i still have a 17% stout "aging" in the fridge from this summer. as in i hope it's not turned boozy. nobody will drink it and i feel like i can't be a bad host and have the last one. lol
-
i've had all the Nightmares about now... almost gone. have some Exposure in the fridge. haven't had "blown from a gun" though. sadly i've been busy and looking for any.

don't know her but would your complaints offset hers? i think you're both fired and just so happen to be left in the same environment. not sure how that will work out. lol

we just did SH training for work.... the ability to file a complaint like that must be in place. it's possible that she didn't want to say something but shared with someone else that it still bothered her. without her expressing she didn't like what happened something like that is not warranted. can't discourage individuals from reporting what they feel should be, but at the same time that person (assumed to be a guy?) needs to swap out his snowflake skirt for a set a big boy pants. (yes I'm aware the last part is sexual harassment) common sense and logic is leaving society and we're too PC to have any means to keep that in check. its sad.

friend of mine from your area hosts a hunting tv show and they're a sponsor i believe. they're being considered. looks very similar. -
a lot of deer habitat work we do also helps turkeys. not that we do as much as some people. numbers of jakes and long beards seem to be coming back. took a dive for a while with lack luster hatching and all the coyotes around.

Muck Woody Elite

I had a pair of ArticSports that cracked early on. I have a pair of Hosers too. the hosers are lighter but wearing from the inside out. not crazy warm either. I got a pair of uninsulated Rutmaster boots from Irish Setter and they have the expansion for your ankle. I ripped a hole in them around the shin that no boot would survive. Called them up and they couldn't warranty them but gave me exact instructions on how to use Shoe Goo. they were and have been as good as new. really comfortable too. I need to get a more insulated pair of rubber boots. not sure if they'll be muck or not. i'd try fixing them with shoe goo and see how it holds up. -
it's a high point over looking a valley it's definitely a strut zone for late morning love sick toms. unless they're roosted right there I usually setup lower. to me tom's seem to come down to you but not up.

the better your edge the less this is really helping you. it's all subjective. "super sharp" and "split hairs" to me means sushi chef kind of sharp not just hey i can shave my arm with multiple passes. this ain't the tool for that. who needs and maintains a knife that sharp they're actually using? from an impactal or niche use perspective it has its limitations. one side has the belt pushing into the blade not pulling. also you need to maintain perfect pressure against the tension of the belt so you're not changing the belt angle against the blade. i'm not trashing it. i'm saying it'll get a knife sharp enough for most people and their needs. i'm kinda curious how you're doing broadheads though without risking losing a finger. lol

if she nursed a fawn then yes. later in the season though milk might not be readily apparent. you would have had to cut open the udder. they start drying out with the rut/breeding. lower jaw will would tell you for certain if she was fawn, yearling, or even 2.5 yr old doe. a yearling doe may have birthed a fawn earlier in the year but didn't do what she had to to keep it alive. then she'd be dry. milk would only tell you more or less recruitment.

i took a new hunter out yesterday evening for the QDMA field to fork program. we never had a deer come in but somehow the turkeys came out out of nowhere. anywhere you looked there was a flock coming in. had half a dozen long beards and many jakes sounding off at once. had some up the hill, more in the woods behind us, and more down the hill working through the field like an invasion 5 turkeys wide. every hen or gobbler noise you can think of he heard. lol pretty foggy but got some pictures of the ones up the hill.

very cool deer with some character. congrats on all the hard work paying off.

i have this also. if you want a knife usuably sharp versus actually razor sharp then it works great. my family destroys our kitchen knives. it brings them back easier. my butchering knives and anything pretty and fancy i wouldn't use it. it'll give you scratches and take off more material than needed. I've figured out it's better to touch up or straighten the edge more often by hand then to let it get real dull and try to bring it back.

the more i sharpen knives the more i think about this. lol

weird stuff happens when you shoot deer. I've shot deer with textbook shots from 30-06, compound bow, and 50cal muzzleloader with none of them bleeding much of a few tiny drops. other hits with the same weapon and projectile had great blood trails. even frame by frame it'll show you close to where it hit. only way to know for certain is to have a recovered deer, gut it, and later skin it out. if it didn't impart enough shock to the nerves to drop it. also sounds like it didn't damage the heart at all. assuming the possibility you double lunged it you didn't chase it right down did you? deer out of air can still run to the next county by the time they expire.

nobody here except for maybe phade comes close to the number of trail cams a couple friends of mine have. i myself only have several. trail cams are awesome fun for playing the game to find a specific buck when i have to be working. also it keeps an exact record of what's there. no BS big buck stories of a 2.5-3.5 yr old with the sun hitting their antlers a little better that sighting. at the same time it ruins the mystery of hunting them. that said i will have a cell cam or two or three in the near future.

it's a bucket list item for sure.
