    You could have hunted closer before - just needed permission. Still need recovery permission for when the deer you shoot 80yds from someones house makes it to their property.

    I agree. But if anyone has taken the bowhunter course, an online addition for crossbow certification wouldn't hurt.

    Or what state does a physical count of every live and dead deer?

    Take them down and leave a note on the tree. Leave a note at all access points also - may get seen and read. Run an fyi in the local paper explaining also. Look for a local FaceBook page to post there as well. Leave note at local archery or gun shop. Word will get out before deer season to most.

    This one will - while I continue you hunt primarily with my recurve. And I will continue to support its full classification as archery equipment - or making compound/crossbow equal.

    Yes - and I know of probably 15+ who have seen or shot one. That said - still extremely rare and far from being something anyone could target. All have been chance occurrences over several years.

    I don't see why 1 person should have their own section unless they want to pony up for a sponsorship. Virtually all the deer farm topics have zero to do with hunting in NY.

    G-man. Non of that matters to those profiting from the exploitation of wildlife. It's all about the "opportunity" (money). And selling "stock" to Russia is not saving the world.

    What would "visible disrespect" of a deer be? I'm betting a deer I just shot threw the heart, cut open his chest, pulled out his guts and left them on the ground, and then dragged him 400 yard threw the woods feels like I am respecting him.

    I have heard the camera at the den story dozens if not hundreds of times. Every time I hear it, I ask to see a picture. Not once has produced even one. Got any?

    Nice try - I have shot 1 buck in the last 8 years. I shot does and what for an actual mature buck - grown wild without a pedigree and ear tag.
