens to be successful and confident, kind of people. I've met them at shows. tough losing him when not that long ago their "pop" Larry passed can't be an easier.
  12. also I've found many people have releases too long so they're reaching for the trigger on index finger triggered releases. it should be right at your finger when your finger's relaxed at a slight bend. just attached to your wrist the end usually ends up around the middle joint of your middle finger when resting in your palm.
  13. you may have already noticed but keep in mind trigger weight will be much higher when pulling on the string versus sitting there not hooked up. also it doesn't have to be that heavy, but a "hair" trigger isn't good either. I say this because if your finger is on it and you get a gust of wind while on stand or on the range it could cause you to set it off not intentionally. you could miss or make a bad shot on game. your holding the weight from the release and only putting slight and constant pressure on the trigger with your finger. factory settings are usually alright to start from. not sure what you've got but if you can adjust travel it's good to still have a little. too much and you change position of your hand a bit and start to tense up by the time you get to the end. a little is important though so you don't have mishaps like I mentioned above.
  14. you don't need a small peep with the pin centered in the peep. I get plenty of accuracy and light transmission from a big 1/4" peep and 2" sight housing centered just within it. for hunting and competition it helps me see better and more of what I'm shooting at, which helps me get on target quicker. not sure how you're setup but that's what works for me. the aiming to shot process shouldn't take more than 5 seconds or so. after that you loose focus and move more.
  15. first make sure you've got multiple anchor points. assuming you've got a triggered release once you anchor and settle on the target so that movement is centered over that center of where you're aiming put enough pressure on the trigger so it doesn't fire. then pull with your back muscles. as you pull harder against the bow's "back wall" or draw stops you'll see the movement tighten up to where you're aiming. then if you've kept that constant pressure on the trigger the pulling through will be enough to set it off when things tighten up. if you don't have enough pressure on the trigger though you'll be pulling too hard and fatigue sets in quick causing bigger and sporadic movement which isn't good. it takes a lot of mental power to do it every time without forcing the release to fire or tweak out when you feel the travel in the release trigger. just ride it out though and keep thinking about aiming with a dead gaze on the spot. I wouldn't have the dot in the sight picture though. you're not aiming/focusing at the wiggling pointer dot. you should be focusing at a still point of aim. video the pointer dot somewhere else on the paper or target to see how much you're moving after a group of shots. I haven't used a laser pointer but that's what has helped me.
  16. nice. they go bang for generations worth of fun. much less of a pain to clean versus say my Ruger Mark III semi-auto.
  17. I've found golden bullets to be a little inconsistent within a brick... all I've had seem to go bang though. CCI mini-mags, Tactical-AR, and Choot'em stuff all seem to be very consistent. I've single holed groups from a bench with them. you have to consider the fun factor of shooting more rounds for less money with stuff like Rem golden bullets or say Win Wildcat stuff. they all have their place.
  18. you see effects from changes in altitude mostly due to temperature and then pressure. the speed, being speed of sound, is proportional but not directly proportional to air density that's related to pollution and humidity. speed is equal to the square root of temp, gas constant, and specific heat. ... or equal to the square root of a ratio with pressure and density within it among other things. in the ideal physics world speed of sound would be independent from pressure or density but it's the real world with air that can change and isn't an ideal gas. temperature has a big effect, pressure some effect, and density a smaller effect. things that effect speed of sound have a similar effect on the speed of your bullet. CCI standard 22LR is very common because it's cheap and accurate or consistent. smaller volume, less demand, and that cost of loading change overs to load standard and subsonic ammo is what bumps up the price probably. also you have to consider those words are normally in reference to match grade ammo with lesser tolerances and sometimes different processes. CCI, Aguila, Eley, and SK seem to be ones I commonly see. probably in that close order.
  19. subsonic in the context of what manufacturers print on the box with rated velocities is what I was referring to. I'm with you conceptually for all the physical theory and ballistics. I took calculus based physics through high school and a couple degrees worth in college. actual speed of sound is relative like you said. not sure what other perimeters got you 1145 fps. like with the standard international model at sea level it's 1116.4 ft/s, but at a temperature assumed to be 59F. for most practical purposes it's around 1100 fps so maybe that's related to manufacturers' printing subsonic skewed as a bit lower. ironically I'm now off to NRA 22LR pistol competition. lol I'll be throwing 1070 fps lead but slower being it's out of a pistol.
  20. from what I've seen match ammo is usually 1030-1085 fps standard rifle rated. "standard velocity" is usually 1070-1085 fps and subsonic lower. there is some match grade ammo out there that's 1100-1200 fps but it's not very common or the better stuff.
  21. you must be talking about the Auto-Match white and black box. almost all "match" or competition .22LR will be straight lead and not plated, for future reference. I think that stuff is 1200fps so it should cycle in pretty much anything.
  22. yea DEC probably can't be responding to those types of calls, despite you calling it in. like the others said let mother nature deal with it. she may live for years or the coyotes will get her.
  23. it was crap shoot with mine but I will say more times than not I've relied on designs that make sense. for example my Pure Gold choke has angled ports and it's abnormally long for a less abrupt transition from the barrel diameter to the constriction at the end of the choke. your Benelli barrel diameter is less than many other shotguns out there so you'll find different constrictions compared to other models. Hoppe's Bore Snakes work well for testing chokes keeping a majority of crap in the fired barrel from effecting results.
